Clairol Changed Dye?
I’ve used Clairol Nice n Easy permanent dyes for brown hair for the last 5 years.
The last two times the dye has left my hair feeling oily and thick - that’s before applying the conditioner. I’ve had to wash my hair the next day to remove whatever product is causing this to happen.
I won’t be buying this product again.

Hair Dye Poorer Quality Than Previously
I’ve bought nice n easy permanent hair colours for years, since the pandemic the quality of the product seems to have lessened and the dye, no matter how careful I am applying the dye, it gets everywhere.
The last few times I have used these hair dyes, I’ve ended up having dye on my face and neck and arms requiring baking soda and washing up liquid to remove it… not ideal.
Looks like I need to try a different product.

Extremely Disappointed !!!
Like most of the other reviewers have used this product for 30 years (Nice' n easy medium warm auburn, little blue bottle) and loved everything about it. Always had great comments about condition and colour. Loved it.
I have now had to try the new formula as have exhausted all available supplies of the old one. I don't like it at all and neither does my hair. The smell is strong and unpleasant and can still smell it 4/5 days later. I cannot style my hair as I could with the old formula as my hair feels lank and heavy and sadly will be trying to find another brand to use.
The only chance this product (Nice'n easy creme formula) has is that it starts to be used by new customers that have never used the original and have nothing to compare too but sadly for the many of us that kept our locks looking and feeling great with the old formula we shall be moving on to other brands.
Please, please listen to all the other reviews about this new formula, we can't all be wrong, and consider going back to the original formula (Blue bottle + Ammonia). PLEASE.

New Solution Awful
I have used nice n easy for years without a problem.
Since it has changed it’s solution, I have had terrible scalp
sores etc will never use again now.
My mum had gone through the same blistering everywhere after using one with no ammonia in and she’s flared up badly

Did What It Promised
Good product; used light brown. Like the colour outcome. Formula a little runny; ok. Just need to be very careful re drips. Quite a strong smell, not unpleasant but strong. Good value.

Formula Changed
I have always used nice and easy and even my hairdresser used to comment on my hair and said it really is very good. I have tried 9a and 9b and they have both darkened my hair to a horrible muddy shade. I will never use it again and will tell everyone that asks not to use these products.

The New Formula Is Absolutely Awful!
I used Clairol Nice and Easy for about 20 years and loved it. Now they have changed the formula I am looking for something else. I have tried 3 of the new blondes and all leave my hair mousy brown, and very dry and straw like. Shame on you Clairol. Looking at all the other reviews on different sites, you will be losing at least 95% of your loyal customers!
Wish I could give it zero stars as it doesn’t deserve any more!
It Didn't Work!
Just used Nice and Easy Medium Reddish Brown(5RB) Have used the product for years so I know how to use it but..IT DID. NOT WORK! My grey is still grey despite leaving it on much longer than recommended. Help!!!!

Always The Right Colour
I'm honestly surprised to see so many negative reviews. Then again I might just be lucky. Whenever I use Nice N Easy it always turns out the right colour, and my hair feels nourished. Normally I buy Medium Golden Brown and it gives lovely warm tones to my hair.

New Formula Is Old And Much Harsher
I've been using Clairol's Nice and Easy Light Golden Brown for a number of years. The "new formula" that was available from 2019 to just recently discontinued with the attractive cut-off panel box packaging in golden letters was awesome. There was no mess, it was much more gentle than the previous version that was around until 2018. It didn't color my skin around the edges of my hair line. And the smell was less. My hair always felt light and soft after use of the conditioner.
So when I purchased the "new formula" in "new packaging". I wasn't even warned it was a new formula. I was told it's the same great Clairol Nice and Easy but just in a different box design. Which was incorrect. The color was darker, the chemicals much harsher and more pronounced, smelly, the product is messy. Even with using the conditioner my hair was dried out. Like the difference in formula is HUGE and completely on the negative side. Did you ever test the new formula first? Even the packaging of the "new" formula sucks.
For me the newly released square box design packaged Clairol Nice and Easy Light Golden Brown is almost exactly the same as the formula that preceded the previous one, i.e. also a square box packaging and that ended in 2018. That formula also was very harsh, and I remember at the time finding reviews at Amazon that said that as well.
Something is VERY off with your "new" formula, which to me is an "old" formula being revisited and even worse than that old formula. I'll now have to look for another brand for sure.
I have been using original formula for around 20 yea4s and loved it. When they brought out new cream formula in 2019, I didn't buy it, due to negative reviews. I went to around all the stores and bought heaps at a time to last me. When I went to buy more in November, no one had any but I was told it was back in new packaging but same formula as original. Have used it twice and both times my roots are darker than usual and colour doesn't last as long plus my hair is very dry. I use 8A and only do my grey roots. Very disappointed. Customer service based in Asia and had problems with advice.
Q&A
Hi I have be using this product for many years the new formula says put on dry hair but a lot of the time I have spray color on it to get me though before I can color it. so I have to wash and then dry my hair before I color it? is that correct?
I hate the new formula. Harsh on the hair doesn't leave it shiny dries it out damages the hair.
A few years ago the smell of nice and easy was changed to the smell of Lillys. I’m so allergic to the smell I had to stop using it. I was wondering if it was ever changed back to a formula that didn’t smell like flowers or anything fruity. Please email me.
I am removing a new( applied yesterday) dark brown color that was too dark fr my taste and recoloring with Nice N'Easy 6G. Is there any special steps I should take to insure good color and should I recolor directly after removing the darker color?
What is the new number for Nine'n Easy 110 please?
I've been using Nice 'n Easy in Dark Reddish Brown for years. I can't find it now. Tried Dark Auburn, didn't cover my grey or color the rest of my hair. Tried Age Defying in Medium Auburn and grey. It turned pinkish red and the rest of my hair was almost brown. Has Clairol changed their formula and/or dropped shades?
