These Speakers Blew-away Bose Speakers... I Listen
These speakers blew-away Bose speakers... I listened to both brands at best buy before I bought these. Was high priced, but well worth every penny!!!
I found this review very helpful because... i have never heard of these speakers before, I had heard of BOSE. Great to hear an opinion, not a sales person as to how good they are.
Thanks, Peter

While Researching My Surround Sound Speakers, I Wa
While researching my surround sound speakers, I was torn between the Klipsch Quintet, and the Bose acoustimass. Listening to the 2 systems in the store revealed little difference - slight edge to Bose. I decided on the Qunitets - largely due to the $$. Now that I have had a chance to listen to them at home, I have some comments. The Qunitets are very versatile in their mounting/placement, and have provided satisfactory sound. The KSW-10 Sub woofer carries big bass and is fairly impressive. The sattelites are a bit disappointing at times though.
I was informed the quintets would sparkle when listening to horns and highs. That was no lie...After listening to some average sounding classic rock, I popped in the Original Star Wars sound track. I turned the volume up a notch, and was blown away - I thought the London Symphony Orchestra was in my living room! I heard sounds I had never heard before on the CD - The horns jumped out of the speakers with authority. I turned the volume up a bit more, which did not bother the quintets in the least. However, I am a bit diappointed with the sounds of other music that I listen to. The instruments seem flat and dull. Television sound is pleasurable - especially in HD.
I am in the process of hooking up the DVD to a new reciever that handles digital audio input, so I can't speak to that aspect. Overall I am happy with the Quintet system, but there are times when I wonder if the Acoustimass would have been the way to go - especially when crisp bass is needed.

The Klipsch Quintets Are Amazing At Producing Loud
The Klipsch Quintets are amazing at producing loud clear sound for movies or pop music. They need a subwoofer that can extend a little higher then usual (about 130hz) to really shine. They don't do especially well with classical music or other types of music that benefit from spot on imaging. But for the price, I paid $80 a pair, you cant beat them, especially for their size.
I found this review very helpful because... I had never heard of these speakers, though I had heard of BOSE. Without hearing speakers yourself it is great to read why they are good or not, especially comparing the genre of music. thanks, Peter
