Bought The 2007 Top Model The Specialized Globe Pr
Bought the 2007 top model the Specialized Globe Pro for the Missus. Carbon fibre forks, handlebars, seatpost and even CF rear seat stays. Along with the aluminium frame this makes the bike very very light and very comfortable to ride. With the 27 gears operated by Shimano LX rapid fire gear shifters with a top quality XT rear mech gear changing is simple. Along with the wide range gears even a relative novice with not much fitness could do 40 miles in a day on this bike.
I replaced the bars with a set of lightweight aluminium ones so the width isn't as much as the riser bars were and I replaced the stem to lower the height a little, otherwise you could ride the bike as is.
The wheels are solid enough and the Alex rims are fine for average leisure riding, the tyres which look very wide at 700x42 are surprisingly light been folding types. They are also pretty puncture resistant.
It was very easy to fit a rear rack to the bike and there are also fittings for a front pannier rack AND mudguards if one so wished.
There is a very well padded/gel saddle with cutaway.
The brakes didn't need much adjustment and stopped the bike in excellent time.
All in all a superb bike, however the full retail price of £899 might put a lot of people of buying, lucky for us we found a near new one for sale at a silly price.
I can thoroughly recommend the Spesh globe bikes for ladies.

I've Been Riding My Specialized Globe Hybrid For T
I've been riding my Specialized Globe Hybrid for two years, for up to 20 miles a day when the weather is good. I'm a woman but find mens' bikes more comfortable and at 5'4", the 17" frame model is a good fit for me. My previous bike was a cheap-but-decent mountain bike and I'm so glad I graded up to this light 27" wheel hybrid. It's lighter, faster and more comfortable and the components and finish are of good quality for a bike in this price range. The gears use a thumb mechanism which takes a little getting used to if you've been on a twist-and-grip, but the gears are light and easy once you're into the swing of it. As other reviewers have mentioned, the pedals are a bit odd, looking as if they belong on a child's bike and lacking in grip. Be prepared to change the pedals if it bothers you. Otherwise this is a very good budget hybrid.

I Bought This Specialized Globe Bike 6 Months Ago
I bought this Specialized Globe bike 6 months ago and i am very pleased with it, the bike is light with a great feel. I have used it for general commuting and long tours with full luggage. I will change the pedals shortly as they are flat and you can not add toe clips but that is the only drawback I've noticed so far. To sum up this bike I would say buy it if you want a great all round bike but ask for different pedals to be fitted.

Most of my life I have been riding heavy cheap steel framed bikes. Decided to spend a bit more and get a Specialized Globe. I am pleased with my choice and my son might also buy one now. I hope to have this bike for many years if it doesn't give me problems.

I Bought This For General Commuting And Some Touri
I bought this for general commuting and some touring. I changed the grips and added bar ends, added fenders and both front and rear racks. So far I am very impresses with this bike, especially for the money.
