Be Aware when Leaving Hosting UK. £11,000 worth of bills when we are out of contract.

After being a good customer of Hosting UK for well over 2 years, their treatment of us, after we notified them that we were terminating services, has been disgusting and unacceptable.

We rented 2x dedicated servers from Hosting UK on a fully managed service.

After an incident with hardware failure that Hosting UK failed to recognise before we did, we decided to co-locate instead. We didn't feel that we were getting the fully managed service we were paying for at that stage.

We gave Hosting UK 30 days notice of termination as we were well out of the 1 year contract agreement. This is very fair because we paid 1 month in advance anyway.

The person I dealt with of hosting UK claims that there is some sort of renewal

anniversary that we have not been made aware of in any way . We specifically asked him for a 1 year contract from the outset.

Due to this, Hosting UK are pursing payments for a further 6 months worth of invoicing, even though we are 1.5 years out of contract and do not require the service anymore. This equates to over £8,000 worth of hosting that is not required.

Hosting UK also billed us a £3000 invoice on the same day that we notified them of termination.

The conduct and behaviour of the person I dealt with of Hosting UK has been appalling. He knows full well that we asked for a 1 year contract and he has not discussed any renewals with us until after we terminated our service.

Had our contract been genuinely renewed, we should have at least been notified.

We do not recommend Hosting UK to anybody in any circumstances.

The staff are great and have a fantastic technical knowledge.

I have had the most horrific and stressful experience with this group company. I signed up to a cPanel Managed Hosting package with HostingUK (a part of EasySpace Ltd) and they offer a “30 Day Money Back Guarantee” which excludes packages from the “Dedicated Services” and “VPS” tabs which is fine, my package was from the “cPanel Hosting” tab.

Their team were unable to assist me with the data transfer from my old host and a 3rd party I paid also said data loss was inevitable - nobody could help me move 25Gb of critical data. So I exercised my right to the 30 Day Money Back Guarantee and asked to cancel my services as I had no alternative but to stay with my current host.

These guys ignored my cancellation email and continued to charge me.. when I pulled them up on this, the advisor told me he didn’t get any email from me, so I forwarded it to him and he said oh well he would have to pass it to accounts and let them decide in a few days - I heard nothing back from these guys after that.. not that I was surprised.

The following month I got another invoice from them and noticed more debits from my account.. when I contacted them again, he changed his tune and was oblivious to any cancellation request and said I will continue to be charged. It’s not even a direct debit that I can cancel, they kept my card details on file and will continue to charge me each month.

When i claimed a chargeback with my bank they threatened court action and said regardless of whether I use their services or NOT… they expect me to pay for the FULL TWO YEARS of service even though I cannot use it.

I have tried countless times to reason with them, offered them to keep what they’ve taken and just cancel my service and so fourth but they’ve come back with no settlement, no solution, nothing.. quite bluntly pay up or expect court action.

I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.. there are so many genuinely good hosting companies out there that I have spoken to before, I’ve been in the industry for 15 years now and this is the FIRST COMPANY I have ever found to act in such way and hold someone to such a contract.

Worst company I have ever dealt with in my life… AVOID THESE GUYS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

The Mail Exchange platform is great, I have been using it now for 4 years and have had no down time, its easy to add new mailboxes and manage accounts.

I used support for the first time today and I have to admit I am extremely impressed

The server i just purchased was having problems (caused by me) I called support and they restored to default, I fixed my problems and its now operational. Great team, great service, great price

I havechanged my web content to give me a new site. I uploaded it as per instructions but the changes were not live. Support told me to ctrl+f5 in my browser to refresh and it displayed the fantastic new site
