Not The Most Robust Machine. Don't Get It For Hea
Not the most robust machine. Don't get it for heavy usage. The machine surprised me when it seemed to give a distance travelled of 6km for every 1000 strokes exactly, which I thought a bit unusual until I tried moving the seat without touching any other part of the machine. It registered calories burned, distance travelled and strokes just from a seat movement, even though the flywheel wasn't turning. This means that it can tell you you are going further with more effort when you are actually putting in a worse stroke with less effort and not pulling through properly. Don't trust the display to tell you how well you are doing, apart from how many strokes you have done and how long you have been doing it for. The rest is really just made-up data. It is a pity it broke so quickly and doesn't correctly measure, since otherwise this is a good value machine. But remember that, it is a value machine, not a professional gym version, so don't expect anything more than this.

Good Machine However Better Suits A Commercial Gym
Good machine however better suits a commercial gym rather than home use.

The Carl Lewis Fitness Romf51 Magnetic Is Generall
The Carl Lewis Fitness ROMF51 Magnetic is generally well designed and built. The trimming of some panels is a bit rough, but this is a cosmetic fault. The seat could do with padding as it gets uncomfortable when rowing. The grips on the handle tend to slide off in use and need something to keep them in place. The display and a replacement display have failed to count the repetitions accurately. The timer stops if you stop for a couple of seconds. I am still trying to get a display that functions properly. The machine is smooth and quiet and provides the kind of exercise it was designed for very well.
Thanks for the review, it helps people like me and others to get a first hand report like yours. It does look nice and I suppose at that price it will have some rough edges. Thanks very much again. Steve.
Q&A
It's lifting up when you row and this is because the frame is worn. Anyone know where we can buy any spare parts for this machine?
