Useless People Avoid
Over two weeks ago, a TPM sensor in my wheel was damaged during a tyre replacement carried out by your team. Since then, I have been chasing your company for resolution through numerous calls and emails, only to face delays and a complete lack of support.
Despite my persistent efforts, I have found it impossible to speak to a manager or anyone capable of addressing my concerns effectively. The level of customer care provided is wholly inadequate and has caused unnecessary frustration and inconvenience. AVOID!!!!!!

Wrong Tyre
I ordered a mid-range tyre through Tyre Shopper with C/B ratings. The tyre was fitted at National Tyres and when I arrived for my appointment I was told that my tyre had not been delivered so they would fit a better tyre without any cost impact to myself. On my return home I see that the fitted tyre is an Autogreen which is rated as a budget tyre with E/C ratings. This is hardly an upgrade & the fitted tyre would have been significantly cheaper through Tyre Shopper. Absolutely furious especially after having spent ages reading up on tyre reviews.

National Tyres Brecon
Second time of using National Tyres in Brecon since they have been purchased by Halfords, first time they didn't have the correct tyres but fitted a different tyre at my expense this time no tyres at all. Rang me to cancel an hour before appointment, reason: the tyres hadn't been delivered. Still took the money though ,the refund has been processed and I will have to wait 3-5 days for the money. Appalling service. DO NOT USE.

Disgusting
I went to get a quote for an exhaust for my elderly neighbour Ford Fiesta this morning. I was gobsmacked a breakdown of the total price. Rear box and pipe £400 plus , Labour £300 .. and a total of 3 hours to fit . This was at National Tyres Mochdre Colwyn Bay. Absolutely scandalous..
Went to my local Advance Auto . Purchased both parts £235 + .What an amazing difference.. Thank you Advance.

If There Was A Zero Rating I'd Give That!
If there was a zero rating, I'd have given that! Shocking experience. Very poor service from Tiverton branch.
I ordered 4 tyres online, and received confirmation of the order having been processed. The following day, I was called by a woman at the Tiverton depot, who advised I had to call the online team to order my tyres as they wouldn't speak to her. This seemed odd, as an online order is surely then automated. However, I did as requested, but trying to contact said team was impossible. The phone system was hopeless, and actually asked me the questionnaire about the call experience without even having spoken to anyone. Managed to try again and was put through to wrong team, who then reverted me back to the first queue. I called the branch the following day to be advised that the tyres had arrived there after all, so my appointment the next day was as planned. 8 minutes before the appointment for the tyre change, I was called to say they couldn't find my tyres - they weren't there. The guy said he wasn't normally at that branch but he couldn't speak to the woman who told me the tyres were there. Therefore we would need to reschedule. Arrived at the branch anyway, and cancelled order for a full refund. Waste of a 25 mile round trip. Bought from ATS instead, for same price, and no hassle. Won't be using National again. They blamed it all on Halfords taking them over!

Prepare To Be Lied To!
Took my car to the dealer for a service and MOT. I was advised that the front brake pads would need changing within the next few months and was quoted a price of £180 to do the work. Approximately 500 miles later I took the car to National tyres to have the brakes checked and was told that the front discs, front pads and the rear pads need changing at a cost of £460 and the work must be done this week or else! Do not trust National Tyres, they will lie to you!

Extremely Rude Receptionist
Just booked for 4 tyres to be fitted & front+rear wheel alignment tomorrow. Called the local Portsmouth, Rodney Rd, branch to ask if they could also investigate a clunking noise. Receptionist was extremely rude with no customer service skills or whatsoever. Was told that she's extremely busy & don't have time to waste on the phone. I had to cancel the booking as she's very busy and doesn't care about other services that I require. She cancelled my booking within seconds. THANKS NATIONAL TYRES / HALFORDS for employing such staff who do not care about customers.

Excellent
I had a great experience today. I had been to Middleton tip (Ls10) in my estate car getting rid of the usual rubbish and pulled up into Asda car park. A lovely chap, pulled up in his National Tyres and Autocare van. He mentioned I had a flat tyre and would I like it pumping up, I replied yes and as he was pumping the tyre up it was plain to see the valve had gone. He said he could replace it, I thanked him and he spent the next few minutes removing my tyre and fitting a new valve. When I asked him how much he said’ no it’s free, it was only a valve and only took me five minutes’. I tried to give him some money but he just refused it.
Throughout he was very polite and professional and just an absolutely lovely person. It really made my day. I would highly recommend National Tyres and Autocare.

Damaged Wheels And Angry Manager
Went to Weston branch due to past quality work. This time tho not the case. When I had 4 tyres fitted to my wheels when I got home I noticed damage on 3 wheels so rang the centre was told to pop in Monday to speak to the manager.
Monday, manager wasn’t happy that I’d contact customer service via email then tried to tell me the marks on my wheels are due to hitting curbs. I’d stated that one of the alloys has small markings on from a car wash incident. Now my old tyres didn’t have a mark on them from touching any curbs.
My wheels except 1 was mint! Typical got the tyre shop next door to look at my wheels (suspect pre warned of my turning up) he looked over it and pointed to the spokes having what looks like curb marks to him. Missed the part between where paint has flaked off due to poor tyre fitting.
Then the manager got me into the workshop by the tyre machine and tried to show me the tools used and a plastic guard (supposed to help protect the wheels from the head of the machine) I stated was that guard used to his reply yes… yet he wasn’t in that day. So he couldn’t confirm this. I’d pointed this out….
he flipped out and pretty much square up to me. Professional behaviour from management hey..
I’d then had a call from the area manager this morning and got the same story. Curb damage…. I’d stated if those wheels were previously damaged why wasn’t I informed before work was carried out or even pictures taken time/dated. I was at the centre waiting…
I’m an engine machinist and repairs, any vehicle before it comes in the workshop gets checked over and customer informed before vehicle work is started.. common sense if you ask me.

Halfords Takeover - Downhill For National
My two local National garages offered a generally OK service. But following their take-over by Halfords it's chaos as staff juggle with different internet platforms, worry about their jobs and lose their mobile fitting service to their new owner.
sadly there's little commonality of stock between the two companies, very little communication and those conflicting websites and systems. And, of course, Halford's higher prices!
So deliveries get cancelled, as mine did. And National loses its customers to KwikFit and local garages.
It's lesson in upping the quality of your management team to handle a takeover
