I Purchased The Lexmark X1150 For $99 At Bestbuy (

I purchased the Lexmark X1150 for $99 at Bestbuy (approximately August 2004). Overall it is a good unit, scans fast and copies nicely with one button operation. The problem though - and it is a show stopper, is that no matter what quality of print it is capable of, that really doesn't matter because right out of the box, it misfeeds more than 10% of the time (I'm being kind with that percentage). A device this inexpensive isn't worth fighting a holy battle to get replaced either. I wouldn't want it replaced with an identical unit, especially after reading other reviews complaining of the same problem. In the production development of any kind of merchandise, corporations must weigh up the pros and cons of their product. In my book, Lexmark did the public wrong with this printer.

i also have the named printer. it came with the pc. i bought. my bad points are as follows.

paper does not go down straight,it goes on a slant and is a pain. this problem is worse with printing photo paper,,, and also it pulls down more than one sheet. and finally it has stopped printing colour. it seems have got blocked.and have had the cart checked out, it is not empty.

research saids this problem occurs to 80% of lexmark printers after 12 months..

The Lexmark X1150 Printer Came As Part Of A Boxed

The Lexmark X1150 printer came as part of a boxed starter kit. I would not have purchased it as a first choice. It has worked extremely well for me and any faults have been niggles rather than real faults. I have had problems getting replacement ink cartridges locally and the price is high. I have only changed printer because I do not require a multi function printer. Overall I found this printer well upto the tasks it is required to do.

I Had Had Several Epson Printers And A Couple Of H

I had had several Epson printers and a couple of Hewlett Packard and was not going to get a Lexmark because of its reputation.

The X1150 is the best printer I have ever had.

It comes with cartridges 17/27, which have less ink in than 16/26... which may explain the other writers comment about it running out quickly.

The 16/26 cartridges last double the time and you can pick them up on EBAY for under £30 a pair... I use it regularly and they last me a couple of months.

My husband who is useless on computers can manage to use it as a photocopier instead of going to the shops.. which is a plus, and they are in colour. It is brilliant at copying things like your passport/birth certificate/tv licence for sending off.. in colour.

The scanner is amazing.. it gives you choices of colour/black white/photo etc. So you get good clarity. You can then edit it on another screen.

It is a much quieter printer than the EPSON.

There is voice software with it that tells you things like 'your colour ink is low' or 'no paper in auto sheet feeder'. Trouble is it is a twangy american voice.

All in all I would give it 8 or 9 out of 10 for the price and quality.

My Lexmark X1150 Printer Told Me There Was A Paper

My Lexmark X1150 printer told me there was a paper jam and to lift the lid and remove the lodged paper. Then, the machine woudn't recognize that the lid was closed. Called tech support and after asking me to unplug it then plug it back in, they told me they would send a new one. Obviously, they have seen this problem before. We'll see if a new one comes!

I Have Found That No Matter How I Adjust The Slide

I have found that no matter how I adjust the slider on the paper feed or what paper I use, the paper goes into the Lexmark X1150 Multifunction Printer crooked. It works great for everything else, though.

The guy above who had problems with the ink running out probably didn't buy new ones after he bought the printer. The ink cartidges it comes with when you buy the printer are only 30% full, because they don't want a full ink cartidge to dry up before the printer is sold. So, make sure to buy new ink when you get one of these.

I have the same printer. I am trying to print CD labels. Every time a load a sheet, it goes in crooked. Has anyone found a way around this? It appears that the single-roller feed system may be to blame.

Thanks

I Purchased This Lexmark All In One X1150 Printer

I purchased this Lexmark All In One X1150 printer because of it's functionality but was very unimpressed after one week. The color ink cartridges were empty after printing approx. 10 A4 color photos. Print quality was poor showing dithering and lines, with a very noticeable grain not apparent on some other manufacturers budget models! Software setting selection was complicated and unpredictable - resulting in wasted prints and paper. Settings are not saved and have to be selected almost every time you print.

Incidentally the scanner produced grainy, patterned output unless settings were fiddled with on almost every scan. I am used to a HP scanner which does this automatically. Post processing to remove the patterning was extremely slow.

I returned this machine for a full refund.
