Darren Hayes, Darkness - After Listening To This S

Darren Hayes, Darkness - After listening to this song a countless number of times, I was shocked to wipe tears from my cheek as I listened to it while waiting for my husband last week. This is a song that crept into the very deepest part of my psyche, one that deconstructs the way I feel in my own 'darkness'. Darren has always had a way with words, but this time he touches on something so deep and so dark that even those who have passed him off as someone to ignore won't be able to pass this one up.

Darren Hayes, Darkness - The Cd Grabs You From The

Darren Hayes, Darkness - The CD grabs you from the first minute until the end. The lyrics are masterfully done by Darren and the music...so new, so right. Most definitely the best CD I own.

Darren Hayes, Darkness - This Is A Song That Lets

Darren Hayes, Darkness - This is a song that lets you take a peek into the heart and mind of Darren Hayes. He felt like he was living in "Darkness" for such a long time. As a boy he was subject to abuse by an alcoholic father. He's come to terms with his Dad, but it's left its mark and this song deals with a lot of his feelings from that time.

The second song on the single is one of the best songs I've ever listened to - it's catchy and it's heartwarming. This is one of those songs that I put on repeat and listen to for hours at a time. He IS beautiful in a heartfelt way.

THEN... When you think you've got the best of Darren - he gives you more.. This has the POP!ULAR video - it's Darren's cheeky take on the world of stardom and celebrity. It was made while he was wandering through stores and walking through the streets, riding the trains and buses while he was living in the UK. It's a gem and the song has a driving beat that will have you singing along with it "I want to be POP U lar."

Last but DEFINITELY not least: The Darkness Video - this is a moody, touching video - look at it closely, there are so many visual clues into the demons that Darren lived with as a young boy. His pain and sadness hit you in the heart.

This is one of the very best singles I've ever gotten.
