Anoying Spoke Problem - But Otherwise Excellent.
I love this bike. It has excellent componentry for the money and the finish is really good.
I do approx 120 miles per week on road over varying elevations sometimes riding quite hard and the bike has developed an anoying habit of snapping spokes. I think it's a week point on this bike due to torque loading in opossite direction from power assist acceleration and de-celeration through the disc brake. I have broken 4 spokes so far and the dealer says I'm not toqueing the spokes correctly and. I'm competent at wheel building but even let my local build specialist have a look and re torqued the spokes for me - still broke a spoke on a 30 mile ride the next day. I'm not a light weight at 16 stone but would have hoped the bike more than capable of coping. Considering having the hub drilled and and respoked with heavier guage spokes - Not ideal.

There Were A Couple Of Reasons Why Bought This Bi
There were a couple of reasons why bought this bike. Firstly it looked great and all my mates are amazed by the way it looks (neighbour thinking about buying it too). Secondly it was quite well priced for the specs and the 13Ah battery allows to easily cover 45 miles. It's more than enough. In reality the bike performs superb and I absolutely love riding it, getting up the hills is a piece of cake and in fact I use it more frequently than the regular push bike. Superb product

Very Well Thought-out Bike Made From Quality Compo
Very well thought-out bike made from quality components that come together very well to make a bike that is a pleasure to ride. At this price point it's lighter than other bikes, has a longer range, is made from better quality parts and is better looking!
It has both pedal-assist and throttle (no pedalling required!) modes. The battery locks in place or pulls out quite easily (have to remove the saddle first). The wired-in lights are a nice finishing touch.
It's a bike that's fun to ride, very well balanced, and just happens to be an electric one - unlike the clunky things that most electric bikes are.
I paid the bit extra to get the Schalwbe tyres because they're reputed to have excellent puncture resistance.

I Own Oxygen Emate Race For 4 Months. During That
I own Oxygen Emate Race for 4 months. During that time the bike turned out to be a very reliable robust machine. I used it in the mixed terrain on road as well as off road in the hilly areas of Dorking, Surrey. The bike has a great equipment with very good Shimano XT gears and Avid brakes which are in fact very responsive even if they get very hot on the downhill. The suspension forks are also very comfortable and the lockout on the forks helps while I climb. The battery seems to be doing very well as much better in range than my old Powabyke. I do about 30 miles trip on the full speed of throttle twisted to maximum. With pedal assist should do even more. The electric hub motor is 250W (I've chosen a European version) and I can't say anything wrong about it. It does very sharp hills which I'm proud with as the Dorking area is really very hilly. Overall I think it's a great bike that for reasonable amount of money (paid £1100 and saved £100 of the RRP) and you get much higher specs than other manufacturers offer, I'm really pleased with it.
I found this review helpful because...Hills are my scene and this review tells me I should now try out this bike. I am looking for a USEFUL electric bike rather than a disappointing one.
I found this review helpful because... he explains about the bike and how robust and reliable it was.
