The No.1 Insulation & Solar Pv Specialist
Excellent content. Glad I got here. I like spray foam more than other forms of insulation.
I Am A Dgi Victim, Still Dealing With It 10 Years On.
We had cavity wall insulation (installed) approx 10 years ago.
This entails drilling several small holes into the outer wall and then pumping in small (tiny) grey bubbles/balls/beads into the cavity of all of the outer walls of the house(same as bean bag stuffing).
10 YEARS ON now, and tidying up after this job was done, has now become routine.
This routine is filling up a black-bin-bag to approx half full, sometimes more, of grey plastic beads, every week.
They have leaked out of the walls onto the path around the house consistently and unendingly for 10 years.
These little beads are small and light and cling to shoes, clothes and the dog, therefore the house also has these small grey plastic beads in every room of the house, tidying up these is also part of the routine.
And of course any gentle wind can blow these beads around, so this means that it isn't possible to tidy them unless the weather is very still.
Since the day DGI left this property I have been constantly surrounded by this pollutant and reminded of the faces of the two boys that had caused me this constant headache and how personally victimised I have been by them.
This is my mothers house (she is elderly and unwilling to persue any reparations) therefore I have had to maintain this constant de-pollution routine... which is EXTREMELY AGGRAVATING and very tiresome.
It's not easy to explain just how depressing it is to have to always be dealing with this and getting nowhere. Constantly surrounded by it and reminded of it.
I guess DGI won't feel its a problem that I have since spent in excess of
520 hours in the last ten years...
(based on what is an absolute minimum of 1 hour per week I have spent dealing with sweeping up the beads, *not* including vacuum cleaning)
...dealing with this seemingly never ending nightmare.
Since I didn't hire them personally and I am not the home owner, I have not contacted DGI, but I hope I have stated my case clearly here to warn others.
If anyone can appreciate how reserved I have been in writing this, I truly appreciate you for that.
Yours sincerely,
DGI victim.

Complete Shambles
I unfortunately had the pleasure to work for this so called company, they were very disorganised and the equipment they gave us to use didn't work properly but we got told just to do what we can to get the jobs done baring in mind this is people's houses livelyhood we were working on safe to say I didn't last long at this company and would not recommend anyone to use them that's if they are still trading under Dgi.
Out Of Business?
We had wall insulation done on the external walls and the outer plastised coating was bubbling on the one wall. The adviser came out to look last year and said we were better off waiting for the better weather. 12 months on and the plastised coat is now falling off and all numbers are unobtainable. Standby for how the 'guarantee' stands up.....!

We Had Our Loft Insulated By These Guys Claiming T
We had our loft insulated by these guys claiming they were part of the Goverment Scheme. We had to pay a fee if £200. Which my mum didn't agree with. We are a home owner. They completed the job but within a year we had mould on the ceiling in the rooms below and you could see there had been moisture in the loft as you can see the drip marks. When I called the lady on the phone said that heat seeps through the ceiling and this is why there is condensation!! I did not accept this answer but kept going round in circles so I ended the call. Any way after 4 years of putting up with it I decided to complain again. The number was not valid anymore so I thought I would go to domestic and general themselves. When I explained he looked into it and said that he felt we had been scammed and that the company had used their name as they do not do loft insulation never had. Also they looked on the Internet to see that the website was under construction. When I looked on the paperwork again it does say domestic and general insulation so it could be on my part not looking into it enough and assuming the two companies were linked. The real domestic and general have advised me to go to trading standards and report it which is what I'm going to do. I would say anyone thinking of having cavity wall insulation or loft insulation DON'T. Old houses are designed to breath, we are filling up the air gap and our house can not breath hence why we are having problems and we have not noticed any reduction in our energy bills.
Do Not Go To Domestic & General
I think domestic has gone down I have not been able to contact them on all there numbers.
Dreadfull Communication With Customers
A very bad loft insulation job. Three e.mails sent to complain and one reply to first one and completely ignore the other two. No phone number given to get in touch with Domestic&General/insulation.
Consumer Response
New Name for Domestic General Insulation Ltd
I am told Consumer Response,I can not find them listed.
So if anybody's had dealings with this company let me know.
I was put off by the review's Domestic General Insulation Ltd.
Fantastic
I was a little sceptical about the company after looking at the reviews however soon realised that most insulation companies are comparable in that aspect. I had a conservatory at the rear of the property and had been let down by various companies in the past. I went with my gut feeling and decided on trying one last time and it paid off. Good job guys.
Q&A
I have a problem with my insulation. Who will honor my 25 year guarantee?
Under my contract with the Hereford branch there is one final boiler service remaining but I cannot get in touch with them. What should I do?
How can I contact you and talk to somebody? I have tried several times without success. Are they trying to avoid me for any reason?
