Buyer Beware - Stock Is Not For Uk Market
On 15 Feb.2017 I bought a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 camera for £547.
It arrived a week later and on opening the box I found 6 operating manuals in Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, German & French!!! I contacted UKDigital cameras direct to request an english operating manual which they said they would send out. 2 weeks later I contacted them again as nothing has arrived and again they say they will send one out. a week later an A4 photocopy with 4 pages of the manual per page arrives!!!
Who has a camera bag that will take that and my camera resale value has just dropped because I don't have an original english manual and it won't get A1 for a trade in because of that.
I contacted Panasonic to request an english manual to be told that they cannot give me one because they are only printed for each camera and for the region it is intended for.
UK digital cameras is obviously buying stock that is not meant for the British market but not advertising this fact. What will it do for the warranty of the camera as many are not transferrable between countries?

Not The Best Experience............
I've bought from UK Digital on two occasions (inc using PX) and all was well - I have left positive feedback previously.
However....on this occasion:
Friday:
I placed an order for an Olympus XZ-2 accepting a PX deal which I thought was fair. On the Monday, I posted back my PX camera, original box, as new condition, with extra padding and in a strong box to prevent the possibility of damage in transit.
Wednesday:
By this time, I think I had received confirmation of receipt of my parcel but in any case I was a little troubled to see that my order still remained as "passed to our warehouse for preparation" and seemed to have stalled so I called them to check everything was proceeding OK - 0845 number (cost of?) Three attempts - then finally got to speak to someone. I was reassured that all was well but the order remained as pending (why?) and there was nothing further that could be done.
Thursday:
I received a call to say that it was not now possible to fulfill the order because stock was unavailable "Olympus have withdrawn the camera due to lack of sales". Whilst a pleasant 'phone attitude, it was somewhat annoying. The camera had been advertised as "in stock" when I placed the order with a "normally 5 day delivery" so availability shouldn't have been an issue(?). The XZ-2 is still available from other retailers. (Are UKD purchasing stock on receipt of an order for certain models?).
I was offered a refund or credit for my PX camera which was OK but I just wanted to complete the order by now and so I opted for a Lumix LX7 (my second choice anyway) - this wasn't discounted as much as the XZ-2 - the same price is advertised by other dealers too.
"Any possibility this could be dispatched before I go away for the weekend then?" "No - sorry".
I was then promised a delivery on the following Wednesday - Tuesday was possible but I knew I would still be away - a total of 12 days from placing the original order.
It then turned up on the TUESDAY - luckily DPD messed up and delivered it later than planned so things tied up. I had literally just got in.
Could have done with a stronger box in my opinion and better taped too. There was no padding filling the space around the new camera box inside. This meant that it was free to slap around from side to side inside the parcel - wonderful :-(
Luckily there appears to be no damage but the lid of the manufacturer's box was just about to come open and spill the contents.
Think I'm glad this is over. No big drama - it's not life or death - but could it have been a nicer experience.

My 1st delivery of my order went missing (no fault of ukdigitalcameras.com) and they sorted it out really fast. Definately going back to them for things I need to keep me taking the best pictures :)Only downside I can recall is the wait for the initial order... I think 3 weeks is quite a long time to wait for something you could pick up from a store near you....

THE WAIT I HAD FOR MY PURCHASE WHICH WAS BEYOND YOUR CONTROL I MIGHT ADD, WAS WELL WORTH IT.THE PANASONIC DMC-FZ200 IS AN AMAZING CAMERA AND A JOY TO USE.THERE IS A MULTITUDE OF FUNCTIONS TO EXPLORE ON THE CAMERA BUT ONE THAT I MUST SHOUT ABOUT THE MOST IS THE ZOOM. IT HAS A 24X MAGNIFICATION, BUT THIS CAN BE RACKED UP TO 48X SELECTING IT THROUGH A FUNCTION IN THE MENU, WITHOUT LOOSING ANY DETERIATION IN PHOTO QUALITY, AND STAYING AT THE SAME MINIMUM APERTURE VALUE OF f2.8 IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO JUMP FROM A COMACT DIGY. CAMERA TO A FULL BLOWN DSLR THIS CAMERA DOES BRIDGE THAT GAP.FURTHMORE IT HAS A HOT SHUE AND SINCE MY PURCHASE I HAVE BOUGHT A PANASONIC FL-220E FLASH GUN, WITH THE DEDICATED FACILITY I CAN EXPLORE THE USE OF TTL METERING.THIS CAMERA SUITS ME DOWN TO THE GROUND, I CAN TAKE PART IN MY PHOTOGRAPHY THAT WITH A COMPACT YOU CAN NOT.FOR THE PRICE I COULD GET A LOWER LEVEL DSLR, BUT THAT ZOOM IS AN ASTOUNDING ATRIBUTE.THANKS AGAIN UK DIGITAL CAMERAS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT. UK Digital Cameras recently offered me a very fair price for my Canon SX40,
which I subsequently accepted.
I then Purchased a Nikon S9500 bundle, which was delivered only 3 days after placing the order, although it was carried by Standard post.
There was no trouble in getting the VAT removed [VAT is not payable on
goods purchased in Jersey.]
Needless to say I was absolutely delighted with the service provided by the
company and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone looking for a !st.
class part exchange deal.

A Fantastic Service
The service I received recently was excellent, in fact phenomenal!
I ordered a camera, and sent one for exchange on a Tuesday of this week.
By Thursday 2.15 p.m. I had received my new camera with communication all the way about delivery, etc.
In fact, I was told to the hour, when it would be delivered - 1.56 p.m. to 2.56 p.m.
From my conversation with Holly when ordering the camera, and with Kyle about the exchange, it was obvious that they care very much for the customer.
I have done business with UK Digital Cameras in the past and have always had the same kind of service.
I have recommended them to others and would definitely do so again.
