New Ingredient Turns Grey Hair Green

After years of using Loreal Excellence number 4 and being pleased with results, the new ingredient leaves grey hairs a horrible green colour.

I will not be using this any more. They have lost a lot of money as I dye my hair every 3 weeks to cover the grey.

Hair Dye Disaster

Unfortunately, I cannot leave a positive review for this product. I had a hair dye disaster. A few months ago I decided I wanted to go back to my natural colour (medium/dark brown), so I brought excellence creme in Medium Golden Brown. I was going from blonde, so I conditioned my hair and dyed it red first as you're supposed to. When I used the golden brown my hair turned black, and felt dry. Not sure what happened, but I had to bleach my hair to remove it, starting the whole process again! My hair is now (close to) the colour I want, but it's damaged and very dry. It could be that my hair is porous, but I've used another brand and it turned out ok. Not too impressed if I'm honest.

Neutral Review

Coming from someone who's had her hair every colour of the rainbow:

Black colours - Stick well. Though they're very hard to remove if you want to go lighter.

Brown colours - Are good. They turn exactly the shade/depth of the box.

Blonde colours - Tend to be a little trickier. They normally go the colour on the box, though they tend to fade.

Red colours - Are bold and hard to get rid of.

Feeling Let Down

I have used your hair colours for many years. I found a colour I loved. You took it off apparently to change the packaging but its a lie. Not only has the picture on the box changed, you changed the serum.

Probably saving money by maikng the serum weaker...it is not the same great serum it once was

Far From The Picture

Avoid unless you want extremely dark brown hair. Do not get tempted by the picture or name as it will be far from light brown.I only held the colour for 10-15 min and got dark brown result. Now heading to Boots to get a colour remover. I can somehow never find loreal colours to be what they say on the pack.

Could Be Better Could Be Worse

As with any hair colour it does what it says on the box. But be careful on the shade you choose.

Rich none drip texture. No bad reactions while using the product. Protective serum and conditioner could be better. A bit pricey as well.

Colour seems to either not take or fade. Have used better hair colour products.

Great

I have almost platinum blond hair, but my original hair is medium/darkbrown. I usually first dyed my roots en than put a lightashblond colour (doesnt matter wich brand, all worked) on it and than I had platinum blond hair. But I was sick of first dying it and then colouring it. So since 6 months Ive been trying different light ash blond colours on my roots without dying it and it all ended up too dark or too orange, not bad at all but I wanted better. My original hair contains a lot of red pigment so I always choose a colour with ash in it like 9.1 or 10.2 but nothing worked till I found this....

Okay so my roots dont get as light as the rest of my hair but thats normal.

You cant get lighter hair without dying it or uncolour it first but this cream makes you're hair a bit lighter and without the orange tone. So for everyone who has dark hair, this makes you're hair light golden/ash blond. My roots are darker but normally the roots are always darker so this looks natural in stead of what I used to have.

Way Wrong Colour

I bought E46, which was supposed to be a very pretty copper red colour. What did I end up with? Dark brown, with only the slightest hint of red. I put this dye on top of dirty blonde hair so there's no reason it should have gone so dark. L'Oreal needs to really do an assessment of the colours on the box because it didn't come out even remotely close at all. I wanted Joan from Mad Men. I got Trudy.

Yellow Hair!

My hair was really light blonde, I tried the 10.21 Alaska Ash colour from Loreal and it didn't do anything to my hair! NOTHING! waste of time and money!

Q&A

leapfrog1969

I purchased Pravana Chormasilk Colour 4n and 7.1 medium ash blonde. The colour didn't colour up my highlights it made them grey. Can I colour just the top with just the brown?
