No Frills DIY

No Frills Newport used to be a shop for many bargains and I have spent a lot of money over the years there.

Unfortunately since christmas they have revamped the shop to take all the left overs from the Focus shops in and around Newport including the West Country.

I now call it the Zombie store as you will find many people walking around aimlessly looking for something to buy, many items of which are now far more expensive than before the store was revamped!!

Scruffy shop, dated in appearance and prices quite high in comparison to the likes of Wilkinsons etc... Poor choice of products quite randomly scattered around, staff few and far between, often untrained and uninterested. Other reviews for these stores are puzzlingly different to my experience?!

I am a keen DIY'er & have around 7+ years experience. Most products are branded, and cost much less in direct comparison to other stores. People need to remember that to achieve this, less money is spent on pretty shelving, nicely stacked goods & a shiny website ! etc. If you know what product you want then you won't have to bother staff with silly questions, you can save alot of money compared to many other stores I've shopped especially diy materials. The No Frills store at Benton is value for money with very helpful staff.Have bought regularly from them, and have some exceptional bargains.They seem to carry a lot of end of line & clearance stuff.First port of call when looking for diy or garden requirements.

The staff I asked for assistance at Darlington No Frills were very helpful, and what they didn't know themselves they soon found out for me. I use a mobility scooter and managed to get around the store OK-ish, I have been in much worse. For price I could not find better. would not hesitate to recommend or to use again.

The service I recieved at the Merthyr Tydfil No Frills DIY store was excetional espeacially as the staff were busy

First off there is no point in asking anyone No Frills DIY about anything and no point in disabled people venturing into the shop as its like a major hazard zone.The staff are vague and seem to walk about in a daze without a clue as to what customers are asking, fact is you may as well be asking in Russian.

Generally not bad but would not use for furniture again

No Frills DIY is a great DIY shop. They are part of the Focus chain. A great store!!

Staff at No Frills DIY were not very friendly in my opinion, and the advice when given was not very helpful.
