Rimmel Sun Shimmer Self Tan Gel

I am 41 and have been using this product since I was 15. I bought the new packaging last year and it is horrendous!!!! It's sticky, a different colour and brings you up in a rash. Rimmel sihimmer in medium shimmer has gone forever. Big mistake Rimmel!!!!!!

I have been using Rimmel instant tan shimmer for the past 10 years with no problems but I bought a new one lately and my skin became very itchy nd big red lumpy patches appeared it drove me crazy for days had to go to doctor for treatment the itch was awful will not purchase again as it is not like old one and I never had a problem before .

Like the other comment I have used this for years now that something has changed in the product it leaves my face feeling sticky. Such a shame as the old product was first class

I have used this product for years and totally loved it. The formula has been changed in some way as now it leaves your skin sticky...Very disappointed.

I am no longer purchasing this product.

This fake tan is probably the best fake tan in the market so far! It smells absolutely fine, which means you wont have that ghastly smelling tan on you for days on end and is so easy to apply. I never wore fake tan before, but when i bought this product it was so easy and simple, it made me feel comfortable and i use it every time i go out! I'm a very pale person so i'm wary of using products that'll change my look drastically, but its a major help and it looks so natural with that slight hint of shimmer, you have a sun kissed glow that compliments any outfits you wish to wear. I buy the product when ever i tend to run out, but here again, its a perfect product for lasting a long time if you don't use it every single day. Honestly, i'm struggling to find negative points about this fake tan and i seriously recommend this to anyone who is skin color paranoid or is in a rush to get out looking absolutely fantastic.

I have used Rimmel sunshimmer false tan for over 15 years and never had a problem applying it evenly and streak free, but every time I use it now I have streaks all over and elbows and ankles are left thick brown. This product used to be alot easier to apply, just a little moisturiser in a line up the leg or down the arm and then the sunshimmer and gently rubbed in to get a wonderful even tan. Now I find you have to rub in really hard and whereas before the moisturiser would blend in evenly it now seperates and the tan goes on in streaks.

What have Rimmel done to a once wonderful product, i can take a guess and say probably using cheaper products, but they need to be careful with so many other products on the market.

It's so quick and easy to apply, only takes me about 20 mins to do arms, legs, chest and back. If you do somehow mess it up it's easy to fix as it's wash off! I have the light shimmer which gives a nice subtle colour, definitely not orange just a nice glow. I might try the medium next for a slightly darker tan. It doesn't smell at all and i've only noticed it transfer onto the old clothes i put on immediately after tanning, so be aware of that. It didn't even transfer onto the white dress I wore on a night out! It's fab!

Oh my god I have used this for the past two times I have gone out it's awful. I bought the shimmer one and all the sparkels clogged and went black! Really hard to apply took me 2 and a half hours to get it right its stick and bad would reccomend St Moritz cheap and easy application! Do not recomend this!

Both me and my girlfriend use this product. Actually it's just my girlfriend that has used it but I have seen the advert..and we both agree that it is rubbish and causes streaks and doesn't spread evenly or easily like I would expect from a product that costs as much as £3.99.. So to sum up we don't like this product whatsoeva.also it has ruined our lovemaking due to its vile smell and look. ....my girlfriend just notices that when she applies it she looks like a tangerine or carrot

I would like to find out where to buy the Sun Shimmer here in South Africa.

I bought some a year ago but now cannot find it anywhere.
