Some of the mods are so petty and immature it cannot be believed. If you get kicked out a room for having a different opinion than a moderator, you know you have a problem in that chat room!

It is supposed to be a UK chat room, but a group of Americans from a very narrow point of view of what makes a Christian criticize anything different from themselves. This constant tirade of abuse causes many people to give up on the chatroom after a few times logging on.

It's a real shame this isn't a decent chat room because of the problem with immature mods who don't understand the Christian religion.

I was a ccuk user for 10 years. The site was recently purchased by an American company, who gave me a non-negotiable lifetime ban and refuse to discuss the matter with me. Even now I don't know why I'm banned, but I suspect it is simply because I'm not a Christian. I had many good friends in ccuk, now that is all gone :(

A very sad end. My advice, avoid ccuk and hope it is sold again to a fairer and more polite owner.

Most horrible 'christian' site I've ever visited. I went there expecting to find what you would read about in these other reviews, but instead it was a bunch of morally loose people calling themselves christians. The theology room was just secular nonsense follow with a go round of christian theology that was not even scripture based. The hub was filled with flirting, lusting, and sexual innuendos. I believe it was the moderation of the site in the room, name was red in the list as opposed to everyone else and allowed this behavior to carry on. I am still in search of a truly christian, christian website. One with true doctrine, true christians, and not a den of harlots.

Brilliant chat room, safe and caring

I have been a member of christian chat site for 10 years. Just like any community of people it has its ups and downs but overall I have found it a very helpful site. I have met some very supportive and caring friends here. they have supported me through some difficult periods of life.

The chat is not always about God. We often chat about how our lives are going in general but if anyone comes in with questions about the faith there are always plenty of people willing to answer their queries and share about times when God has made a difference in their lives.

Because of its nature as a Christian site it does attract its fair share of people who set out to prove the faith is unfounded. Sometimes this gets heated and unpleasant since it is full of normal humans who get a little out of hand from time to time, but the great thing about christian chat is that it is monitored and many regular chatters have contact with Monitors even when they are not online and so can call for their help. Monitors usually try to reason with thoise causing disruption and warn but if the trouble continues they are removed from the chatroom to restore the welcoming friendly atmosphere.

I recommend this site ti anyone whether christian or not as a place where good friendships are forged. To christians I commend it as a great place to find like minded fellowship and to share your faith with those who may be seeking God. To those who dont consiuder themselves Christian but have questions or are curious I recommend it as a friendly site for finding answers to your questions and clearing up misconceptions.

I have been going to that chat room for about 5 years off and on, and I would recommend it to anyone.

A good thing is there are monitors registered on the site. They do a good job at talking with troublemakers to see if they will stop or they will boot them out. Getting to know the monitors on a personl level helps as well, so that if trouble should arise when one is not available you can email them to notify them.

What's missing in your life? Money, relationships? God? Whatever your views you;re welcome with open arms at christian chat, one of the webs most friendly chatrooms, and a great place for people of all ages to hang out.

If you're fed up with religion or think you'll get condemed for drinking, smoking or doing a myriad of taboo things it may surprise you, but the last thing you'll get on this site is religion continually rammed down your throat as Christians are not supposed to judge others. In fact its actually a great place to hang loose. Yes it is a religious site, and yes, people do talk about God and Jesus, but overall the emphasise is on providing a safe site for people from around the world to talk to. In most rooms the discussion is not about religion, but about music films or how bad your days been, and regular chatters such as Welsh, Jayney, Thunderbird, Eph, CLT, Spiderman and others always ensure a warm welcome to all and sundry.

Parents will be happy to learn that all chat is filtered, thus F words and B words appear as asterisks, whilst others that might cause offence to some but are not swear words are renamed. Yank becomes American for example and there are loads more too numerous to mention. The room is also monitored, but this is not constant, so there are times when it's unmonitored. All chat is saved for security reasons, even private ones, though users can't save it themselves.

So if the emphasis in the chat doesn't appear to be focused on God and Jesus, then is there any point in Christians logging in? Definately so, for the majority of chatters are Christians and although most rooms may not have a Christian bias to their chat, it doesn't mean God's not mentioned, for often you'll here of the times God has touched someones lives. Chatting about God and Jesus whilst its not actually discouraged, is preferred to be best kept to the 'Talk Theology' room, a lively debateing room where christians, atheists discuss the merits of God and the Son he sent to save the world from the clutches of the devil. Whilst the name Christian chat will undoubtedly put many off visiting this website, amazingly it acts as a magnet to attract those intent on trying to prove there is no God. But the sheer power and number of testemonies from the thousands of Christians more than combat the constant stream of those trying to deny their very maker. And many have even been converted to Christ on this site.
