I Love My Aprillia Rs50 But Make Sure You Use Good
I love my aprillia rs50 but make sure you use good quality engine and 2stroke oil! i have a 06 model the last of the older shape and i feel that the am6 engine is better than the engine fitted in the newer models!in my opinion a race exhaust is a good idea but dont bother with A "70CC BIG BORE KIT" Your just asking for your engine to blow up!.

Aprilia Rs50 - 1 Year Experience - Must Read.
I'll do 4 categories here: Engine, Appearance, Durability and Reliability.
A small bit of background information about myself. Bought a 04 reg Aprilia RS50 with a 80cc bore kit. I was 16 years old, in my final year of school. I also rode with my best mate who had a 01 Aprilia RS50 so I can compare very well.
Let's start off with Engine.
The engine on a whole is 4/5. It's hard to be perfect, yet it's quite almost there. It sounds pretty damn amazing for a 50. My top speed I got out of it was 72mph downhill. Acceleration wise... I beat Porsche's off the spot if were waiting at lights. Around cities and or towns this bike is the absolute winner. Scooters? Hell no! I rode with guys who had scooters and it was tragic how poor they are. The speed is intense, I went on A roads constantly and able to stick around 65mph. The bore kit is a bonus, however without it you just lose acceleration. My friend's Aprilia could always keep up, however off the spot I would torture him.
Appearance.
Appearance is 5/5. For a 50cc it's hard to beat this bike for appearance. One time I had pulled up at lights and some dude in a van wound down his window and complimented my bike so much it got awkward. Didn't believe me when I said it's a 50cc. (You will get that asked a lot!) I also had transfers, some red bull ones. Some dude walked past me one time and asked if I was sponsored by them - I had to lie haha!
Durability.
Now, this is totally up to you. As for me I'd say it's probably 3/5. Keep it well covered when it rains, don't ride in bad weather and just be careful in general. I had a major crash on my bike but luckily just the front part of the chassis snapped and the headlight went crooked. Apart from that everything was more or less good. Remember to oil and turn off petrol (older models) when necessary. Electric problem wise, now and again I needed a new battery as my indicators wouldn't flash - just stay lit. But I guess that's my batteries being bad (cheapish ones). This bike can rust like hell if you leave it in rain so try not too (I'm talking about parking it on the driveway with no cover, not a friendly visit to your nans and it start's raining, the odd time will suffice.)
Finally, Reliability.
This is what the Aprilia is known to be bad for. I'd say 3/5 here. On a cold day sometimes there is just nothing you can do to start your bike. Especially if its one of those misty/foggy days where the grass is the only thing wet. The Aprilia is also known for sometimes when you are in gear 3/4/5 it will just randomly drop to neutral - nothing you can do about it other then quickly clutch + kick it back up. Unavoidable. However overall it is good quality made (except fairings) and quite tough.
Cheers for taking your time to read this, if you purchase this bike please let me know at [email protected] and I can tell you a whole load of tips which I painfully had to go through. I can troubleshoot if it's not starting, and even on some of those days I managed to get it up and running!
Best 50cc on the road, fact. Take it easy guys.

Ok I've Had This For Justover A Year Now I Bo
Ok i've had this for justover a year now
I bought it brand new '59 plate and it really is good for when i was 16
seriously,
i had it de-restricted and the day i had that done the pull i got coming out of the garage from it was like the first gear of the 125 which i have test ridden a few times
the only thing that does shame it is the sound, cmments liek'sound like a toaster' i've had sink it right down to the moped/scooter level when it's obviously not
full 6 gears, clutch and the new body work (i have fluo red) does it wonders
the tyre witdh sort of let's it down too but the height and front and side look from it look great
the ligt only realy works when your accelerating too lol
good handling though ive done flatut 55mph down country twisty roads with ease but cos it's so ligt wind WILL AFFECT YOU
overall a good bike though

I Havent Had My Rs50 Long, When I Got It There Wer
I havent had my RS50 long, when i got it there were some problems, spockets were shot, electrics were a bit off sometimes, carb wasnt too reliable, but its teh kind of bike that you just have to maintain and tinker with every now and then to keep it running nicely. Its fully de-restricted and will do 60 comfortably, and even though starting cold is a nightmare trying to warm it up (especially as my temperature gauge doesnt work) it is a fantastic bit of kit, a real head turner and crowd pleaser and i will definitely be getting the RS125 when i can !
if its de-restricted then surely you have to be 17 and have a test pass?

Hi I Have A Aprilia Rs 50 I Got A Race Exhaust On
hi i have a aprilia rs 50 i got a race exhaust on it a 70 kit and up jeted my carb and it still go 45 at a push on flat it may be restricted and iv not got a clue were there all are please please could you hep me and sproket sizes please ASAP
Limiters are usually found in the exaust and carb. My mate de-restriceted his rs50 by putting on a race exaust and it does 60 no problem. The limiter could even be in your throttle? Im not sure im just throwing out guesses here.
