Very Happy With Go Sim

I have used Go-SIM for more than 5 years without any problems. All the services, Talk, Text, and Data have been excellent. During this time I have traveled to France, Germany, England, Scotland, Italy, and Spain. I did not experience any problems no matter which country I was in. I called back to the USA and my family called me from the USA and the results were as promised. The app is also convenient.

Appalling Customer Service

I haven't even used my SIM yet but I already have to give a bad review. Ordered the wrong item in error, phoned to cancel the order, was assured it was cancelled and that I could order another item, but in fact it was not, I was duly charged and the wrong item delivered. Fortunately my instincts told me not to place a second order in haste. Customer service is in US, clearly no communication with UK office. Customer service was highly rated which is why I chose this SIM. Otherwise it has no advantages as calling costs are not cheap. I advise people to leave this alone and buy a SIM that is better value, since the customer service advantage is non-existent.

Please provide us with that return number. The Customer Administration Manager will personally follow up with this.

I did request a refund, obtained a returns authorization number, which I wrote on the return envelope as instructed. Returned SIM card to the address e-mailed to me; the addressee apparently refused to accept delivery and the SIM card is on its way back to me. This beggars belief. I have called customer services in the US, they assure me I will receive a refund and that I no longer need to return the SIM card. So far, my experience is getting worse. I wish it were not so.

Hello. If you have not yet requested a refund, please email us and we will provide you with a return authorization number.

Great Value, Great Network

I have now had a GO-SIM for almost 18 months and have found it invaluable when travelling overseas in countries such as NZ, Vietnam, Italy, UK, France. The network reception has been excellent and the call costs low.

Don't Buy This If You Have An Iphone

If you have an iPhone DO NOT BUY this card!! What happens is the company knows there is an incompatibility issue but they sell it anyways. The issues is that every few minutes a message pops up that says,”Where are you - rest of word or North America”. You click wherever you are. The message goes away and then a moment later comes back. When the message is there it keeps the screen lit, running down your battery. So the bottom line is, you will use your battery very quick.

And when I asked them about this they said it’s a known incompatibility. So I asked them for a refund but they told me they don’t do refunds! I normally don’t write reviews like this but when a company continues to sell a product they know has a problem, and then won’t refund the price, people need to know.

Gosim Works

We purchased a GoSIM for our trip to Europe last year - it worked great - no problems at all. Have just received a reminder from them that it will expire soon unless we use it or top-up. We are going back to Italy again this year and so I am about to top-up our GoSIM minutes ready for our next trip!

Stolen Credit

This seems a good idea if you need a phone on holiday and want to avioid roaming charges, especially for incoming calls. The problem is after 6 months they take all your credit. Few of us can afford to holiday abroad more that once evry six months. So you are left stranded, In my case I needed a phone for emergency purposes having an elderly ill relative. This theft left her unprotected. The company refuse to refund the credit. Avoid at all cost

Hello bertieandbrenda,

We recommend that you make an outbound call, SMS, or recharge your service once every six months in order to avoid your balance from expiring. This can be done from the country you live in as we have coverage in over 180 different countries. If your balance expires, you can get it instated after recharging your service for $30.00.

Perfect For Travelling

I purchased the International Sim Card from go-sim before my trip to Europe. I bought the package with 50$ airtime, it is an awesome amazing deal. It was great and the best solution to stay in touch with my family. I landed in France where I had great coverage and service. I used it then in Spain and stayed in touch with the family using text messages and calls. The rates for calls and messages are fair and the description is clear. The rates for data are expensive I think but it is due to the carriers but if you are on a trip and would like to stay in touch with family and friends this is the best solution. The delivery was quick and the shipping fees are fair. Also, if you call the customer service they are very helpful. I just found out about the app that can be downloaded on your phone to recharge and manage your account and it is amazing. Now if you do not choose the auto recharge option and spend all your credits all you need is to stop by any cafe or restaurant offering free wifi to manage your account with the app and reload.

Thanks for the great priceless product

Not Recommended For Iphone

I bought this SIM to use whilst travelling in Japan. It was actually pretty useless - it continually pops up a dialogue asking if you're in the USA or 'Rest of World', and until you answer it stops your iPhone going to sleep. Pretty much every day it managed to drain the entire battery within a few hours of leaving the hotel, without me even using it!

The response from customer service was "yes, this happens".

The only time I did actually manage to use the phone and get an incoming call, there was corruption in the audio and the person at the other end could not hear me properly.

This Is A Great Phone

This is a great little phone. I have not had a chance to use it overseas yet, but it has worked well for me in the US. I even recommended it to my sister and she and her husband got one for the trip they are one right now. So far there is nothing I don't like about this phone.

Quick Delivery, Easy To Use, Helpful Customer Service

It was very straightforward to navigate the website and to purchase the relevant (International) SIM card for around £20 (including delivery). Delivery was very fast - I received the SIM within just a few days of placing my order. I spoke to a customer service adviser on the phone as I had mistyped part of my postal address and they were very friendly and helpful to me and there to clarify any potential queries that I had. The corresponding app on my phone enables me to easily view my balance and then top up my SIM card if it's running low on funds. Maybe it could be slightly cheaper but when you consider the fact that part of the initial price includes $10 phone credit, it would be very harsh of me to bracket this as a serious concern. So in a nutshell, it's very good value and I couldn't ask for better customer service - therefore I'll definitely be recommending to my family and friends!

Q&A

Poiter

I have just activated my Gosim prepaid in Australia and keep getting a "sending USSD" display & immediately after a "Request not completed" display. This interrupted me while adding contacts. The message attempts to resend evey 60 seconds.

Do I need this, or how can I change this to run silently in the background without it interrupting what ever I happen to be doing on the phone?

Many thanks.

Matt_Ford

Not sure - I had a GoSim but didn't have this problem.

Since then I have usually purchased SIMs at th airport in countries I visit - it is much cheaper !! I found the GoSim worked fine, but it cost somewhere in between the astronomical rates charges by Australian telcos and the normal rates of the local telcos in whatever country. And, overseas SIMs have usually been very reliable.
