Getting Worse

The staff are very good - they were wonderful all through lockdown very helpful.

If the store wasn't so close to home I would never go in there.

The quality of the produce is really poor. I have started buying most of my groceries from Lidl, where they have a wider selection of better quality produce, even though it's further for me to drive.

Unfortunately Sainsbury's put more focus on the additions of Argos and Starbucks than on the core market.

Assaulted By Staines Security Guard

Security Guard with no grounds made false claims and twice punched me in the face in the carpark/ He was not wearing bodycam and there was no CCTV where he punched me and the Police said no evidence his word against mine. The Guards failed to identify himself 3 times and went back the following day with concealed movie camera and he retreated away saying hew as dialling 999 and then pulled my camera out put his picture on local media in appeals for witnesses. CCTV was not forthcoming from Sainsburys so went back a week later retraced my steps making a video of the location and absence of CCTV cameras at exit and engaged nobody. A manager appeared from out of sight and confronted me and would not enter dialogue but dialled 999 making false claims all recorded on video and said I would be arrested when the Police arrived all recorded on video and issued a banning notice to a nameless person. Total discreace and offered a copy of the video to ho who supported the guard and banning order based on what.

Treated Like Dirt

As a regular weekly delivery customer with no warning there are no available delivery slots. I have just waited 1 hour on the phone to let them know I am registered disabled to be told you have to register tomorrow on the website as we don't have access today. I asked for a refund on my delivery pass and was told if it was purchased more than 14 days ago then no. In my mind they don't have any respect for their former ! loyal customers.

Lazy Inattentive Staff, Long Queues At Checkouts

I tend not to use Sainsburys, but over the last two days I have had cause to visit the West Swindon store twice. No problem with finding the items I was seeking, but the checkouts are a farce. So much so that over the two visits I have literally wasted half an hour of my life. Was the store busy on either occasion? No, not really.

On the first occasion the store manager opened a till and worked checkout himself, which was pretty good except that within visible distance several members of the store's staff were simply standing and chatting. On the second occasion, again the trolleys were queued across the aisle waiting to get to the checkout.

After ten minutes I gave up and went to the self serve till (why should we be expected to do Sainburys job for them? - we don't get a refund for using those tills) and, as I had purchased alcohol a store assistant came over to verify my age (as should of course be the case) all fine except for the greeting "are you alright, what's the problem" - well nothing other than the law stipulates the store checks my age and that I had waited for the assistant to turn up for five minutes.

I grew up shopping at Sainsburys and until recent years it was always my store of choice. Sadly not these days. Sainsburys has suffered a considerable fall from grace in my eyes as my experiences over the last two days, sadly, reflect the general levels of service.

Sorry Sainsburys, but you really should do better than this - a lot better

Ak Baby Food

I asked member of staff where fresh baby food could be found he took me to aisle really friendly and nothing was to much trouble. I found what I was looking for in aisle straight away the layout was very self explanatory. They had lots of stock with good dates so got flavours I wanted. self checkout was not very busy so it all went smoothly and I was on my in no time.

Having Both Removed The Customer Service Area From

Having both removed the Customer Service area from the store in Swadlincote and taken the decision to cease manning the Customer service checkout, it seems that Sainsbury is going completely automated. Unfortunately, I find that, having little to no sense of touch on my right hand, it's almost impossible to use the self-service checkout. This morning I was laughed at for my efforts to use the touch screen by a member of staff who thought it was "funny" (in her words) to "watch me struggling". She made no offer of help to me, or to apologise for her mockery when I informed her that i could not use the screen....she even went over to her colleague in the tobacco kiosk to re-tell the "hilarious" 'story of this "idiot" whom she'd just told off for misuse of the self service checkout!

I was standing right behind her as she insulted and further mocked me to this individual

In this day and age, discriminatory behaviour and language needs to be wiped out and I for one will gladly avoid all Sainsbury stores until their values more closely reflect those of a civilised society

Poor Website

Used to be a good website to go on but at the moment not keen on how it's set up

Sainsbury's

Overall, a good supermarket, but forced politeness can have the opposite effect if the customer is expected to have an exaggerated response in return, to a simple hello from the staff. Not all people will respond with an enthusiastic hello to mirror yourself, some are more comfortable with a slight smile and nod. There is no need to become too absorbed in yourself, to bark hello again, just to get an answer from the customer.

The Product Reviews Are Fake On Sainsburys Site. Nuff Said

They heavily censor the product reviews, which means lo and behold everything has *good* reviews. Any company that resorts to dirty tricks is a company to avoid. The fat cats who run the dump don't give a damn.
