Average To Dreadful Quality
Bought several pieces of bedroom furniture from the Lille range. The bedside cabinets and two chests of drawers are “ok” but I expected better quality for the price paid; these units do not have the weight or quality of assembly I’ve found with other “quality” furniture I’ve bought before. However, the real problem was the double wardrobe, which is self-assembly. Issues included an inadequate number of screws, poor screw length (giving minimal engagement], screw holes not drilled right through, catch hooks on the espagnolette locking mechanism installed the wrong way around, poor attachment of fixings, hinge sizes inappropriate for the door frame etc. I honestly cannot believe this ever passed Quality Control at the Chinese manufacturing facility.
I sent comments/photos to Willis Gambier in the UK, only to be told they don’t deal with end users directly (I should go through the retailer). I do not have an issue with my local retailer - who tried their best to help. This is a Willis Gambier manufacturing problem, so Willis Gambier should deal with it, not pass the buck to the retailer. And Willis Gambier didn’t even apologise. Avoid!

Wish I Had Read The Reviews - Don't Bother!
Spent a considerable amount of money (for us) on a bed frame bought through John Lewis and expected delivery within 4 weeks. Heard nothing so had to chase up myself and basically we were offered one delivery slot 4 weeks after that, meaning it would have been at least 8 weeks before our delivery. Unfortunately we couldn't make this date and they couldn't offer us another one near that time - how unreasonable to offer only one date!
No effort or apology was made to acknowledge the delay. It wasn't as if the item wasn't in stock either, it was that they were waiting for more people in our area to order something before they deemed it worthwhile to deliver ours. Point is, if they can't be bothered to deliver the item, we can't be bothered to pay for it either. Requested a full refund and from the other reviews on here I am just glad we ordered through John Lewis - goodness knows how long it would take to get a refund directly. Take the advice and spend your money elsewhere!

Willis & Gambier - Quality Not What It Used To Be
We purchased over 10,000 euros worth of Willis & Gambier furniture in 2009 from the Lille range including double and triple wardrobes, chest of drawers, bedside lockers and double bed. We liked the look and feel of it and we also liked the sense that it would age well. We recently bought further items from the range including a chest of drawers, bedside lockers and a tv/media unit. It is clear that much has changed in terms of quality. The earlier items we bought had a beautiful glass-smooth lacquer finish/french polish. The newer items have a rough matt finish - we had to return the media unit as the beading strip on the bottom was poorly attached and there were drip marks on the front where the lacquer had not been correctly applied. Astounding that it could have left a factory in this condition. The replacement is an improvement but still not acceptable for an item of this price - the drawers fronts have no lacquer in parts and do not run smoothly and the backing board looks like it was attached using a jack hammer with the screws breaking through the side panels. With much regret, I wouldn't buy any W&G furniture again.
Poor Aftercare Service
Got a bedstead from this company on 8/12/15. It looked good. However, on the 11/12/16 the centre rail snapped rendering the bedstead useless. Willis & gambier declined to do anything about it because it was 3 days outside the manufacturers warranty of 12 months.
The moral of this story has to be that if you buy a bedstead from this company don't expect it to last more than a year!

Wish I Had Read Reviews Before Buying.
Have just taken delivery of a full set of bedroom furniture and with the exception of the bed everything else has a poor quality finish with numerous small scratches. So called secret drawers are a very poor fit. I was not aware the furniture is imported from China or else I would never have parted with so much money. After a long wait of over 3 months I am extremely disappointed. Awaiting response from the supplier.

Surprisingly, I Was Very Impressed By Quality And Service
I ordered an 8-seater dining range from their website and was very shocked and distraught after reading these reviews. My delivery arrived on Friday and I am very very happy with the products and the service of the delivery men, who brought everything into the room and checked every single piece before leaving. I don't know if it depends on the products one purchases, but having read these negative reviews I was expecting the worst during delivery. But it wasn't the case at all. I wanted to write this review to tell people out there that you should buy from W&G and not to let these reviews put you off. In every telephone contact I had with the company in their Peterborough office, the person on the other side was very courteous. If they couldn't get through to me, they would leave a voicemail message and follow this up with an email. My dining range looks fabulous and I am really really happy with it. We look forward to hosting a big dinner very soon. I will definitely be shopping here again. Thank you, from a customer based in Sussex.
Do Not Buy Anything From This Company
Ordered over £3000 of furniture from this company in August. Delayed delivery finally arrived in Nov. Table was damaged and chairs wrong colour. After God knows how many phone calls chairs got changed December and guess what still no phone call about changing table 6 months later. Been very patient but now gonna have to get finance involved and last straw handle broke in lamp table. Top service NOT.

Lovely Furniture, Awful After Sale Service
We ordered pretty much an entire bedroom furniture set from their range. The wardrobe turned up with the fixings on the wrong side of the top piece and one drawer in the chest was cracked. They sent someone out to fix it but there was no apology and the man was grumpy, monosyllabic and we had no warning of when and what time he'd turn up.
Three months later the crack in the drawer reopened. We were told they'd replace all the drawers so they'd match and we're still waiting 8 months on.
They won't deal with customers direct (I've tried) so you have to bombard the shop you ordered from with phone calls.
Don't buy from them - the customer service does not match the standard you should be able to expect from a company that charges so much

Terrible Post Sale Service
Item was delivered to the wrong address. Several days later we are still awaiting any sort of feedback from W&G. Email, phones, answering machines - no one bothers getting back to you!

This Firm Is A Complete Joke - Please Do Not Buy From Them
I ordered (and paid for) some Maine furniture on 30 December. They said they couldn't tell me a delivery date because the head office was out on a Christmas break and wouldn't be back in until 6 January.
I phoned for a delivery date on 7 January. The head office was apparently not back until 13 January - presumably taking an extra week off - completely unconcerned by their customers.
I phoned back on 14 January and told them I would cancel the order unless they gave me a firm commitment of a delivery date.
They phoned back today (19 January) and said they would not be in a position to say when the delivery date would be.
Does any of this sound like good customer service?
Q&A
Where are the prices of the furniture? I can't see them anywhere.
