Worst Car Ever, Dangerous And Unrepairable Appy

Had the car since 2011, fortunately a Motability who have just agreed ti terminate the contract because it keeps breaking down. Problems started after a small fault in electrics on drivers door was repaired. It suddenly goes into limp mode for no reason, won't rev above 2000 rpm, not nice on a busy dual carriageway. So far Ford have claimed no fault codes are on the system, despite the Engine Malfunction message and yellow warning light coming on. Ford told us it was waxing fuel and blamed Tesco. My research showed no problem with fuel in the area. Next time told they had installed "special software".Next time told it was egr valve and Tesco fuel ( we haven't put Tesco fuel in since the first break down). Next time told it was Tesco fuel again. They haven't got a clue. It broke down THREE times in one day! Happy to be giving it back but feel very sorry for the next owner

Tdci Turbo Failure

We purchased our Ford C-max 1600 tdci three years ago with 40K on the clock. It has been a great car especially as my wife has back problems as the seat height is just right for her. The ride has been good and reliability ok. We have been all over the closer parts of europe in it. The fuel consumption ranges from 45 to 65 mpg, yes thats right 65mpg on a long journey when the urge to stay at 80 all the time is not there. HOWEVER and this is a big HOWEVER. With 70K on the clock the intercooler pipe which is made of steel just cracked and onwound like a loo roll inner. The final straw is that at 80K the turbo has just gone, it started to sound like a police siren. The Ford garage explained the KNOWN fault on the 'PEUGEOT engine' and explained that the oilcannot be totally cleared out of the sump with an oil change...blocked gauze filters...oil starvation to the turbo..and a £1480 bill to replace it!!!!

I will have to have the turbo replaced then get rid quick - garage said they cannot guarantee it not being repeated once it has occurred - one vauxhall dealer I spoke too refused to change just the turbo because of the known fault!!

Please pass on this info. Ford it appears can't care less, (check other reviews and the net), and should be supporting the repair of these cars. The problem is those poor unsuspecting buyers with just a few grand to spend on a nice 6 to 8 year old C-max will be just in time to catch the cost!!!

Cmax Long Term Review

hi,bought my cmax 1.6tdci in zetec trim brand spanking new, have now just covered 60,000 miles and have really got disapointed with the car.it drives superb but is badly let down with serious problems.i wish i was not saying this as i love fords and currently they appear to have a cracking range of cars but be warned.here is my story,i have always had the car well maintained by ford and changed the oil every 4000 miles myself between services.i am paranoid about fresh oil, imagine my frustration at finding the turbo go on my way home from holiday in north wales this week.only doing 40 mph and it went followed by a loss of power and blue smoke.oil level was fine on inspection, changed only couple of thousand miles ago.i now have to see what this will cost but on browsing the net i am finding that things are so bad ford will not even offer a warranty on replacement turbos, this i will look into, last year the car was loosing power and it was the EGR VALVE that had to be replaced at a cost of £550.i had to take the car back 5 minutes after i leaft the dealers as the symptoms returned on my way home.they had the car for 10 days with no courtesy car offered.on top of this the central locking plays up,the boot switch in particular,i am on my 3rd or 4th now.also iam on my 3rd battery in 7 years, yes third.my wife bought a brand new kia picanto at roughly the same time,it has not missed a beat and still going strong.well i dont know how much longer i will keep it bit i have got to get it sorted.it really is a shame because the drive is fantastic,50 mpg if you take it steady and great for fishing, holidays with the dog etc etc.but it wont be a ford again but it may very well be a kia, thanks for reading this and hope it helps.

A 5 Month Old Ex-demo Purchased From A Main Dealer

A 5 month old ex-demo purchased from a main dealer. I had to replace the wheel bearing after 2 years, then this March the Turbo went. This was a costly £1000 repair bill. Now the rear bearings need changing again, apart from these problems it has been an excellent car. Although I have only had a few problems, they were both very costly items which is enough to ensure that my next car will not be a Ford. It is a shame that Ford have not put up a low cost replace charge for these problems on a very costly car.

The space and economy (45 to 55 miles per gallon) are the best in this size car.

There Is A Design Fault On This Engine That Leads

there is a design fault on this engine that leads to turbo failure. Its that bad that new replacement turbos are sold "non warranty" as the chances of it breaking again are really high.

I Have Had This Car For 2 And A Half Years. It Has

I have had this car for 2 and a half years. It has been towed 5 times. Electric problems, engine and turbo problems... It looks great, drives safe, but is not worth the money. I'm driving an emergency replacement car again and my Focus is at the workshop in need of a new engine. I truly HATE this car, and thanks to my Focus I am not getting any Ford car while I'm alive ever again!

Overall This Is A Brilliant Car. It's A Lot Quicke

Overall this is a brilliant car. It's a lot quicker than it looks and we have had no major problems with it at all. I test drone a Honda and hated it. This was my next test dire and I loved it straight away, and it's been a good choice.

On My Ford Focus C-max 1600 Tdci 54 Reg Which I Ha

On my Ford Focus C-max 1600 tdci 54 reg which I have not even had for 1 year. The engine and turbo has gone. So I need a whole new engine and turbo at a cost of £4,298. This is a joke. Ford customer service will not even contribute towards this. It all started with the oil. There was not even an oil warning light that came on to warn me. So the turbo failed and sucked all the oil out of the engine. Be warned about this problem.

I Have Had Many Cars But This Is The Most Suited O

I have had many cars but this is the most suited one for a small family. It has a great ride with great handling, a great engine and great economy, plenty of cabin room and a nice boot. It has a well equipped cabin and very comfortable seats. Ford also have some great discounts on at the moment.
