Well Its Taken Six Days, But Tomorrow I Will Caref

Well its taken six days, but tomorrow I will carefully wash my beloved diamante emblazoned Puppy Love Donny Osmond t-shirt... Oh wasn't he fab?! Not only giving us flashbacks to his (and our!) youth, but also reminding us he can still sing, and indeed write beautiful love songs, even if I begrudgingly acknowledge they were written for Mrs Donny Osmond! He had us crying, swaying, singing and dancing in the aisles.

Donny told stories of how Puppy Love had practically haunted him for years, but now concedes it is part of him and his youth - yes Donny - and ours - thank you for acknowledging this - don't stop singing it, or the fantastic new songs either, and I for one will try to look a little more attractive in my (just a little bit) too tight souvenir t-shirt for your next tour date. Let's hope it doesn't shrink in the wash.

Aaaah I'm Still Swooning With A Teenage-like Crus

Aaaah I'm still swooning with a teenage-like crush after sampling the delights of another Donny Osmond concert at the NEC last night. He has an incredible ability to make each member of his audiences feel special, and that entertaining us is always a joy and never a chore.

I was delighted when he opened with my current favourite track from his latest album 'Keep Her in Mind', and then proceeded to slide seamlessly between the eras of his career, covering all the old favourites as well as his contemporary tunes. You can be sure there was something there to please all those women of a certain age, right up to the encore where he continued with 'Soldier of Love' and finished with 'Crazy Horses'.

We were more than willing to forgive him when he forgot the words to the very first song he sang on the Andy Williams Show (at the age of five!). At least he's not infallible, and it's reassuring to know that that age thing affects even the stars! He reacted with good humour to a party popper rocket that was discharged extremely close to him as he sang at the edge of the stage, and of course carried on without missing a note.

Several captivating video clips from days gone by were used as a backdrop, which Donny used to accompany the relevant numbers. For most of the time we were on our feet dancing, but at the recognition of the first line of one of his dreamy ballads, a Mexican type wave of fans taking to their seats was witnessed as we settled to soak up his words in a trance-like state.

As for the merchandise, it was much improved on the last couple of tours, and I shall be wearing my diamante worded 'Puppy Love' t-shirt with pride at work tomorrow.

This man just gets better and better. Donny has got many years of touring left in him. Let's hope he doesn't make us wait too long for his next dates.
