I Had Purchased One Of These Helen Of Troy Irons A

I had purchased one of these Helen of Troy Irons about 10 years ago and it just recently stopped heating up, plus the coating was coming off. I purchased a new one for a much lower price than before. I did not use it right away and wish I had saved the receipt and box because when I plugged it in for the first use, it started smoking and about started an electrical fire. My previous one had a heat setting dial from 1-12, this one has a degrees dial, and i put in directly in the middle to try it out. I am taking this back to the place I got it so they can know what happened and maybe warn people about it. I hope to exchange it for another brand, I am sad though because my last one was so awesome. Same size as this one purchased.

I Bought This Straightener In The Summer And As Of

I bought this straightener in the summer and as of yesterday the plates won't heat up. I don't use it everyday maybe every other day ... now I'm stuck with my old crappy WalMart one that pulls my hair :( I'd really like a new one. I really liked this one though didnt do too much damage to my hair plus made it VERY silky smooth. I wish I would of read reviews on what the straightener was good at and what happens to it after a couple months.

I Have Had This Straightener For 8 Years. Up Until

I have had this straightener for 8 years. Up until a few days ago it worked like the day I bought it. It just started not heating up anymore a few days ago. However, it is 8 years old I cannot expect it to last forever. It is a great product and I am leaving to go buy a new one now!

I've Had This Flat Iron For Five Years And It Stil

I've had this flat iron for five years and it still turns on. But since this is not a solid ceramic flat iron the coating is pealing off. That started about six to eight months ago. So, for the money... it was deffiniely worth it but I'm ready to graduate to a solid ceramic straightner.

I Have Been Using The Helen Of Troy Line Of Hair S

I have been using the Helen of Troy line of hair straighteners since 2002. The first one (and the following two) I got was the original metal plate one. That one used to snag and pull hairs and over time, the hinge would warp and it didnt close the way it should, but that being said, it still was the only one that could straighten my unruly frizzy hair. Two years ago, I needed to replace yet another one of the metal plate ones and chose the ceramic version. This one is the best! It doesnt pull (the old ones had a tiny gap in the plate, perfect for snagging hair, this one doesnt have that problem) the warping issue has not happened, and another thing, they moved the power button. The old ones I used to turn off while using, and then I would discover it as I'm cursing at the thing. I have no need to replace it as of yet. I highly recommend. I have used my friend's more expensive flat irons and was just as happy as I am with this one. It's worth it.

I should add that my hair will stay straight (barring any inclimate weather) until washing it, and I live in Florida.

The Helen Of Troy Hot Tools Ceramic Iron Worked Fo

The Helen Of Troy Hot Tools ceramic iron worked for a long time for me and did a decent job. It was hot, but the one I had may not have protected my hair as much as more expensive brands do.

I Bought My Helen Of Troy (hot Tools) Flat Iron Tw

I bought my Helen Of Troy (hot tools) flat iron two years ago. I use it every day, and it works like its brand new. I LOVE it!! My hair is frizzy and all that junk, but when I use this thing, you cannot tell that I have naturally frizzy hair. It's awesome! My friend has one too. She is the one that recommended it to me. The only thing that is bad about it, is that if you drop it at least twice it breaks, but it's sold for a great price, and it has a warranty.

Highly recommended!

I Bought Helen Of Troy Hot Tools Ceramic Flat Iro

I bought Helen of Troy Hot Tools Ceramic Flat Iron because my HAI 2 iron broke. I wanted something cheaper; paid $39.99 and bought it at Sally Beauty supply. It works well. Hair doesn't turn frizzy even in Florida's humidity which is where I live. I had gotten a hair cut and used this iron for the first time, and I saw split ends immediately. Something about the way the plates heat up and make contact with the hair, they seem to promote split ends. Also, when it's ON, it smells like burning plastic.

Hope the tool doesn't melt as suggested in the other reviews. Let's be honest, none of these irons works like the professional ones such as HAI, FHI. I tried FHI too, and it's excellent!

I recommend those two brands. I hope to replace my Helen of Troy ceramic iron with ceramic iron from either HAI or FHI soon.

I Would Have To Say That Helen Of Troy Hair Straig

I would have to say that Helen of Troy Hair Straighteners have to be one of the most poorly made products I've ever used. I turned it on one day and the plastic sidings around the ceramic plates started to melt! After that episode, now it won't even turn on? I bought this item only a few months ago.
