Breakey Starter Deck is the best game ever!

This is a game of "Wishbone" that you pay for with nothing to show for it, except the broken keys of your "opponents".

?You pay for a "pack" of plastic keys.

?You find someone else who has a "key" (or give one of yours away to an opponent.)

?Put your keys against one another to "lock" them face-to-face.

?Twist in opposing directions to snap the neck off of your opponent's key to "win"

That's it. There's no game, there's no "technique".

At GenCon several years ago they gave these out in the convention swag-bags. There weren't any instructions and it took a while for folks to figure it out... we were all saying "You've got to be kidding!" We started to purposefully spread rumors about "The Black Key always wins." And I mentioned to someone that all they had to do was super-glue their piece together and it would never break. The next day someone I mentioned it to came up to me with a necklace FULL of broken keys. "It works. I superglued the piece and it doesn't break. I just keep telling folks that I must have the winning key. That the Black Key is invincible.. and they believe me. Someone broke five keys on this one." And with that we laughed and went our ways.

There was talk (by the folks at their booth) of some sort of "break keys to get prizes", which obviously wouldn't work, as you'd buy keys just to break for the prizes, and there's no way to get better or worse... it's plastic keys that break. I never even saw this product hit the stores around here, though I think some local game shops got a peek at them and also found them ... un-interesting as a sellable item.

In the end, this product was COMPLETELY ill-concieved.

There is no game-play, there is no reason to "collect" any more than one key, and there are no prizes.

It's a game of "wishbone" without the bird.

Breakey Starter Deck - This is a waste of money. This is a one-time toy that just doesn't even have a redeeming quality. Once you use these you get to throw them away. Don't waste the money.
