Goodmans GCE 7007 DAB

I was in to dab over a year ago when I saw this unit, it was well worth the money £39.99+vat price of an ariel taken out from box there was no problem at all works straight away, there was alot of radio dab station, for that amount of money I would say go for it.

It comes with 2 year warranty, if it gets nicked, goodmans replace it!

Goodmans GCE 7007 DAB

I bought this on a whim, I was after a cheap radio/CD player, and Makro had them in stock, but displayed next to them were the Goodmans GCE7007DAB, at an unbelievable price. I was a little apprehensive because I didn't want to have to change my aerial, but they claim you don't need to. It is easy to fit, if like me you have an ISO socketed car (may need a DIN to ISO aerial adapter), sadly I lost the remote control via the steering wheel. No provision.

The first fascia wouldn't light up, so it was replaced no problem, the second one doesn't always recognise the DAB signal, and it just freezes without scanning for channels. I will give it some time, and if the problem is still there, I will replace it.

On the good side, the FM reception is great, and the sound quality is excellent on both the FM radio and the CD player (pity it's not MP3). The DAB reception, when working, is as it should be, and clear, but it does suffer from 'bubbling'!! Maybe it really does need a DAB aerial! Still, at a fraction of the price of the rivals, it is well worth the money if you buy one, and if you don't have my problems.
