Worst Kitchen Supplier

We naively chose Magnet as the designer looked knowledgeable and the kitchens in the showroom looked good. However, that designer quit Magnet, so did a couple more that we were assigned (I'm guessing work culture is as bad as their customer service). In a nutshell: * Kitchen not delivered at the agreed time (1.5 months later), 2 doors still missing after 3 months of kitchen delivery. * granite worktop faulty. * Final contract and itemisation has not been shared with us, regardless of countless requests. * Faulty microwave.

But the WORST is their poor customer service

Disgraceful Aftercare At Magnet Kitchens

Where do you want me to start??

It’s really simple don’t invest or waste/spend any of your money with Magnet.

We had white gloss kitchen quite large (open plan focal point) and utility costing over £8k and £4k worktops

Several of our doors (out of 40) have over past few months started to discolour quite significantly.

Contacted branch and first thing they said was

‘Has the kitchen been in direct sunlight’? Not oh we are sorry to hear that.

That is the kitchen is 4 years old we have had our commission and now not interested.

So they said send us some photos and we will to warranty team.

Warranty team have acknowledged the discolouration is manufacturing faults and that it falls within the 5 year guarantee.

Since then they have failed to answer any emails or make contact as requested.

The store simply say it’s in the hands of the warranty team.

So we have been forced to get advice on how to proceed

BUT BE WARNED AND DONT RISK WASTING OR SPENDING ANY MONEY WITH THEM.

SERIOUSLY GO ELSEWHERE

UNLESS YOU WANT TO RISK ENDING UP IN THE SAME STRESSFUL SITUATION AS WE ARE IN.

I have posted full reviews on trustpilot and will continue to post as many reviews as possible on all other available sites to warn others until our complaint is fully resolved to our satisfaction.

Avoid Magnet - Customer Service Shocking

Avoid using Magnet Leeds - don't be drawn in by the shiny showroom and advertising hype around discounts and offers. The showroom is impressive and you walk in expecting to "create the kitchen of your dreams" - the reality is that design was poor (issues when coming to get it fitted included lack of space to walk round breakfast bar, unable to open and use washing machine if units were fitted as per plans and base unit couldnt be fitted due to plumbing) and customer service plus their "class leading project management" was non existent. We used their fitter who helped us work through the issues and he was fantastic (drafted in from Huddersfield branch). We spent £12k + and customer service was consistently and sadly lacking. No branch contact at all to see if we were happy with the installation or end result. I asked them for money back for items delivered that were not used on installation. Contact from the start was driven by me asking them questions and to do things. I ended up taking out all the old kitchen myself and organising a plasterer, electrician and plumber to keep things moving while they messed around getting a fitter assigned. Started process in June and completed end Sept.

Terrible, Stressful And Costly Experience. Avoid At All Cost

Steer well clear of this company and the Enfield branch in particular. It is now over a year since we purchased a kitchen costing over £15k. We have dealt with several 'managers' in this time and had to endure multiple site visits as record keeping is not Magnets strong point. Nor, in fact, are installation or product quality. Having stored items for Magnet for most of this year, we are still waiting for this company to fulfil its contractual and statutory obligations. Stressful is not the word. Mistake more accurately describes it. Avoid at all costs.

Hells Kitchen Showroom At Magnet

HELLS KITCHEN, or KITCHEN SHOWROOM FROM HELL. A more disinterested, underwhelmingly disrespectful gang of staff, operators and owners you would struggle to find anywhere. Particularly at the Watery Lane, Preston, Lancashire showroom, where my wife and I, both of whom are elderly disabled pensioners visited hoping to install a kitchen designed around our needs of eye level placement due to our inability to bend, looking for layout idea's, a brochure, and hopefully get some design input coupled to a cost estimate. Unfortunately, having parked up and entered the building, not a single person could be bothered to raise sufficient enthusiasm even to notice us as they were all way too busy laughing and talking between themselves. Worse still, nobody bothered to point out the need to record our car registration. A requirement we discovered weeks later when a demand for £60 (raised to £100 on appeal) appeared through our letter box, despite there being no sign as per IPC requirements at the site entrance, and no signs in the bays we used. There is however a small sign at the door entrance. But unfortunately, as my wife walks with a stick with her free arm linked to mine for steadiness, we both need to look down ahead of us so as not to trip each other up. So yes, we missed it. And as I've said, the staff were too busy with each other to put us right. All subsequent appeals have now failed, including one to the MD of Magnet personally. A cheap shot, 'robbing' elderly, disabled, genuine customers. Well, would-be customers. I personally would never go back there again. So a blessing in disguise in some ways as the kitchen units are poor quality, and allegedly, the fitting and after-sales service is equally poor. Not the best approach to boosting income. On the plus side, loosing the £100 may turn out to be a blessing in disguise long term. Stick with Wickes, Wren, or B&Q. All better quality by far, with genuine 'free' customer car parking.

Excellent Customer Service

I recently purchased a kitchen from the Sunderland branch of Magnet. I received excellent customer service from the kitchen designer from day one. Nothing was too much trouble no matter how much I changed my mind. There was an excellent selection of colours and materials also lots of accessories.

As soon as I was ready to have my kitchen installed it was delivered promptly without any fuss. It is now nearly finished and looks amazing. I went for pale grey shaker doors with black sink and wood block benches. The accessories are black and the sink and tap are also black which really stand out and look very smart.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Magnet to anyone for there efficiency and competitive prices.Thankyou Magnet for my dream kitchen.

Terrible Service, Avoid!

The quality of service from Magnet kitchens is absolutely awful and I would not recommend them under any circumstances!! Pretty much everything was done badly – they were very disorganised, communication was really really poor and the quality of the installation was bad (29 snagging problems to date - some minor, some major). The process has been really time-consuming and stressful. The installers tried to fob me off a lot of the time when I pointed out faults and Magnet have shown very little interest in putting things right. I’ve been chasing them for several weeks for a substantial refund I’m owed (not paid yet). They put my email address and mobile number on their marketing lists after I asked them not to.

Very Poor Experience

The kitchen supplied was not what we discussed in-store with the designer, the

handles we chose were replaced with units without handles, extra panels were supplied which prior to delivery we tried to cancel, but were told we could not and we had to pay for. The final design turned out to be unusable as designed since the stand-alone fridge freezer could not be fitted in, it was only the fitter redesigning the kitchen at our expense that it could be made workable. A very bad experience.

I Cant Begin To Say How Awful A Company To Deal With

The "designer" (or element slotter?) in the Bath store failed to update the order with the result that handless rather than handled units were installed (this mattered as the handled units gave more space in a small kitchen) but then included an ugly panel box frame on the order at a cost of £1,250.

The problem with either magnet or the element-slotter was that they/he refused to remove the additional parts costing £1,250 from the order. The result was that we had to pay for the unwanted parts in order to receive the other units.

There was a grudging " you can return if unopened " (we are talking floor to ceiling panels - we have a small car ...) , which is where an additional problem came in as the fitter ignored a specific instruction not to open the panels but instead opened and INSTALLED.

So, because of magnets "contract as per false order" and magnents/the stores refusal to move the items from the contract or at least not ship, compounded by the fitter ignoring an instruction not to open, the RESULT IS £1,250 WASTED.

Unwanted parts were removed and binned - and yes I did cry at the waste of money.

Poor Quality, Dreadful Customer Service, Suspicious Activity

£11000 for a Magnet Trade Kitchen bought on my debit card. Items missing and damaged, units that didn’t fit because Magnet ‘measured incorrectly’. Bottom line they refused to deal with me hiding behind data protection laws stating they can only deal with the trade account holder who is the builder that left our house a mess. They are in cahoots.
