It was the best found site, finding it - was at the end of my search rope, but I did find it (from Oz) - the site put shame to the rest.

Web1000 gets a 5 star rating, even though I can't find it, I was there eariler this year though.(2011)

it's been like 15 years - and it's still the best!

Web1000 (www.web1000.com) make big, bold, glorious claims of free service with no ads, but they are gradually starting to filter them into the service and it won't be long until they're the same as everyone else.

One thing that has long annoyed me is that they will often redirect your site to their advertiser's sites meaning your visitors can't access your site and will ultimately get the impression that your site is busted or doesn't exist any more.

Quite counter productive really.

Their help desk takes forever to reply and is also hardly ever of any use. (When trying to deal with the above-mentioned redirections).

Right now infact, all my sites are redirecting to their advertisers.

I use the Web1000 service and I'm very happy with it. I think this is the best free hosting plan. It's down for the moment but will soon be up again, after they upgrade.

The good and bad points depend on your requirements! The best way to evaluate a product is to test it yourself (if possible) and make your own review. ;)

ps: No catch, I recommend reading the Policies before using maybe they'll change some sections after upgrade. My rating is based on the free service, paying for a host will offer a better service than a free one keep that in mind while reading this.
