We have been impressed from start to finish with the professional and caring way that Mann Countrywide Estate Agents in Maidstone handled the purchase of our new property. From start to finish the communication was outstanding and the staff were on hand to deal with any queries. Their communications were excellent, keeping us informed on any queries through all stages of the transaction. They provided a personalised service at all times. They have supported with chasing solicitors when required and helped us to get our purchase over the line. Their staff have gone above and beyond to help us progress with the purchase of our house. They have been professional and polite at all times and we cannot recommend enough. We cannot thank them enough. Thank you for everything.

All I Can Say Is Trust The Reviews And Their Reputation
I am honestly shocked that this letting company is still in business. The absolute joke began when we first viewed the property, thanks to COVID by this was after having a video viewing and having signed a contract, and honestly my first thought was we've been taken advantage of. The windows were rotten, garden flooded, there was rubbish in the bins, food over the kitchen, floor dirty, oven broken, mattress was mouldy and actually not the advertised size just a small mattress in a double frame and honestly the list goes on and on. We complained. They gave a half hearted apology and we new we'd made a mistake. Over our tenancy we had no heating, no hot water, a constant leak which meant the garden was constantly flooded, a leak in the kitchen ceiling, hole in bathroom wall, mould, damp, rats and again the list goes on. In the whole time we lived there not one issue was actually fixed, 'we need landlord approval' 'it's not urgent so we will get to it' 'you'll hear from us by tomorrow at 5pm' (and then never hear anything', a workman who came out actually said the house was a genuine health risk, but nothing was ever got to. When we went to leave we tried to speak to them and the office was closed as they decided to go home early. We tried to speak to them multiple times and they fobbed us off, because 'we've reviewed internally and we feel we did everything right'. It got to the point where despite being told by legal aid we could pursue a genuine case against them we just said we don't care we want to get our deposit back and never have to deal with them again. Then came the deposit, the landlords, from what we heard, where horrified by the state of the property and wanted our full deposit. When our evidence was presented they were horrified as they hadn't actually been informed of any of it, and asked 'if this is true why was the property rented in such a state, how did it even get to such a state and why haven't we been told'. We ended up getting our whole deposit without having to go to the deposit scheme, although they did wait until the final day legally after we had to remind them to release the deposit, and the last I heard the landlord was seeking compensation from Mann. Overall it's shocking, I don't think I could tell you one positive from our dealing with them, everyone's attitude sucks, except of course when they want to sign a contract with you, but the second that's done a switch is flipped. All I say is trust the reviews and their reputation throughout Kent, as I've not heard one person who's rented through them speak well of them, I wish I had.

I have been renting in London for over 10 years and I can say with confidence that they are, by a country mile, the worst agents I have EVER had the displeasure of using.
Save yourself the stress, time and money and AVOID them! even 1 star is too generous.

Mann Countrywide Portsmouth are by far the worst housing management company I have ever dealt with. I have previously gone through landlord's directly, and after my experiences with Mann I will NEVER EVER use an agency again. I could not bear the thought. To begin, I enquired about the room advertised on Countrywide's Website and on Zoopla, the large room with drawers etc. And was led to believe this was the room I would be receiving.
It also states the furnishings in the room include a chest of drawers, a wardrobe and a single bed with mattress and a side table.
I queried this on the phone and over email, checking multiple times that there was a bed in the room, I was consistently told yes. I paid my deposit and attended the house, when I turned up, there was no bed, it was a different room and the only furniture present was a wardrobe. I called the property manager and he, frankly, was quite disgusting to me on the phone so I returned his tone. They arranged that I could have a reduction on rent for October in order to afford the bed + furniture that they had advertised as being in there...This was approved and I have now received a letter claiming I am in arrears...I am mortified by the unprofessionalism and lack of communication of this agency. Secondly, the blind in the room I have is broken - it fell on my head in it's entirety when I was underneath it, sat on my bed, and caused a migraine. I wish I had taken serious action because it is abominable that they allowed the blind to get to the point that it was falling off the wall, when I have been informed by the previous occupants of the room it has been broken since they occupied the room...almost a year...and despite efforts to request its fixing, Mann do not care enough. It is dangerous and still remains unfixed! I believe this is actually a breach of the covenant of quiet enjoyment and I am consider reporting to the authorities because I am already losing patience and it is only month 2 of my occupancy. I have discussed the situation with the council and they have informed me that I can launch an investigation, if I so wish to proceed...
Thirdly, I was experiencing harassment from another occupant regarding having my partner stay in my room once a week, which is well within my right, in the terms of the contract and the covenant of quiet enjoyment. She was incredibly out of order and it was distressing, so I requested that the agency email all of the tenants outlining our rights about having overnight guests to prevent escalation or further hostility in the house. I sent about 4 emails with no response, and it took me threatening to call the police to report harassment before they wrote a lousy, effortless one sentence email stating we could have visitors twice a week when in actual fact the tenancy agreement states three nights...they couldn't even be bothered to record the correct facts!
I have requested details for the landlord as there is no response on serious issues from the "property manager" this request has been completely ignored. I understand that the property is allegedly in the estate agents management... but I am aware that in situations such as these, when I am being blatantly ignored, as per my conversation with the council, I should have some contact with the landlord available to me. Fourth, I have been told it is a fight to get your deposit back and if this is the case I will go to tribunal as the room is, and will remain, in exactly the condition it was when I turned up. I honestly cannot believe how abysmal my experience with this agency has been and I urge anyone to steer clear, particularly of the Portsmouth Branch.

Appalling Letting Agents
This company are probably the worst and least honest letting agent in the UK, very high turnover of staff quite rare to speak to the same person twice, through their complete incompetence it has just cost me over four thousand to clean property as they had not been acting on checks to property as the tenant had denied access for over eight years even though I requested them and failed to act

Problems from the beginning. Wouldn't put forward my offer to the landlord as we were told by one of the agents (I know him and he wouldn't accept offer) straight away going against our customer rights. Then I counter offered without knowing if the first one would go though, only to find out no one had even put an offer into the landlord, then to find out there supposedly was another person already in the process of referencing - which I'm thinking is a lie as you could let potential tenants there is competition to get a higher bid! To then being pushed into taking the property a month earlier than I wanted. Then they messed up the referencing, to then finally getting to move in to get one door key and nothing else....like, a second door key? a back door key, key to the garage etc. which is a fire hazard. You can't just be given one key! Issues still on-going where the blame is being pushed in the landlords direction. But the thing is, I am in contact with the land lord and there is no issue there. I'm sure there are more things I have missed off the list, oh just remembered another one. The gas was cut off for two days! I had to get a plumber my self to confirm this but you would expect something like that to be checked by the agent before they hand any keys over - or in my case just the one key!

Incompetent
My sale started off well and I was satisfied. Then the person dealing with my sale went absent and none of his colleagues considered it necessary to check and deal with his correspndence in his absence (for a week). This didn't happen once, but twice. I received feeble apologies on both occasions. My Solicitor and myself were doing all the work (chasing/gaining information etc). The agents were completely useless and only interested in one thing - their inflated rate of commission. Never again and I would not even wish them on my worst enemy.

Worse letting agency I have ever dealt with, so unprofessional, they only care about the landlord and do not give a ... about the tenants. My management agent is so rude every time we talk and we have had so many problems since we moved in, which they have not fixed. They always take really long in getting back to me. They charge incredibly high fees (£700) for the service they offer afterwards...
AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!!!
