Appalling Customer Service
I bought a well known brand DVD Video recorder from Dixons on-line September 2011 and it developed a fault 9 months later - June 2012. I emailed Dixons.co.uk and their KnowHow team responded by stating that I should deal with the manufacturer directly, as they (an electrical retail group?) can not repair this brand.
I pointed out that as the ‘contract of sale’ was with Dixons, they should deal with it on my behalf. Dixons were not willing to get actively involved, so I wrote to them and requested a refund as the faulty DVD Video was within the 12 month warranty period. Dixons/KnowHow offered a partial refund of less than 2/3rds that I paid and this was to be in Dixon Group vouchers. I complained, stating that the Sale of Goods Act entitles me to a refund in full and this was to be in cash – not vouchers, and that Dixons failed to take responsibility, from the outset by requesting that I deal direct with the manufacturer. I offered to get an independent engineer’s report, to prove that the goods were faulty and ‘not fit for purpose’, but Dixons/KnowHow declined my right, which meant that I would have had to pay for it. After several emails, eventually I threatened them with legal action; served formal letters – recorded delivery; requested name/contact details of KnowHow customer services manager; etc – all to no avail. Very frustrating and extremely poor customer service, delivered by staff ignorant to the basics of consumer protection laws, such as the Sale of Goods Act 1979. Will never buy from Dixons Retail or their group (Currys, PC World) again as all complaints involve the KnowHow team, who quite frankly know very little – except how to lose custom.

Awful
Bought freezer rang on day of delivery after time had been confirmed that product damaged won't be one for weeks.
Went into the store to ask if could provide same model different color same price - apparently could not wavier 40 pound difference despite explaining lost our freezer contents in the meantime.
Had ordered tumble dryer around same time. Arrived unpacked noted crack under the protective plastic along edge. Asked for replacement - they sent a complaint letter to know how contianing lies about that we claimed delivery men had lied about condition and been forced to sign. New one arrived broken completely. Further multiple phone calls. Still don't have money back > 1 week after both taken away for a refund after 3 further phone calls.
They have no idea about customer services - be going the way of comet soon i think if continue this not even could say prices are that good to make up for it.
every phone call put on hold for 10 minutes assume for money or its so complex to just process a refund compared to taking your money.
A Truly Bad Experience
I bought a well known brand dvd video recorder on-line, which became faulty after 9 months. Made contact with them through their Knowhow -Currys, PC World - team and told that they do not carry out repairs on this item and I that I should deal directly with manufacturer. Dixons Group would not accept any responsibility for fault and eventually offered partial refund, by way of vouchers - completely against consumer protection legislation which states that refunds must be cash. The KnowHow staff that I have had correspondance with have no concept of customer care and stopped responding to my mail. I have had a 3 month struggle with Dixons Group just to try and get a basic level of after-care service, but sadly to no avail. I will never purchase from them ever again

Unflexible, Useless, Unsatisfactory.
Ordered a pair of headphones with special delivery on a specific day. Didn't arrive.
When I went to check my tracking number my worst fears were realised....YODEL!
Had a nightmare trying to re-arrange a delivery, with absolutely no flexibility from Yodel, telling me to ring Dixons to sort it out.
Called dixons customer service and spoke to a representative who quite frankly just didn't want to know and gave the response of 'no, sorry' to every flexible request I tried to make, including changing the delivery day to my next day off, or potentially changing the delivery address to my work.
Alas the only option I was left with to receive my goods was to arrange a delivery in the next few days, which I would miss due to being at work, or to make a 55 mile round trip to my nearest Yodel collections centre, where the time and petrol consumed would far outweigh the minimal price saving I made purchasing from Dixons in the first place.
Needless to say I canceled my order and ordered from a competitor at a cost of just 5 pound more and received my headphones with no problem the next day! If only I'd gone with them in the first place I would have saved the time and money wasted with Dixons!

Great Price, Not The Best Delivery
I ordered a panasonic gf2 camera from dixons, seeing that it was £100 cheaper than in their sister store currys and PC world - and that was a bargain I couldn't resist! However after a few days waiting for my delivery (I chose the standard free UK delivery) I began to google the courier service used by dixons. This came up as Yodel, and a quick search reveals hundreds upon hundreds of terrible reviews and horror stories.
From the tracking service, my parcel seemed to have travelled all over the place - from reading to failing to reach me, to southampton, back to reading and around various depots. This was a big cause of worry, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and began to wait the full 5 days before (what other reviewers had to do) calling customer service.
The package arrived on the 4th day, with the outer box ripped open - but fortunately the contents inside were still unopened and in fine condition. But judging by the other reviews for Yodel I feel I got off fairly lightly!
So overall, I got a great price, and the item arrived within the estimated postage times in an acceptable condition. I just thought I would write this review to give my experience with dixons and yodel, as it wasn't perfect, but they did do everything they said on the tin!

Truly Truly Awful
Have never been upset enough to write a review before, but had a faulty Hotpoint tumble dryer delivered a month ago. Never worked. Engineer came, tried to blame me for heavy handed installation, after much argument found a fault with the motor (not possible to be caused by me). Gave me an 'uplift number' to arrange a reaplcement. My model was discontinued so chose another one, they were supposed to call me to arrange re-delivery. Have just spent 1 hour on the phone, have spoken to no less than 10 people (delivery centres, service centres, manufacturers) each one told me it was the wrong number and put me on hold to the next person, until I had gone full circle. Spoke to both Dixons and Know-How (the delivery co.) Was polite, but ended up in tears of frustration. They were rude and unhelpful. I have a newborn, am desperate for a tumble dryer and have no clue how to get it. Feel very very upset. Will never use Dixons again.
ps if any of Dixons senior management are reading this and would like to help me, my uplift no is IY416502. Not feeling optimistic though.

False Advertising !!!
Advertised on line and aknowledged by staff in the Currys store (linked to Dixons by the way) a Canon Battery powered printer.. PIXMA Pro 950 for sale at just under £500 perfect for printing at shows without having to run a generator. Or so I thought!
Printer arrived and was supplied with a cable and normal 3 pin plug so enquiried with the store to be told that the item had been wrongly advertised and they didnt have a battery powered printer at all. No appology for my inconvenience, very rude staff on the phone and when I requested to be put through to a supervisor was told this wasnt possible as they were too busy.
Totally dis-satisfied with service/advertising/staff knowledge/customer management.
Also printer was £140 more than the equivilent printer described as not battery powered, so what on earth was I paying for !!!

Rip Off
Discovered they had charged credit card for £714 over 6 years for insured maintenance of a long since redundant product .... We have a lot of activity on the card and hadn't spotted it because my wife thought it was something else no chance of refund
I think they should at least send you an annual request for continuation
