Bangor, Hoseasons Ogwen Bank

I have been going to Ogwen Bank for the last 14 years. It is set in beautiful surroundings in a lovely part of Wales. The caravans were clean, warm and very nice. The pub serves delicious food and is cosy and welcoming with large screen t.v and pool tables area. The staff on site are very welcoming and friendly and helpful.There is a security man and card operated barrier on site which keeps it peaceful and secluded. There are lovely walks around the river and site plus there is a nice play area for younger children. Ogwen Bank is the best place I have ever been to.

very dirty - toe nail clippings and bogies on floor and bed - cup of mouth wash left in bathroom - cigarete burns in carpets - felt itchy for the week - beds unmade and stains on beds, tables??? Gross - freezer dirty and stunk - oven faulty and took us 3 days to work outdishwasher and washing machine - no instructions (were not thick but it does help) eldest kid wanted to come home. Looked generally unkept and unclean unlike other places which smell and look fresh and not like a backdrop to a 70's Blue movie.

was probably an ace place at one time but now outdated and in dire need of a revamp.

this is no joke - and although others might states it was wonderful we beg to differ.

ogwen bank was fantastic we went in july and it was lovely and sunny, so the scenery was great.

We recently went on holiday to Ogwen Bank holiday park booked through Hoseasons. I Picked this park because the Hoseasons brochure described it as a peaceful with a relaxing environment and an 'Olde Worlde Country Club'.

On arrival at the Caravan there was no parking spaces near our accomodation and the caravan itself was on bricks. Inside the caravan there was a damp smell and was clear it had not been cleaned for a while as it was very dirty. The bathroom was tiny and the shower was broken and dirty and the shower head had fallen off.

The bed linen provided was covered in a glue like substance and dirty and the beds themselves were covered in human and animal hair and the view from the caravan consisted of a number of dustbins which had not been emptied for some time.

Anyway we cleaned out the caravan the best we could and then had a shower only to find that outside the caravan water and soap suds from the bathroom drainage had leaked outside and caused a huge puddle all around our car and the exit to the caravan.

The country club had a few tables and chairs and a television screen of which the tables were sticky and dirty and covered in dried on gravy. There was only one member of staff that was serving at the bar and also doing the cooking - surprised to say we drove from the park looking for somewhere else to eat.

Even though the park had turned out to be a dive we decided we decided to try and stay in the caravan as we were a long way from home but when we got in the beds we started itching.

This was the final straw and went to contact the management but no one was there so we packed up came home early the next morning (about 3am) as it was far too dirty for human habitation.

When we got back we contacted Hoseasons to complain. They got in contact with Ogwen Bank who said that the caravan in their opinion was clean and tidy and did not seem to see a problem (this was probably because I had cleaned it).

Hoseasons confessed that they do not inspect the holiday parks and accomadation that they advertise in their brochure and simply said that our standards for a hoseasons holiday was too high.
