Kalkhoff Electric Bike

Bought a new integrale five months ago. I have had repeated problems with a wobbly steering column. Been back to the showroom twice and still not fixed. Also it has developed a loose chain holder. No obvious reason.

Nothing obvious to fix.

After sales are a pain. Very difficult to speak to someone and when you do they expect you to bring the bike back to the shop which is a 140 mile round trip for me.

A friend of mine also bought a similar model recently and he has been plagued by battery problems.

It seems German engineering and quality are declining.

I am writing this review because I am very dissatisfied with the bike I purchased from 50 Cycles. Not long after I received the bike the controller and battery had to be replaced, also the chain guard was broken and they said they would replace it but that never materialised. The bike has not long come out of warranty and I have had to replace both the Avid brakes as they were seizing with Shimano ones as the cycle shop said they have had a lot of trouble with Avid Disk Brakes. I have also had to replace both inner tubes as the woods valves kept leaking.

For a bike costing over £1800 I would have thought the materials used should have been better.
