It's Hope's "trials" Specific Disc Brake And Altho

It's hope's "trials" specific disc brake and although its now been released in a rear brake as many people are starting to run a rear disc in trials (because frames have improved and disc brakes are less likely to rip the drop out off your frame given the different forces involved in trials to what a frame normally copes with in normal riding) this review is from when I used it as a front brake! A move over from a front rim brake to a disc brake is an en-lighting feeling, the power is better, stoppies become even easier and there's less work in keeping it serviced as I found the pads lasted a long time, however they did take a long time to bed in, leading to some displeased members of the public while travelling down main street on a Saturday afternoon but it is better they hear you coming instead of walking out in front of you. With braided hoses as standard on hope brakes they not only look better but have a better life than standard hoses not to mention a better resistance to water seepage that I've came across on previous disc brakes with normal hoses, Easy to set up but a little thing that annoyed me was the fact for some reason mine rubs bit seemingly when they heat up, although I can remember buying mine new for £125 last year and this year (2009) they're £150 so shop around! A great brake if you can get the price down a bit more! Although for beginners a rim brake is less easy to damage!
