“incompetency Abounds” Agreed!!!

Incompetent customer service. Told them about my problem and could care less. Told me I could write a letter? Contact the "BBB" or your state's Department of Insurance instead. Nothing will change unless their feet are held to the fire and there is proof of your correspondence....……….. UNBELIEVABLE!

Changed Cover Without Bothering To Tell Me

I took out home insurance with Legal & General in January 2017. I received no communication from them until a renewal e-mail arrived in December. When I took the trouble to look through the renewal documents, I noticed they didn't cover my wife's engagement ring, which had been a separately-listed high value item for which I'd paid a premium.

When I called to clarify, they told me they had stopped covering this in June, and had sent me a message to my online account to tell me this.

I received no notification of this message, no letter, no e-mail, and no phone call.

Unless you want to have to log in and check your secure online messages every few months to make sure Legal and General haven't changed your cover without telling you, do not use them for insurance.

I also echo the comments about extremely long wait times to talk to them on the phone.

Taken Money Without Consent

I had enquired about a life insurance policy through Reassured, and after I was quoted £24.99,I was shocked to receive a letter from Legal & General stating my new quote would be £48,95 p/month, I was shocked, but declined the offer, they sent me a acceptance letter in the post to sign and send back if I wished to go ahead with the new quote, which I never did sign, and to my horror they started to take money from my account without my consent or knowledge, this is a blatant infringement of my details being abused by Legal & General, if I was to take money from them without consent they would want me prosecuted, IF YOU ARE THINKING OF USING LEGAL & GENERAL, BE AWARE THEY DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER, AND DON'T USE REASSURED EITHER FOR ADVICE OF TO FIND A POLICY.

Extremely Easy

Again I have to write that not only is L & G pension excellant regarding the way the fund/s are invested but i also have life insurance cover which was done through direct line. The process was easy , the paperwork simple and to the minimum and all put into situe very quickly. Extremely pleased with the process. The only thing I cannot comment on is how quickly they will pay out if I die ? But will never be able to answer that question will I !!!!!

The Worst Company I Have Dealt With

Made a claim today about part of my garden wall that has fell down they told me they would not pay me to repare it as it was next to a bus stop and the sand stone that it was made of is to heavy. Two years ago i made a claim for a new dishwasher they did not pay me because they told me it was not a free standing one so it did not count. They take your money every year but they dont like to help you stay clear of this company. I wont be using them again.

Incompetency Abounds

This place is a mess. After canceling my wife's policy since they didn't send a bill and it wasn't paid, they took 6 monts to review the re-instatement before they denied coverage. The reason they gave was that she was now taking sleeping pills prescribed by her doctor so the were unable to continue coverage. I'll be canceling my policy with them immediately

Do Not Get Life Ins With This Company ! They Never Pay Out !

I had life ins with this company for over 15 years, my partner had a stroke and we lost our main income, we had the protection against premium payments, yet when I called them, the guy was most unhelpful and insisted we did not have the protection (husband in hospital - you can imagine first priority is to make sure he is doing well) So I paid more premiums to keep us up to date, a few months later I phone again, with policy in hand and tell them that I do have the protection, their answer ? You are too late to be entitled to this now, when I explained I already rang a few months before, they said * we have no record of that call* so much for calls being recorded, guess we all have to record from now on.

Long story short, they cancelled our life insurance, because my partner had a stroke, they would not renew it, we had been paying for 15 years .. our mortgage would be paid off if my partner had died(according to them)!

Worst Experience Ever!

The whole proces has been an absolute nightmare. They have dragged their heels terribly, been awkward over cover and tried to increase premiums (I fought them with help from doctor and luckily got sorted after a lengthy and stressful time!) Thought that was it but nightmare continued when they have continuously mucked up the direct debits. Its been over 3 months and Im about to walk away. Shame but if they cant get the basics right.......we have 4 policies in total we will have to cancel :(

If they had been more diverse and not made so many errors and if they had offered me some form of sorry I may have considered staying with them but we are worried they will be just as bad when if/when we needed to make a claim.

Great Online Experience

I got a quick quote which I compared to a number of life insurance providers but Legal and General came out top. They also offered me £40 in M&s vouchers for doing it online. I could get a quick quote before having to do a full decision which also helped save me time!

I went through the online application without a hitch and was accepted immediately! which was great!

I guess the only problem is the customer service will come into its own when Im dead! My family will have to be the judge of that!

I think other providers have to call you back and you are waiting longer for a decision but they are a good brand and have been around for a while so not worried abou tthem going bust!
