These Most Likely Will Never Be Popular In The Us.
My friends ride Harleys, but the Vespa has a certain cachet that fast loud motorcycles will never have. I use it for grocery shopping every day in summer. The bucket under the seat holds plenty and I found that scootering is handier and more fun than bicycling. I really like the LX50 4T and I may add some extras later. I owned a Honda Passport, a 50cc mini and a Puch, but they weren't nearly as nice or as fast.

Well I Bought The Vespa Lx 50cc Model And It Is Ab
Well I bought the Vespa LX 50cc model and it is absolutely fantastic. Piaggio have outdone themselves with the new LX model. I last rode the Vespa in 1974 whilst at school in Rome, it was a manual and very peeky.
But now, wow what fun, what handling, what style and design, and what petrol consumption. Wonderful indeed. Plenty of power for a city scooter. Just remember to give way to everything, as Australian road users are not used to scooters being on our roads and seem to think they have priority. This is unfortunate as fellow Aussies need to share the road and not override scooter commuters. Happy scoot'in. We love the Gong as free scooter parking has popped up all over the city. What forethought for the WCC.

Love My Vespa Lx50.only Had It A Couple Of Months
Love my vespa lx50.Only had it a couple of months and find it smooth and easy to ride.Bought it second hand and its done quite a lot of miles but the last owner looked after her well and i am sure theres still a lot of scootering left in it yet.
I would tell anyone looking for a first scooter to get the vespa LX.The body is smaller than the other vespas and so lighter and easy to handle.
I am glad i spent the money on a secondhand vespa rather than the same amount on a new flimsey bodied cheap model of scoot.Vespas hold their value.

I've Had My Vespa Lx50 For Nearly A Month And Love
I've had my Vespa LX50 for nearly a month and love nipping around London on it. It's perfect, if like me, you're a novice scooter rider and only have short distances in town to make (anything more than 10 miles and you're pushing it a bit).
The bike looks stylish, is a doddle to ride thanks to automatic transmission and has great acceleration (0-20 in about 2 seconds), however the restriction on the speed is a big limitation - only being able to do 27 mph means you feel embarrassed on clear roads when you're holding back frustrated drivers and other scooters race past you.
I'm going to get mine de-restricted when I take it in for its first 1,000 km service.
Fuel consumtion is good. I stick about a fiver in once or twice a week and this gets me about 10 miles a day.
My only other gripe with the LX50 is the centre stand. If you're not used to bikes it's quite a tricky manoeuvre getting it on the stand and it took me ages (and lots of sore arms and shoulders) to get the hang of it.
Apart from that I'm very pleased with my purchase and will take good care of her (I've seen a few LX's only a couple of years old on the road looking very rusty and beaten up). Hopefully mine will last.
Hi, you mentioned something about how far you travel. Is that for every PIAGGIO VESPA LX50 50cc or just one or two. If i get one the main place I will be about 7.1 miles from my house. (Sheffield to Clowne) I might also take it to college (Chesterfield), do you reckon that would be okay or would i be better off with a car? x

I Completely Recommend This Scooter. I Was Worried
I completely recommend this scooter. I was worried that a 50cc scooter wouldn't be powerful enough. It is a little slow sometimes on takeoff, but usually it's not a problem. I've easily gone up hills, also have taken riders - making the weight of the passengers 400 lbs, still keeps scooting!

Had My Lx50 About.. Three Weeks Now? Unfortunately
Had my LX50 about.. Three weeks now? Unfortunately through no fault of my own I am now having to finance £300 worth of repairs.
That aside the LX50 for me has been phenomenal. The ride comfort is sensational. The scooter to look at is.. Stunning to say the least. I find that it is rather slow and the fuel consumption is a little heavy when used daily.
However neither of these put me off and I absolutely adore my LX50.
I found this review not helpful because... the owner said it needed a bunch of repairs but didn't say why.

I Bought This Scoot Summer Of 2006. I've Put On Ab
I bought this scoot summer of 2006. I've put on about 1100 miles since then. The New England winters don't allow too much riding, so I pretty much bring it out end of April and ride until the end of October. It's a BLAST! I won't have it for a couple of days while the upgrades are added -- that should help with the hills and keeping up with traffic. I wasn't so interested in added speed as I am with more initial acceleration and torque going up hills. Don't know yet how it will affect my gas mileage, but from what I've read, it won't be by much, and apparently the Malossi parts are much more rugged and built to better specs than the factory parts. I take this scoot everywhere! Really have to watch for potholes, because it's so jarring, but other than that, it's a very well balanced scoot, easy and lots of fun to ride. Highly recommended for commuting, going grocery shopping (I put a wire basket and cargo net on my back rack, and I can fit a huge amount of groceries in there!). Don't need a license here in Massachusetts, nor do I need insurance. I get to park it anywhere a bicycle can park, so it's really great in the city.
Q&A
Would love some advice! Never looked into having a scooter (have always wanted a vespa), however my friend is selling her vespa LX50 and is offering me 1600 for it. It looks beautiful and is in very good condition. My worry is that I am a student living away from home so it would most likely be kept at home and only be used in holiday time which is most of the year. I have savings so I can afford to pay for I as well as insurance and helmet. The road tax and mot are done for the rest of the year also. I have also done research into the petrol consumption and seems very affordable. I reckon if I were to sell again I would get most of my money back also. I would like opinions and advice because I don't want to buy it and then not get the use out of it. But yeah general advice and thoughts would be great. I already have a place for it to be stored it I have it at home or uni also. Please could anyone just give me their thoughts? Thank you (:
