The Lightwave Pro3000 Is The Most Efficent Torch O

The LightWave Pro3000 is the most efficent torch on the market(I think). It is well made and the battery life is said to last 700 hrs. It is a good torch for using around the house or backyard where lots of throw is not needed. It is very much a flood light torch. If you want a torch that is gonna last for donkey's years this is the one for you!

Re your Pro3000 that is on the blink, I suggest that you try unscrewing the head and having a close look at the batteries. Due to the low power consumption of the Lightwave series, the batteries can end up staying in the torch for a very long time, sometimes a year or more of intensive use. The somewhat fragile battery contacts (in particular the +ve) have a tendency to crush and deform with repeated impacts, leading to erratic contact that makes the torch display the symptoms you describe. Often changing the order of the batteries will solve this problem for quite some time. The problem won't be the torch parts (all solid state). I had the same problem with my 3000, which has handled a hell of a lot of abuse. Hope this helps.

Hi, just an update on my review. The LightWave torch now plays up a lot with the light flashing on and off. Not the kind of quality you would expect from such a trusted and well-known brand. I think that the flashing on and off is a fault of poor design. Since this torch started playing up I would probbably give the torch a 6 instead of 8.
