False News
The news sucks on AOL...it’s all stories and democratic views just like most all of the news media!
Service Was Excellent
Fridge was delivered on Thursday 2.3.17. Service was excellent. Would definitely use Aol again x
Fridge
They were very quick and efficient. Kept me up-to-date on delivery time and how far away they were. Unpacked fridge outside door so no messy cardboard inside. Advised on using fridge. Highly recommended.
Your user website for reviews is very difficult to navigate however, more people would review if you didn't have to activate account, log in, need a user name etc.

12 Years Of Aol
For 12 years I have enjoyed and despised using AOL. The main reason I stuck with AOL through all these years was because my AOL email address was my universal address throughout my childhood, and my family in the states could contact me through there. However, it is with slight regret, overwhelmed with mass frustration that I write this review on AOL and the shocking, offensive, and exhausting experience I have encountered as a loyal user.
With a mass accumulation of personal emails, family contacts and pictures sitting in my AOL account, I encountered a remote account sign in, of which I was unaware. AOL advised me to change my password (pretty standard), so I clicked change password (due to unrecognised access). My account was immediately blocked, once again pretty standard. Here is where things fell downward faster than the AOL’s valuation from the height of the dot com bubble, to the measly Verizon bid for an internet ‘pioneer’ who have passed their sell-by date but still manage to sell milk (their products), to old people stuck in their ways.
When I created my account in 2004, I was sceptical about putting my name, email and home number of the internet, as the internet was still blowing up at the time. As a result, I opted for a random fake name, which I don’t remember, and a security question, which I do remember the answer to. As the “Change Password” page required both the security question and answer to match the name, I decided to email customer support, who state they get back to you in 24-72 hours. At the time of writing it has been 1,034 hours and I have sent 3 emails and received nothing but an auto-reply. Good thing AOL has a customer service line, which is particularly valuable only if you live in the states… as the name suggests, it is indeed America On-Line. Nevertheless, as my job contract and other personal information was being sent to my AOL email, I decided to swallow my pride and pay £1.12p per minute to speak to a representative, whom I will discuss my experience with next.
He greeted me before asking what my issue was. After I explained that I knew everything about the account apart from the name, I suggested a list of options on how he could help me. I even stated the recovery email linked to my AOL account and asked if he could send a password reset to that email. All in all was a human following the online webpage procedure. A robot. He said we could not proceed unless I could verify the full name on the account, despite me answering everything else correctly, including all supplemental information, as well as the emails housed in my inbox, and sent. By this point I had spent £29.12p on the phone call and he said, “Can you just email the support address please?”. Complete disregard for my position, he was less helpful than a static web-page. I could also hear him eating crisps and talking about breaking bad to his colleague as he put me on hold to speak to “technical support”. A lot of people believe outsourcing call centres to Asia is costing jobs, but quite frankly, he was a prime example of why some companies need fresh labour.
After stating to me “you should know your details” and “it’s your account, you should know what you put in”, my patience was wearing thin. Nevertheless, I prevented myself from cursing and politely hung up the phone.
So after all of that, I decided to accept the reality that the AOL service is much like a dwindling camp fire. It may be nice for a bit, but it will die out fairly fast and leave you with a mess to clean up. From the height of its dot com era valuation to its sale to Verizon, I truly see why AOL has fallen over the years. I am disgusted with my experience with AOL, I have lost all communications for 12 years due to minor account issues which cannot be resolved due to the nature of AOL’s static procedures, and spent c.£30 talking to a guy who was more interested in Breaking Bad than the person paying for his “help”. I would strongly advise AGAINST using AOL, and can endorse its lack of support personally if anybody would like an honest review from a customer who has used the service for 12 years. Thanks AOL for, well, not much.

AOL is a good provider - no question - long in the market etc.... but you are forgetting about all the good stuff the moment when you cancel your membership. I cancelled my membership 1.5 years (yes... 18 month ago). I paid another 5 month and don't you think I got my money back. I called... and called ... and called a Hotline a few times and verified ... and verified.. and verified....

On the whole, I think AOL are ok. Iv never lost my connection. Have always been able to get on line when ever I wanted. Download speeds have been close to what they say (compared to other ISP's). i.e. I am on 8mb & managed around an average 6.5mb.However, I have just signed a 12month contract for 8mb unlimited download + Unlimited phone calls for £12.99 (after changing from my AOL Broadband Gold £19.99 per month to Broadband Silver £12.99 per month).I have been assured my broadband connection will remain the way it has always been at 8mb Unlimited. But with the addition of the telephone call package (FREE) & a new wireless router/modem. (not yet received).I just hope I have not made a mistake by staying with AOL.

Fairly Unhindered Internet Access... I Personally
Fairly unhindered internet access... I personally found AOL Email just too much hard work when I got hooked up with them. I'd rather poke my own eyeballs out than sign up with them again. I do not recommend AOL.com for an email address site, their software, e-mail, customer service, technical support, cancellation service, competitor web page blocking (BE there broadband, I could not access it though AOL)...
