Are We There Yet?

Technical problems caused a delay at Dubai over 17 hours (current estimate). Landed at 3.45 am finally into a hotel at 10.30 am, shuffled from far end of Concourse C to a hotel in Concourse A. Don't expect any priority or service just because you have taken a business class fare.

Last communication with any Royal Brunei staff at 8.00 am this morning and none expected before 10 pm this evening. Airline cannot be contacted by email or phone either in Dubai or Melbourne.

Hoping they know where we are so that we contemplate the possibility of continuing our journey home.

Technical issues may be just one of those things but communications blackout is unacceptable.

Booked A Return Flight. Price Was Very Good, Infli

Booked a return flight. Price was very good, inflight entertainment is not well functioned, food was ok too. Flight delayed for 2 hours, we all just waited inside the plane without anything to do. I supposed to have my return flight on monday, but it was canceled, they retimed my flight to friday, delayed my schedule for 5 days and gave me nothing. Very bad service.

Low Price, High Service.

low price was attraction, have flown 12 different airlines, Royal Brunei excellent service, above average airline food, exceptionally clean toilets, staff clean non stop. no chance of dehydration as staff continually pass thru cabin with drinks, exceptionally polite crew and all our flights were on time, all 6 of them, great airline would fly again.

Rba Good Service At Cheap Price

Recently took a Flight with Royal Brunei Airlines, from London Heathrow to Manila and back with them 3 weeks later.

I looked for a cheap flight as budget was limited and the more I spent on my flight the less I had to spend on my Holiday.

I expected maybe there would be problems as was a budget cheap flight and well I thought to myself I would be OK and happy to accept a few problems.

Well I was surprised with the service it was really good, yes the 777 Showed a little wear on the seats its a older plane and been around a few years now and I think there Ex Singapore Airlines

Planes on lease, the flight from Brunei to Manila both ways was a A320 and looked new and again no problems.

The in-flight Service was very good flight crew were very polite helpful and food was really good,

had nothing to moan about entertainment system worked well, no one seemed to have any

problems from the chat going on around me all were happy.

I have been on 6 different Airlines when going to and from Far East and at the price I had no reason to moan or complain..

Would I use them Again Yes for sure, do I expect things to be perfect NO, if I was looking for perfection I would pay another £250 to £300 on my round trip flight costs.

Stewards Ignored My Malfunctioning Entertainment Service.

I had an awful flight with Air Brunei. Apart from the food being rubbish and the being seats only OK, my media system was screwed and I needed to get out of my seat TWICE to fetch a steward as they IGNORED the bell that I pressed at least four times... to no avail. And yet, even after physically getting out of my middle seat and speaking to attendants, I was still ignored and nobody seemed to care. Only when one good stewardess took notice of my infuriation did they try to fix it, but to no avail, and for the remainder of the seven hour flight I was stuck with magazines only. It's not just that the media system didn't work (mine was apparently the only one that didn't), it's that the stewards did a good job of IGNORING me as a passenger, even when I was polite and even when I got angry.

If they're a lot cheaper than a more reputable airline, then fly with Royal Brunei, but if there's not much in it, go with another carrier. Better service means safer service. Royal Brunei have BAD service.

They have no power to fix it its down to the Ground tech crew to fix it

London - Dubai - Brunei - Manila...and Back - Good Value

First time I have RB, and to be honest quite impressed for the price I paid. The planes are a little old, been told they lease older stock from Singapore Airlines.

The entertainment was limited, but worked ok, The food was excellent, Cabin Staff friendly and attentive.

The one hour stop in Dubai was a little chaotic, and can imagine some passengers getting lost as they try to find their way back to the plane.

Brunei Airport has very few facilities ...including NO SMOKING ROOM...so beware, but they will let you go through customs to have a smoke ..

All in all good flights and will, if the price is good, will fly with them again.

They are not in the same league as Qatar, Emr'ts or Singapore Airlines, but for the price, good value.

Very Good Service

This is the first time i have used Royal Brunei and must admit for a low budget airline the food ,assistance and nature or the staff was superb other than my gripe below

I have only one moan and that is i asked the air hostess as there were available seats further down the plain if i could move and was told this would not be a problem and to wait a second to then see 2 other people who got on the plain after me move to the seats ,when i asked what was happening i was told they moved quicker!! I then said well i asked and was then told i should have just moved!!so if you want to move then just move

Malfunction Inflight Entertainment. I Feel Being Cheated!!

I just took my 14-hours London-Brunei flight with this airline. It's a total disappointment! My inflight entertainment (the video set) did not work. I asked the cabin crew to fix the system & they rebooted the system 3 times but still couldn't get it to come alive! Worse still, they do not follow up with the issues. My friend and I are facing the same problem with the inflight  entertainment and yet they only manage to find 1 vacant seat with functioning inflight entertainment for either one of us. They told us the other would have to bear with the problem. Mind that it is a 14-hours flight,

The crew has no initiative to find other solutions to this problem. Their attitude towards it is they couldn't do anything else if they cant fix the system. I'd expect them to take on the issue more seriously and suggest alternatives to keep us entertained. Sadly, the way they see this issue is more like 'I'm not so interested to fix this small problem of yours. Come on, just bear with it!'

Feeling hopeless & disappointed with their problem-solving skill, i finally suggested them to provide me some magazines. Reluctantly, they gave a few copies to me.

We managed to find out from the cabin crew leader that this plane has at least 10 seats with malfunction inflight entertainment. I guess that's why they only managed to find us the last seat with the entertainment set which still works!

To make matter worse, we were told this is a reoccurring issue on this flight!!

It means that Royal Brunei Airline is willing to sacrifice the comfort of its guests for their own sake. It also shows that they do not prioritise & look into this problem seriously. If they'd done so, I guess the entertainment sets would have been properly serviced & maintained. And if Royal Brunei Airline care enough for its customers, they would have stop selling the seats with faulty set to its customers mind that it is not a low-cost carrier!

I feel cheated by the airline. Using my hard-earned money, I have paid for my tickets and yet I do not get to enjoy this long-haul flight like the other customers who has paid the same fare as I did. The ticket price of mine has covered this facility as part of the fare and yet I went without it during the 14-hours! You couldn't imagined how bored I was to just eat & trying to put myself into sleep over the 14-hours!

PS: I have also read almost all the news in the 2 copies of newspapers during the flight to keep myself occupied.

This is my first time taking Royal Brunei Airline and I will never use their service anymore.

I think for you who's reading this incident of mine will make a wise choice & be a smart consumer to get for what you have paid.

I had exactly the same problem and the stewards ignored me. I had to get out of my seat twice to get their attention and even then they didn't care to do anything. There aren't enough stewards on the flights, which seems unsafe to me. I'll only fly with this airline again if they're MUCH cheaper than the next option. Treat Royal Brunei like a budget airline and you'll be satisfied. Compare to Emirates or a similar carrier, and you'll be hugely disappointed.

Flightmaster

In my view Yes ideally the In Flight entertainment system should work but just like the loo’s they don’t always work as intended.

But asking the cabin crew to fix it is a bit like asking them to fly the plane all they can do and did do was to reboot it and see if that fixed it, apart from that there is nothing they can do & only a

Engineer could fix it, its a budget airline don’t expect miracles , all they can do is flag it as a fault

& hopefully it will be looked at after all the essential plane maintenance is done, don’t think you

will find in flight entertainment is a right its just an extra they provide & people have got use to having...

Good Value & Service

Have flown a few times with Royal Brunei now and must say the service for price is the best i've encountered anywhere. The only thing some may find off putting is the fact it is a "Dry" airline but this didn't worry me and all other aspects of my dealings with them have been very positive. I'll definately fly with them again.
