No Drive Again
Have done 200 mile when the trolley lost drive think the gearbox must have gone. Returned for repair and after a further 49 miles it's gone again . I only changed from a power caddy after 10 years trouble free use wished I had still got it. However I do love the features the M3 spot has if only it was reliable

Nearly Perfect
I reported some time ago the multiple problems I experienced with my PowaKaddy FreeWay II, and especially the poor battery performance. Since then, I have switched to Motocaddy (S3, Li) and after a year of use I have no complaint whatsoever. The trolley is very well built, quiet and yet powerful. I always have plenty of juice left after each round of golf and I'm somewhat reassured that my battery comes with a 5-year warranty. The only complaint so far: the accessories are not up to the trolley's high standard. The beverage holder sometime falls off and the knobs to secure the umbrella keep on loosening up. In short, this is a nearly perfect choice!

Motor Oil Leaks
I bought a S3 three months ago and have had it replaced once already due to oil leaks from the motor housing and axles. The second unit has only been used once, and is leaking worse than the first. To top it off the MotorCaddy rep told me that 90% have a leak, although he referred to it as sweating. Anything that has sufficient oil to drip from the motor is more like a leak. I certainly would not have bought one if I had known about this problem before hand.

I bought the Motocaddy S3 Pro with a Lithium battery a few months ago
In general the trolley works carrying your bag around .. but so do other trollies.
But this trolley does have issues, namely its very difficult to see whether the motor drive is on or off. The thin 1cm diameter dark blue circle against a black background with just one SMALL segment rotating when on power is on is almost impossible to see in daylight ... be OK for night golfing but haven't got round to trying that yet. Gives rise to interesting issues such as chasing your trolley downhill when it 'walks off' by itself. Been a close thing several times with water.
The same switch being used for both changing speed and switching drive on/off is a major part of the problem; it's very sensitive and easily switched on/off whilst changing speed. It's OK when you use it on a nice boring flat course but once it starts getting hilly these issues raise their ugly heads.
These issues just shouldn't be there with such an expensive trolley.
It does JUST get around 36 holes on a recent full charge (new battery) .. but heck .... the batteries are EXPENSIVE!!!!

Smooth And Reliable
For
Bought my Motocaddy S3 November 2011, I play golf twice a week although past weeks have had to carry due to course conditions, trolley has performed well through the year without any failures, very smooth and quiet in operation easy to fold and clean, a little bulky when folded.
Against
After a year of use I noticed the battery bag was worn through at the bottom, (not the sort of thing that you would normaly notice in normal use.) I happen to mention this at my golf club where 3 other people had a similar problem.
I contacted Motocaddy with a picture attached and their whose response was that the warrenty had expired and at a cost of £10 I could purcahse a new one.
Perhaps people should be warned to check the battery cover monthly to look for excessive wear.

My lens keeps misting up.I took it to an agent and he said they know about it,but it does not effect the running of it. It is getting steadily worse, but Motocaddy am not interested. Their after sales service is a joke.

I have used power trollies for many years.
Without doubt they are all flimsy tools trying to do a robust job.
Out of the many I have had, the Motocaddy S3 is the one I like best.
Light, quiet, easy fold, average repair cost has been about £50.
If one is lucky enough to play a lot, good idea to have a spare.
Also keep away from extreme hilly courses.

I Bought The Motocaddy S3 Electric Golf Trolley In
i bought the motocaddy S3 electric golf trolley in january 2009 and was pleased with many aspects of the product - it is easy to assemble and collapse, controls are very simple and user fiendly and the cart is very light.
unfortunately 11 months after purchase i began to have problems with the cart. the battery appeared to run out of charge after 15 holes . the cart has been back to motocaddy 3 times since jan 4th and each time the repair has lasted less them 1 round of golf!the cart has been back with them for over 2 weeks and they cant work out what is wrong with it! they are now arguing with my retailer saying that it is out of warranty so they cant give me a replacement (it was in warranty when they started trying to repair it!) In summary - great product but ruined by awful after sales service.
I Totally agree with you on the aftersales by Motocaddy.
Same problem , faulty prior to warranty ending, refusal to replace now
as warranty ran out. Am taking them to small claims court

Bought My Motocaddy S3 A Couple Of Weeks Ago After
Bought my Motocaddy S3 a couple of weeks ago after the handle on my Powakaddy broke due due plastic fatigue.
This is fantastic, and I love the distance measures and the info on the screen. The clock is really useful, as you can get your excuses ready before you finish the round.
Absolutely silent, great ergometric handle and adjustable for different size bags.
