Bad Customer Service
I have been a long term customer who was happy with their service until now!! Since they’ve changed there rules and regulations they have gone from good to bad in a matter of months. No one calls to collect. I’ve rung repeatedly their customer services and am still none the wiser what’s happening.
Had an agent come tonight as for the past 6 weeks I’ve been trying to top up my loan which I only have a small amount left owing to be told I’m 12 weeks behind on payments and need to bring the arrears down.
Well I’m sorry but this is the fault of provident and not me which I told the agent . 3 or 4 times a week I was on the phone to them and it’s sill my fault.
They have now lost a long term customer as I am now just paying the last payment and I will not be taking anything ther out with them.
Carry on like this and they will loose a lot more custom.
I totally agree .
They are very unprofessional and treat existing and potential customers with no dignity.
Stay away from them.

Took out loan all fine then five weeks with no one calling no texts , letters or phone calls to explain why. Suddenly turn up on doorstep and make out everything is fine and will be back to normal guess what new agent didn't turn up again as arranged.Will never use again ever .I am now taking this further . They charge the rates they do and the service is terrible Never again and I will make sure everyone knows about it too.

Loans offered are really expensive to pay back. Recently they have changed the way they operate, before you would have an agent calling to collect your money each week, 4 weeks have gone by and no agent. Their complaints department promises to get back to you in 5 days, no surprises that didn't happen either. In the meantime your credit rating is going down the toilet due to missed payments. I have learned my lesson and will be paying my loan off and will never deal with this miserable company again. Don't be fooled.

I have a friend that i have just had to support to try to get out of debt. on her showing me her Provident book i saw that in November 2016 my friend took out a loan from them and as of today's date 5/4/17 she still has £660 left to pay. I then noticed that my friend took out another loan in February 2017 for over £2000 whilst she still owed a large amount from November 2106. i was gobsmacked that Provident allowed her to take out another loan whilst owing on another. Very irresponsible in lending and they are allowing people to get further and further in to debt

Use Silly Rules To Check Your Affordability
I'm a single parent, unemployed, something came up, I needed £300 asap. Try Provident, tell them I'm a single parent, unemployed etc, they say that shouldn't be a problem as long as I can afford repayments, which I knew I could. Lady came to see me, she lists money coming in and going out, all good. I hand her proof of income and straight away she says the letter is too old. What?? For a company that apparently offers loans to unemployed people, they should know HMRC & Job Centre don't send letters every month confirming your income, they send letters when there are changes to your income, or tax credit year etc. Why didn't they say when I originally called to apply that I need to have this evidence dated after 'x' date? So for that part of my income they couldn't include meaning the "app" the lady was using on her phone said no! What a waste of my time, and theirs maybe. Another case of genuine applicants being affected by those who borrow and don't pay back. Seeing as they send someone to your house, unlike other companies, why don't they treat you as an individual instead of letting their "app" decide. Her attitude soon changed from polite and chatterbox when her "app" told her she wasn't getting commission from me. Couldn't wait to get out the front door.

Applied through broker who sent me to this company,was told I had been accepted for my loan which was great All my problems solved.Not the case I was offer a loan of 200 when I actually was looking for a £2500/£3000 loan so they should not have said my application through my broker was accepted as it clearly was not for what I applied and should have said sorry we can't offer you a loan for the amount you need but can offer you a smaller loan.

This company was brill until i asked for a waver due to financial difficulties. Now they keep giving myself and wife attitude and say you are a liar even though you prove to them youve sent the requested email then give you a rubbish story about guiddlines they say are from f.c.a. which i contacted them they have stated the only guidlines are for loan not waver again you show proof but still a liar

I took out my first provident loan a few weeks ago. Applied online, got phone call 2/3hrs later to arrange visit, came out same day & had my payment.
My agent is absolutely lovely & lives local, we arranged to collect payment on a Friday but when I've had my payment early one phone call & she there within the hour to collect

time and date that suit you best!!!! lol what a joke.. my agent kept saying i work part time this time and date suits me...so its whattime and date suits your agent best...i had £100..£10 per week i paid 12 weeks no prob then paid £40 on 12th to pay off loan. now i cant get another loan coz he has to wait for offer from head office what the beep!! it has been several day's and im thinking he just cant be bothered. very sloppy service and its not when payment best suits you....its when it best suits your agent
