Do I Have To Give It A Star?

Shocking product! Bought to replace a Neff product that did 23 years. First one bought faulty after only 8 months usage. Replaced under warranty, and after a protracted wrangle. Replacement developed same fault with door mechanism., Now fighting again with Smeg and getting no where. No warranty on replacement, beyond purchase date of original.

Looks good, actually cleans quite well, but if you are looking for an appliance that will offer value for money and longevity, this isn't the one. A shocking product from a very poor manufacturer, buy something else.

Absolutely The Worst Dishwasher I Have Ever Owned,

i actually paid harvey norman a deposit for a bosch d/w but they sold it on me & suggested i take a smeg which they said was a much better d/w

. it doesn't wash clean & the cycle takes far too long, it is hard to stack.

I have owned a Miele & an Asko which are far superior. I wish i had never bought the Smeg it is absolutely shocking, I seem to be washing up by hand much more now

Broken

Terrible dishwasher. I am writing off after less than 2 years. How they have a premium reputation I do not know. Looks alone I guess.

I'd Stay Away

I have a kitchen full of Smeg appliances and have to say that it has been my experience that they have almost all had a fault in some way.

1. American Fridge Freezer - engineer has been out 3 times to fix icebox

2. Microwave FMC30X - You have to calll an engineer out to change the bulb as it's housed inside the units without easy access from inside.

3. Oven- Thermostat and the fan element

4. Dishwasher hinge. Just a single hinge costs £60 DIY but you need torx bits to get at it. Never heard of any friends or family that have ever replaced a hinge on their dishwashers.

My experience of Smeg customer services is very poor too and they basically don't seem to care. They give you a standard \"well, that's not been our experience of Smeg\" answer and point me in the direction of repair technicians at my expense.

May I point out that most of my faults came within the 1st 4 years but they have only recently extended their guarantee. I requested a good faith gesture but got NOTHING.

Stay away folks. Smeg appliances may look great but the list of faults is embarrassing and annoying.

I agree .... its such a shame because they look great. My SMEG oven had three attractive knobs which very soon became damaged by heat rising as you opened the door of the oven. The Customer Service lady said, 'well you shouldn't have exposed them to heat' - how then do you get food out of your oven .....? The knobs cost 50 pounds to replace and were fairly soon ruined again. So stay clear of SMEG. My Bosch on the other hand (dishwasher) has gone on and on for 14 years ... buy Bosch.

I have to say that I totally agree. I brought a washing machine and a dish washer in stainless steel that combined cost me nearly £1200. Both broke just after 2yrs and the cheapest quote i got to fix was £300 each. I scrapped them both as neither was great anyway. I would never buy Smeg again!

If I Could Have Tried It Out Before I Bought It ,

If I could have tried it out before I bought it , I would have bought a different dishwasher.

The design of the trays for stacking the dishes is extremely poor; I can't fit into the Smeg DF614BE 14 place settings dishwasher what I used to fit in my old 12 place settings model.

The dishes come out dirty and I have to leave gaps between them, making it more like an 8 place settings model.

I thought Smeg would be a good make, but I am extremely disappointed.

The Smeg Dwf614 Is Difficult To Load, Flimsy, Leak

The Smeg DWF614 is difficult to load, flimsy, leaked after 2 years of alternate day use then door wouldn't shut. Paid a bit more for a Smeg appliance and might as well have bought a cheaper make. Will never buy Smeg appliance again.

Had Repair Man Out Within Months Of Purchase Regar

Had repair man out within months of purchase regarding very poor wash result on top rack. After 4 separate call outs and no joy, gave up and now stack only alternate slots on upper rack and it just about copes. Lower rack however is excellent. Definitely wouldn't buy another smeg after that experience.
