David Lloyd Purley Is A Total ???? Hole
David Lloyd Purley is a total ???? hole. There are other clubs which are immaculate but DL Purley just won't do anything about the uncleanliness, the mould which is growing everywhere, the rats, the fly infestations etc. It is really not a nice place to be nowadays. All of the recent five star reviews on Google are fake and from staff members to drown out the real 1 star reviews. The management won't listen to the high number of complaints that they have received and the place is starting to become a health hazard.

How Not To Treat Your Customer
David Lloyd, Chorley Electric output failure 23.9.24
In club approx 7:40 a.m.ish. At approx 8:10am ish I and another swimmer were told by Manager to vacate the pool immediately due to electric output failure in the area. I vacated the pool. Changing room had emergency lighting - shower was working, Whilst in shower I was asked to vacate asap. Thanked the person and was almost ready to leave shower area when another person very curtly asked 'what's your name' and shouted vacate immediately. I asked for a little patience as I had to dry and dress which I did. Approximately 8:35ish and in an agitated state the club Manager barged into the female changing room where I had just finished dressing, aggressively shouting "you have put my staff in danger, you are suspended from the club - don't want to see you again - you should shower at home" he then flounced out giving me no chance to explain that as a 77 year old pensioner with a disability (arthritic hip) it takes patience and a little longer to dress etc. I have been a member for over 20 years and have never experienced such appalling lack of customer care.

Disgusting Health Safety
Had an accident at poole David Lloyd Nov 23 went into accident book slipped in jacuzzi I didn’t take matter to solicitor as I was promised action would be taken to make it safer 10 months on nothing significant kept being flobbed off promised to get new longer hand rail but now o have to have a hip replacement as a result of the accident and all I got was jeez sorry and no action wrote to regional manager and his response was just dann right dismissive ostrich mentality nothing g wrong with our health and safety yet I provided evidence to the contrary and medical admission for hip surgery at a cost of 15 k out of my own pocket !! Disgusting service for someone who had been there over 2 decades even before it was David Lloyd
Wake up guys your health and safety sucks and I’m not alone in this people should speak up if they have had similar experiences the spa is slippery and can be dangerous and they don’t take into consideration disabled users terrible attitude

Very Expensive And Poor Facilities. Never Again!
Dreadful temporary gym facilities at a premium price! I am paying £270 for a Platinum Membership and the temporary gym facilities are dreadful. They are in a marquee so it was too hot for most of last week to use them. The area is stuffy, cramped and some of the machines were not working. There was only one fan and not even a water cooler. Just plastic cups and tepid water! Go to your local gym; it can't be any worse!

Great Facilities, Amazing Classes
I've joined many gyms over the past 20 years but never stuck with any for more than a few months.
When I joined David Lloyds in Exeter, I didn't expect things to be any different.
That was until I met a personal trainer who completely changed my outlook on fitness.
He personalised workouts are just right for me. They're tough but also a lot of fun.
The atmosphere and energy in his classes make me forget that I'm working hard – I actually enjoy it!
Unlike my past experiences with personal trainers, he really knows his stuff.
He can make the gym experience enjoyable and achievable.
He understood my goals and helped me overcome my obstacles.
His encouragement and positive attitude motivate to do more.
I not only look forward to my workouts but have also seen improvements in my fitness and overall health.
David Lloyds Exeter is lucky to have him, and I can't recommend him highly enough!

Utterly Disappointed With The Service Received At The Dl
I am utterly disappointed with the service received at the DL Aspley, Nottingham branch reception. The behavior of the staff, especially an older gentleman, was unprofessional and discourteous, significantly detracting from the expected standard of customer service. Such conduct is unacceptable and has deeply marred my perception of the establishment.

Rising Costs Whilst Gym Quality Declines Rapidly
Annoyed that I have to write yet another negative review of the club but it's getting progressively worse. Exeter club has turned into an absolute circus. Way too busy, prices going up, club is filthy with bin bags left in changing rooms, broken equipment.
And lastly, the car park is outright dangerous. Some genius has decided to run a 2 week for £20 promotion whilst a large portion of the car park is closed off for building work.In that time I have witnessed a mother almost get knocked down with her kid and today a car hit a parked car in the car park and drive off. According to reception this is the second crash in the car park in as many weeks. The car park is the busiest I have ever seen it with cars blocking exits and restricting views of pedestrians.
Once the club have you signed up they don't care about you. They are only interested in new business and for what you pay you get no real perks other than the odd measly guest pass. I am thinking about leaving as soon as a viable option becomes available and would not recommend the club to ANYONE in it's current state. I have been leaving feedback about all of this after every visit in the last month and have had ZERO contact from DL.
And lastly, the membership I was on jumped £25 a month in 6 months last year. An absolute joke given the club is in the worst state I have ever seen it in.

Best Trainer
I have been attending David Lloyd classes for more than ten years. She is an excellent trainer whose focus and attention to detail is second to none. Moreover, although she takes her job very seriously, she finds a balance between working her clients hard whilst creating a light, and often fun environment. As she says, laughing is good for us.

Very Knowledgeable Staff
I was looking to join David Lloyd in Bushey and had a very informative show round by a lady. She was incredibly passionate about fitness, and took lots of time explaining all the different areas of the club, and the benefits for members. She is certainly a great ambassador for David Lloyd.
Q&A
Why doesn't DAVID LLOYDS in Hull give NHS DISCOUNTS like the rest of David Lloyds?
Can someone please explain to me how the DL rewards scheme works? After 6 years you get 6 free passes and 7%, but do you still get the 6 free passes your 7,8,9,10... or just a one off free passes for year 2, year 4 and year 6?
