Absolutely Useless
Send incessant letters regarding money owed but make it practically impossible to make the payment! Their online account system is as rubbish as their customer service- avoid like the plague

Terrible Customer Service.
I’ve been waiting over 8 weeks for gladiator to verify a crime reference number so I did it for them in 5 mins. I’ve been on the phone to them 10 times in the last 5 weeks for well over an hour each time. They do not care about their customers !! If I could give less than 1 star I would

I Wouldn’t Recommend To My Enemy!
I write this review in the vain hope it will help people because Gladiator will NOT do anything more than the absolute minimum, they take your money and hang you out to dry.
This is my story. Taking out a policy on my new work crew van purchased with my late grandfathers inheritance in Aug 19, I was starting a new business and using the van for family holidays I knew my Grandad would be really happy and proud. It was easy to set up, pay and I opted for auto renew for peace of mind. During Lockdown I continued paying my insurance even though I wasn’t using the van. In Aug 20, I remembered I had auto renew so wasn’t concerned when I didn’t hear anything from Gladiator, on Sept 25 I checked my account and they had taken money from my bank, so again, wasn’t concerned, everything seemed quite normal.
Then on the 29th Sept, the worst happened, myself and my son were on a dual carriageway when smoked started coming in the van from under the bonnet, I could see small flames so instructed my 11 year old, that as soon as I stopped he was to get out and away, I would follow him. By the time I had stopped and got away the van was engulfed, the fire crew arrived and then the police to inform me the van was coming up uninsured! I asked if it was a joke! After calling my wife she told me a letter had arrived that day from Gladiator, she opened it. This company had cancelled my insurance 10 days prior stating non disclosure of driving licence. Something that other insurance companies do over the phone in a matter of minutes!! at that time, post was arriving quite slow due to COVID restrictions, this company had not tried to call me, email me or consider the unprecedented times we were in, they just sent out a letter, allegedly they, sent a letter previously, I did not receive it. I have now lost everything! My work tools, my van, my Grandads money but at least I still have my son and my life. I cannot afford to buy a new van and even if I could I will have to pay extra insurance due to them cancelling! After speaking with the company and sending a letter of complaint, I didn’t get as much as an apology! My advice to anyone reading this would be stay well away from them!

Rubbish Company.
Tried to contact to change vehicle details, on hold for over half hour then got cut off. I had to insure my new vehicle elsewhere, these people shouldn't be allowed to trade. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Capture You By Phone Then Ignore Your Cancellation And Email
quoted £222 for insurance online gave same information ended up £307 including legal aid i didn't really want , pressure then ignoring hanging up on phone calls no cooling down period Over £50 to cancel even after 1 hour??? of turmoil
Said you can buy online but no way can you do this as they want to call so they can up the anty and price, omnibus man is investigating them also for other customer issues. They are unfair and sneeky i think

Adding No Claims Protection
Changed van 1 month before end off insurance , at the time I asked if they could protect my no claims ,letter and insurance came while away working , upon checking the letter I found the protection wasn't included, rang them and was told that it couldn't now be added and that if I wanted to include it then I would have to cancel the premium and start again , incompetent idiots
totally agree they seem to be well trained to suck more money from you maybe they are based in Nigeria.

Fleeced On The Next Renewal
I used gladiator who are brokers on Admirals recommendation, (apparently its their sister company) for my "van insurance" which Admiral doesn't do
So i got good competitive price and take out the policy
So next renewal date i'm thinking they're the ones i'm bound to stick with seeing as i had a good price the year before, but no, i find i'm being asked for a rise of £470 to renew (yep £470)
everything detail wise was exactly the same as the year before (except a few extra miles on the clock)
So be aware, you'll get a good quotation at the beginning then you'll get stung next time round forcing you to tirelessly hunt around for a new insurer
You get quoted for £222 online then call with exactly the same info but then it goes up to £307 including legal package. they are good at extracting money maybe tax people could use them for google and amazon.

Watch Out For Auto Renewal
Just be careful if you have a car insured with Gladiator Insurance they will have your account set up as auto-renewal, they will auto-renew without informing you how much the premium is, then you have to jump through hoops to cancel it.

Took Money Then Asked Lots Of Questions Required Documents
Son and I have a smallholding, I'm 71 and disabled but still do my bit, son is the worker. I have L.R Discovery and my son a van to run around in. Son is useless at computers, a technophobe, I do that side of the business. I sorts out insurances as well as all the other farming paperwork on line. Son's partner, of 19 yrs, works in social care.
Looking to renew insurance for sons van, using comparison websites, I found Gladiator was the cheapest Van Insurance! Paid premium in full and then the requests started coming in! Only gave landline phone number as been having problems with mobile phone coverage. Phone rang, it was Gladiator wanting to speak to son! Son had gone to vets with cat, likely PTS, a very upset cat owner! Gladiator phoned again, sorry son and partner out - was Christmas/New Year period, sadly back at vets with cat and tissues!
A letter from Gladiators arrived for my son, on 31st Dec., date on postmark was 23rd Dec. Letter said we require a copy of photo card driving license front and back for all drivers. A copy of the driving license details for all drivers, a copy of all pages of V5 document, proof of no claims bonus and a utility bill dated within the last 3 months - within 7 days! I do the bills on line, road tax done on line, no V5 document available and sons driving license is some where! Proof of no claims bonus I can understand, never get all they requested together in 7 days - are they on the fiddle? Are Gladiators making money from taking premiums then cancelling the insurance when folks don't come up with their demands in 7 days? Seems offhand to me! If Gladiators wanted the items they listed they should say at the time of applying for insurance cover not after the premium has been paid.
Would not recommend Gladiators to my worst enemy! Not for van, commercial, car or any insurance! Notice Gladiators are part of Admiral Insurance!
Avoid having lots to sort out, going no where fast, don't touch Gladiators with a barge pole!! Happy New Year!
