Tecnik Electric Ovens

The tecnik electric ovens come with a 2 year guarantee, both ours stopped working after exactly 2years and 5months, the quality is not built to last hence the price, it is false economy.

Pile Of Rubbish

We went for the Teknix Duel Fule Range Cooker as it was half the price of a Range Master, and it's been nothing but trouble ever since.

With in days, one of the orange oven lights had vanished in to the cooker, soon to be followed by the other one.

Then one of the large rings would only work intermittently.

The whole cooker seems to be covered in a grease like film that cannot be removed by any kitchen product.

All the knobs are black with a black tab to indicate what temp you have set........but you can't see it because it's all BLACK!!!!

When you have any or all gas jobs turned down low, they have a high pitch whistle, very very annoying

The whole construction is very poor and flimsy.

I have had this cooker installed for 3 weeks now, and today I thought I'd better give the it a good clean in side and out.

Got the first oven door off with great difficulty, wishing I'd never started.

While taking the second oven door off with even more difficulty as the first (Bering in mind they come off in the same way as each other and 90% of all oven doors) lifting the door out without touching or dropping it, it shattered into a million pieces my hands and all over my brand new kitchen.

I will be going back to Range Master who I had before for over ten years without a single problem.

Wow, My Experience Is Completely Different To Ever

Wow, my experience is completely different to everyone elses. When I bought my flat the tecnik TKC 1285 oven was already there (although it looked pretty new at the time) and I've certainly been using it for over 3 years with no problems whatsoever.

I agree that the main oven controls are not intuitive - took me ages to figure out that you had to set the oven timer before the main oven came on! The controls for the rest of the functions are pretty straight forward, its only the main oven that is needlessly confusing with up to 3 separate dials.

The hob is great, they always light up evenly, with a notciable difference between the small to large burners - the middle wok burner is just what's needed for stir frys and I've never had problems with either the small or large ovens in terms of getting to and staying at the required temprature. Even tricky things like light sponges and souffles have come out fine in both ovens.

The timer function works just as it should - its really handy knowing the oven will turn itself off when the food is done and having tried out the rotisserie function out of curiosity, I can say that it does the job (on a small chicken anyway).

Its a small point but having had ovens where the hood light is a token gesture I really appreciate the bright, even light given out by the hood, particularly in my somewhat dark kitchen, although I agree with a previous reviewer that the suction is poor and noisy to boot.

I'm not a fan of integrated grills, but they work as well as other models I've had, I just prefer separate grills.

I've never had a range cooker before so I can't compare to others, but compared to other conventional ovens I've used I can honestly say that I love my cooker and think its brilliant. The only thing I'd change is to possibly get a better extractor fan.

Oven And Extractor Hood (both Tecnik)came As Part

Oven and extractor hood (both Tecnik)came as part of a package from Kitchens Direct. I would never go near them again.

They were unhelpful on the many occasions I reported failed oven seals, reluctant to return calls and did not come up with any effective answers.

Thankfully the last set of seals are still OK so they may have solved the problem.

Currently looking to chuck out this waste of space and replace it with a cooker that does a proper job

. I learned a long time ago that if you buy cheap you buy twice - I wish I had bought my own choice of cooker originally.

I am currently searching for standoffs that go inside the oven door as the current ones are cracking, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack

I Would Certainly Not Get A Tecnik Oven Again. The

I would certainly not get a Tecnik oven again. The only reason I have one is because it came with my Moben kitchen (which, once again I feel was a complete waste of money).

My tecnik's been fine. It was already here when I moved in and I've had it for 6 years. I have now broken the inner glass on the door and have been looking to replace the oven (a built under) but the Tecnik seems to have a bigger main oven than many other built unders. I'm now looking for replacement glass.

The Tecnik Tkc1285 Cooker We Bought Is A Big Disap

The Tecnik TKC1285 cooker we bought is a big disappointment. The hood that came with the cooker (also Tecnik) has so little suction power that we gave up using it completely. When the oven setting using the back heating element stopped working (after only a year and a half of very little use) we called BSH who are the only company appointed to do repairs for Tecnik. Their engineer replaced the back heating element and although the part costs only £9, BSH charged us £127 (£33 pounds for a large, industrial size packaging of glue although only a very small amount was used). The setting using the back heating element is still not heating the oven more than 100C and BSH claim that this time it is the oven switch that is faulty. BSH claim that this has nothing to do with the reported fault and would be charged separately. We deemed this unreasonable and called Tecnik, whose spokeswoman (who refused to give me her name) kept repeating that BSH is a very good company and that our dispute with them has nothing to do with Tecnik. We have decided to cut our losses and replace this inferior cooker with a one of better quality as soon as possible. Needless to say, had I known of the poor quality of this product and the mercenary attitude of their service representative I would have not chosen a Tecnik cooker.
