The Mitchell Avocet Big Surf 6500 Reel Is A Nice L
The Mitchell Avocet Big Surf 6500 Reel is a nice looking reel, but sadly not the same build quality as the old mitchells from years gone by, which could be trusted to last for years & would never let you down.

I Had Tournies For Years Only Sold As Weren't Gett
I had Tournies for years only sold as weren't getting used much now. These replacements are great for the money...Totally recommend. Amazing Value for money. Smooth, light great line lay. The Mitchell Avocet Big Surf reel is a really good fishing reel.
Be careful when you change the spools over as the little clip inside isn't welded on and can get lost if you don't keep an eye on it.

Although Designed For The Beach Fisherman, I Bough
Although designed for the beach fisherman, I bought 2 of these reels for my spod & marker float rods when carp fishing. They are big pit reels and come with 2 aluminium spools, one deep & one shallow with is great for braid. Main features of the reel are 3+1 ball bearings, instant infinate anti-reverse & a superb multi-disc drag system which goes from freespin to locked up with just one full turn of the drag knob, which means they can be used as carp reels using the drag as a baitrunner, just a quick flick on the drag knob when the carp runs will set the drag for playing the fish. Another plus point is because they are designed for sea fishing the are salt water protected and sealed so should be able to put up with whatever the weather throws at them. I've been using mine for just over a year and so far have had no problems. Currently on sale for under £40 makes these a great buy. but be warned they have a large reel foot so your rods will need a size 20 reel seat.
Anyone interested in buying these should have a look at erics angling centre, currently on offer for £24.99 each. an absolute steal at that price.
