MG Rover ZT 190 V6

This is the first MG I have owed and this ZT has amazed me,, I bought this from a small dealer from birmingham and bought it for £800 !!!! WOW . it was previously owed by a MG club owner.. and was looked after very well. it has had the X Power Performance upgrade and full stainless steel exhaust etc... sounds great.. handles brill and has all that i need. would be nicer with a bit more power.. but the "public" do not know about these and buy boring normal cars.. these are great cars from MG who know how to mod cars. would buy another one. poss 190 with power upgrade etc...

Having recently bought a 190SE I can honestly say that they are a much under rated beast. It is a good solid, well engineered (with the help of BMW), well equiped car. Its not the fastest thing on the road but it sounds great and is perfectly adequate 95% of the time. Handling is tight and predictable and the ride not too harsh. Its well worth having a look on the owners forum site as they have a wealth of knowledge and experience. The V6, unless you are doing a huge mileage, is the one to go for. Mine will easily do 30mpg on a run without being too gentle.

Where else can you get a fully loaded 05 plate car with with full history and only 50k for well under £3,000. Parts supply is not a problem and there are many Xpart service centres.

These cars are not only the best value motors on the second hand market, they are also one of the best kept secrets.

What is there to say on the best handling car I have ever owned. The performance of my 190 is superb it is well equipped and has been fitted with the sports suspension pack (my only mistake) this gives it exception handling but a boneshaker ride over rough surfaces. But you forgive it everything every time you turn the key or enter a fast bend it's a real drivers car with rugged good looks. They are one of the best-kept secrets of motoring a barging ...

...and only last about 20 -25k budget on a minimum of £150 each. Other than that running cost are about average. Clutch can be a bit heavy but no other complaints. Its comfortable and economical low 30's mpgs if not pushed hard, it love b roads and returns high 30's early 40's on country runs, cant comment on town driving rarely take it in. Very pleased with mine and would change for another one tomorrow.

This car has great looks & drives suberb 30 avg around town 36 on motorway I think thats not bad for a v6 petrol.

Had a Rover 620ti before this is much better, I know people say "its only a Rover", But they have not driven it, they would change thier mind. What a car, glad to own one.

Love it. Comfy, enough gadgets, holds the road like glue, practical for everything and sporty. The mesh grill looks best.

Great car. I used to own BMW's and this to me is better. I'm smitten. Its never a dull drive in the big old MG.

You won't be disappointed. At 3500 RPM the engine note changes and it flies! Not as quick as an M3 but just as rewarding.

Excellent value for money and surprisingly reliable, a very enjoyable drive. Styling, Chassis standard equipment brakes safety performance reliability.

I bought my 05 second hand Silver ZT 190+ with 18,000 on the clock in June 07, what a car! I live 80 miles from the garage where it was for sale, in this neck of the woods this is an extremely rare car, the garage agreed to bring it to me to view, it went past me as I was sitting waiting to view it in my old car, unbeknown to the salesman I had already decided to buy based on its looks alone!

The drive is an awsome experance, what power & grunt from the V6, the noise high rev is sensational, no gripes from the performance, the looks or the comfort, this car has it all, I have it now 8 months with nothing mechanical to report so far, it can be sore on the juice but if I want performance & looks then I suppose I need to sacrifice better MPG, this is off set by the price, equivelent BMW with less spec, at least £20,000 - I paid £8,500! bargain. I will have this car on my drive for several years touch wood, it really looks fantastic & the comments from people regarding how stunning it looks underlines my thoughts exactly, people have differing opinions regarding looks, one persons poison etc' but all seem to be positive about the MG ZT, even the other comments in this section are positive. My brother has a 2003 180 ZT (older model) he has his 3 years now with no issues other than to lose his keys - this is expensive to replace! A friend got an 05 190+ after me, he also raves about it & cannot understand why people pay much more for a lower spec/performance equivelant Merc etc'

My girlfriend said she will stick to her Seat Altea......too low for her & certainly too powerful, what a car & what a price for this spec & performance, hope MG really can revitalize its self & reproduce an updated version of the ZT, if not I may be driving this beauty for a while.
