A Kávéfőzők Királya!

8 éve használom ezt a csoda kávéfőzőt! Soha, sehol senki, nem tud nekem olyan finom, ízletes, vastaghabos kávét készíteni, min Ő! Imádom a különleges formáját is! Egyszerűen nem tudok meglenni nélküle!

Makes Awesome Espresso But Not For Hard Water

This machine will clog easily with hard water. The pump will have to be replaced quickly. I have the Villaware V41006. I purchased it used and the family lived in the city and had soft water. I am on a well with hard water. This machine lived for about 2 months and then started pumping really slow. I cleaned it with 50/50 mix of water and vinegar as recommended. It worked again for about a week and then no output. After several attempts to clean it again, it finally stopped even making a noise from the pump. I removed the shower head to see if that was the problem and it was only 10% clogged so the pump is going to have to be replaced. That is my next project.

A Good Machine But Seems To Be Very Sensitive To Limescale.

We have our machine for approx 6yrs now but we only use it on and off and nearly always made the coffee with filtered water. The last few times it was used it had started to go very slowly with only a dribble coming out of the expresso part of the machine. The area that we live in does not have particularly hard water but I decided to try and descale it to see if that would help the flow which at this stage had stopped totally. I used a mixture of lemon juice and bottled water and kept the machine running until I got a few drops to come out of the machine. I then left the water sitting in the machine for an hour before switching it back on again, this time the lemon mixture flowed freely through the machine. I put the mixture through the machine a few more times and now it's as good as new.

I think the machine is extremely sensitive to limescale so maybe try this first before giving up on your machine.

The special tool is called a spanner ... You can get it form grainger and you need a size 14.

I purchased the screwdriver bit insert for like $2.50. As a suggestion, turn it slightly in the tightening direction at first before attempting to unscrew like normal. The lime scale builds up on the threads and makes it difficult to unscrew. This could cause the bit to break or the bolt head to break/strip out.

I removed my shower head to find that it was only clogged about 10%. It is the pump that gets clogged. It will have to be replaced.

Good luck with getting the steam lever removed because that is where I am in the project. It seems that it must be pressed on or something. I have tried to unscrew the lever from the valve but it appears that it doesn't unscrew

We've had ours for 4 years, and for the last 3 years, its slowed from a dribble to no water flowing at all, and the part that sprays the pressurised water out, does not seem to be removable (or at least not without a special tool). We've regularly descaled it.

Strange there's no mention of this issue and a fix, anywhere on the net- quite a shame, it made great coffee to start with

We have very hard well water. Hopefully this is the problem with my machine, as well. The lemon mixture is sitting in it as I type!! Thanks!

After A Year And A Half It's Completely Seized Up.

after a year and a half it's completely seized up. Shame as it's a good looking piece of kit and worked ok before but now think it's fit for the scrap heap!

Had Mine For Over 2 Years And Have Been Using Most

Had mine for over 2 years and have been using mostly every day for my morning boost. Top notch creme every time. It does drip a bit after use, but all machines that use a basket will. Its started topl play up a bit now, but i think its to with the basket being clogged up, I'll try the ESE pod adapter I'm sure that will work. Overall great value

I've Used The Es547 Cafe Retro Espresso Machine Fo

I've used the ES547 Cafe Retro Espresso machine for about 4 years now and it does its job.... I'm sure there are machines out there that make a perfect cup of Cappa with out making as much of a mess as the Kenwood. I'm also sure they will cost much much more then the sale price of £80 I paid so I give the machine top marks. It's also very important to de-scale the machine every three months or the performance of the machine suffers to a standstill. When steaming the milk many noobies don't understand how this is done! You insert the steaming pipe way into the cup to heat the milk. Then ease the pipe out to the top of the cup to maximise the froff on top. The perfect cup of coffee. Overall for a budget machine I'm giving it top marks!
