Don't Believe The Buy Back Guarantee!
I purchased a plate from BCR and was happy with the price and sales service: I was even ok with them insisting I take number plates which weren't needed as I'm putting the plate on a new car. They wouldn't negotiate on price as they offered a 1 year buy-back guarantee at the original purchase price which I was happy to accept.
Due to a change in my circumstances, I decided to take sell the plate back even though I discovered that I would end up losing 20% due to VAT plus various other admin expenses. I duly sent them the V750 and was then asked to sign and return a hard copy letter which I duly did.
The next thing I know is that the V750 was returned advising that the buy-back offer was now revoked as BCR hadn't received the hard copy letter. I sent it to them, they deny receiving it and now won't honour the buy-back - what a great way of getting out of their commitments!
I fail to see where my review is inaccurate. Bottom line is that I returned a signed hard copy form as soon as it you requested it but you claim not to have received it so you then revoke the offer and I lose out. Not sure why that can be described as either inaccurate or misleading??

Your review is inaccurate.
You were supplied with the terms applying to the buy back guarantee when you purchased the registration mark and a further copy was sent to you in an email we sent to you on November 17th. You were aware that there was a deadline for supplying us with documentation and you failed to meet that deadline. You sent all other documentation to us by Recorded Delivery post but the final part did not arrive with us at all (and you have said that you did not use Recorded Delivery for this item). Because you failed to meet the deadline, the buy back guarantee was revoked.
The buy back terms make very clear that we will only be able to pay VAT if our customer is VAT registered and can supply us with a VAT invoice. Our administration charge is also detailed so it is not true to say that you only "discovered" this after you enquired about us buying the registration back.
Obviously, we do not covet dissatisfied customers and we am sorry that you are not happy with our service. It is, however, important to redress the balance by publishing this response because your review is very misleading. Many customers have enjoyed the benefit of the buy back over the years and you would also have done so had you adhered to the terms.

Easy Smooth Process
If I had known how easy it would be to buy and transfer my own registration I would probably have done it a long time ago. Really pleased with my new registration and I want to thank you for making it such a smooth process. I sent my documents inand in just a few days it was all done. I most liked being able to track the progress on the web site when it suited me because I work until very late at night and often struggle to deal with companies in normal working hours. A happy customer here.
Overall Very Good Experience
I am pleased with my recent transaction with britishcarregistrations.co.uk. The web site was easy to use and written instructions easy to follow. The only niggle was that DVLA were on strike and this delayed the process a bit. I was not told this until after I had sent in all my documents. However, this was out of their control so I am overall very happy.

I have just bought my second registration. The first one was 7 years ago and was not a very happy experience which is why I have left it until now to buy another. What a difference 7 years and a different company makes. I was first of all delighted with the price which was less (in some cases considerably less) than any other company was charging. Then the service was very good indeed. The whole thing took less than 10 days from the day I placed the order to the day I attached my new plates to the car. I am an extremely happy customer and I cannot recommend British Car Registrations highly enough. - I would give a 6th star if I could.

We have just taken delivery of our new Jaguar. It is probably our last brand new car because my husband retires this year. As an extra special treat, I decided to buy him a personal registration of his own for Christmas to add the cherry to the top of the cake. I am not very good at using a computer but my son recommended me to try the British Car Registrations internet site and I really did find it very easy to use. I ordered number plates with the Welsh Dragon to acknowledge my husband's birthplace of Aberavon and they came in very good time for Christmas. He was surprised and delighted on Christmas day to find he now has his very own personal registration! I think it is one of the best gifts I have ever given him. Fiona at British Car Registrations could not have done more to help me arrange for the registration to be on the car for delivery. She did all the talking to the Jaguar garage for me and kept me up to date with everything. I regret that we left it until now to buy a personal registration but I always assumed that it would be very expensive and very complicated and it was neither.

How much is it for a full transfer service?
Hi, I think you may have clicked on the wrong link. I posted a review about what a dreadful time I had with British Car Registrations and got caught out by the small print (nearly got caught out twice). I always recommend going with DVLA now.
