The Worst Guide Ever

Name of the guide: “Pedrito Dragon”

The guide named “Pedrito Dragon” is a rude and very inconsiderate person. He arrived late to the bus and treated us very disrespectfully, his excuse was that the metro opened at 7:00.

Throughout the trip he offered us numerous comments in order to provoke us. Take several examples;

- We are not going to Winsor, to indicate that we were changing the order of the route.

- We will go to Winsor at the time when it opens with fewer pickpockets.

- The bus is dangerous and we hope the driver has not been drinking, to ask us to fasten our seatbelts.

- The queer king who was hit with a stick on the rear or I am going to ruin the Vikings series for you, when explaining British history.

- Don't tell my boss that I don't tell you anything about Stonehenge.

He didn't give us any instructions or recommendations about when we could eat, so most of us had to improvise.

He told people off for not being more punctual, but we left Windsor late because of him giving the driver incorrect instructions.

The guide's behaviour and mistreatment completely ruined the activity for us.

Don’t Do It.

Their drivers are rude and will not answer any question accurately. Gray Line Golden Tours upsells, then make it extremely difficult to redeem the upsold portion of the ticket. For instance, I purchase a hop on hop off ticket for my wife and I in London. I also selected the river cruise addition to the tickets for $26 pounds more. Grayline/ golden tours made it so difficult to redeem that ticket that eventually the river cruise just waived me on rather than listen to me yap about what happened. One driver told me he didn’t know how to redeem the cruise ticket, that I should just read the fine print next time (there were no further instructions on the e ticket I purchased online!). A different driver evidently didn’t know so he told us to get off “here” at a random wrong place. The kiosk on google shows “permanently closed” by the Eye, and the other kiosk across the bridge and down the stars flat out refused to talk to me — told me to talk to the river cruise company. They have people all over London selling these tickets — but have no real intention of actually accepting the tickets. Buyer/tourist beware.

I Paid For A Stonehenge Tour. This Is Not A "tour"

I paid for a Stonehenge tour. This is not a "tour" but rather an overpriced, unsafe bus ride. The driver wore earbuds the entire time, said not one word during the two and a half hour ride there and once we arrived at Stonehenge he said "The bathrooms are there, the shuttle line is there, got off the bus." Audio devices were outside the bus in a basket....no instruction was given, many were broken. As we were leaving to get assistance with the devices, the driver said "Be back at 6:10 or I leave you." I contacted Golden Tours to register a complaint. The following in quotes is their response...."The tour that you booked was an unescorted trip, I am so sorry that you think we gave you a minimum service but it is clearly stated that this is an unguided tour. Before you were boarded you had been given a welcoming letter informing them you to expect on the tour." The spelling errors, sentence structure and grammar errors says it all. Golden Tours is tarnished. My parents took an unguided tour from Evans two days later and were given impeccable service. This "tour" should be titled "Unsafe, rude bus service to Stonehenge for inflated price." Go with Evans or any tour company other than Golden Tours....wish I could give a negative star review.

Terrible Experience

Golden Tours around London. It's a machine guys ! There are so many tourists taking this company and most don't check. I am a UK citizen and together with my wife and 3 people all the way from Australia we booked because the reviews stated OK. Don't know how but our experience with them was abysmal all for way over £100. Don't take the Lilac Route you'll grow old waiting for the bus to arrive. The young lady said it would be there in 10 minutes it's at the Museum. One hour 20 minutes later it arrived. Some Americans were up in arms about it all. We got on the bus and it slowly ( slower than walking pace ) trudged through the traffic from hell. Changed onto the red route after wasting much time on the bus - YES - a waste of time. The red route was slow or stop. In Fleet Street one of our party fell asleep in the heat and the bus didn't move an inch. The driver said don't worry it's always like this it's the people crossing the road. Couldn't see any people !!. River Cruise was over inside 10 minutes. A lot of money for very little. The Visitor Centre was visited and we might as well as been wallpaper. Little or no help at all and totally confused. She looked at us as though we were all fools. She might have been very experienced in what she knew but had no time to explain - next please. We all went out. Have contacted them and NO REPLY. Too many people paying them. NEVER NEVER AGAIN. Recommend them ? Over my dead body.

Rude Staff And Tickets That Are Not Together

Two things

1) Rude staff - spoke to the call centre and arranged to pick up my train tickets the day before from their office. Got to the office and the lady i spoke to told me quite rudely have to pick them up tomorrow we don't have them here. I insisted that they had the tickets and she continued to dismiss as if i was stupid and didn't understand what she was saying. I then told her let me speak to your manager. She then went inside i presume to call the manager out. When she came back out she had the tickets in her hand. All she had to say after was "no one told me". No apology

2) Imagine your surprise when you book a birthday treat for your girlfriend (day trip to paris) and you board your 2&½ hour train to find that you are not sitting together. I booked a paris tour for 2.I didn't think i had to mention that i wanted the tickets together.

Wonderful Pete Tour Guide

Recently visited London. I took a day trip to Oxford, had the most wonderful guide, he seemed to make the towns and villages come alive.

I loved the walking tour of Oxford. Can't want to go back and use

him again. My trip was made memorable because of him.

dissagreeable

Underwhelming, Would Not Repeat.

We had a bus tour of the Tower of London, Canterbury and Leeds Castle in the middle of March, 2013. The driver, Omar, told us that the "rules" prohibited him from being part of any of our visit to these locations, and only gave us superficial information before arrival. We were left to our own devices until Omar picked us up. The tour offered a fixed-price lunch, which was awful. We were promised a boat tour of the Thames, but received only an unguided on/off taxi service to our dropping off destination, several miles from our hotel. This experience left a bad taste in our mouths which has yet to dissipate.

We Paid For A Tour To Stratford, Oxford And The Co

We paid for a tour to Stratford, Oxford and the Cotswolds on 18 Dec 2010. We arrived at the offices at 8AM fully expecting the tour to be cancelled due to the approaching weather, but found that the tour was operating as planned. As we exited London, the snow begam falling heavily. Once in Stratford at noon, we were told that the road to Oxford was closed. On phoning the Head Office, we were told that all other tours had earlier been informed that they should cancel the tour. Our tour was the only one operating out of London. This was a worry. Why were we not informed of this we wondered? We were all very upset about the whole thing, and many a time asked if we could not just pull over into a hotel or something as this was insane!! We were told that this was not possible. We stopped for food and drinks (on our acc) only once at 11PM. We only got back into London at 3AM the following morning. It was a terrible horror story of a day, that we will never forget. With all this said, we would like to request a full refund, as our day trip was forever ruined. We DID NOT have the pub lunch, see the Cotswolds or Oxford. We would like to request a response from management regarding a refund
