Genesis, Platinum Collection - This is a massive collection of 3 discs worth of tracks spanning the long career of Genesis. Disc one is pretty much a "Best of" style collection featuring their better-known poppier songs from the '80's and '90's including hits such as "Land of Confusion," "That's All," "Tonight Tonight Tonight" and "No Son of Mine." Disc 2 features stuff from their '70's incarnation, melodic, quieter songs that for some may evoke images of bands like Keane, Coldplay and Snow Patrol. Disc 3 showcases material from the Peter Gabriel years - longer, more experimental tracks that may take some concentration and a few listens to appreciate. Overall it's an impressive collection showing the musical development of one of the biggest rock bands in the world.
