No Arrival, Reception Closed At 5.15pm, Rough Site, Shabby

Upon arrival at 5.15pm reception closed, didnt know where to pitch up after 5 hours in car with 2 children. Bad language over heard from staff. People on site drunk, loud and bad language, not suitable if you have children! The whole camp site rather shabby and need updating or at least kept clean!!!!!!

Would Not Recommend!

We are here now. We have two babies and have been place in a caravan right next to the entertainment - it is so loud and vibrates through the beds, you can hear every word. If you have children under 5 don't waste your money staying here! I guess camping is different but I wouldn't recommend a stay in their caravans - Why? Well mainly the noise, our two wouldn't settle at night. The bed sheets don't fit the double bed and ours have holes in. There is nothing for little ones to do, there is a under 5's club in the morning for half an hour and it was terrible, the staff just sat there and did not interact with the children and the rabbit Sparky didn't make an appearance. The pool isn't open until 10am as morning is for owners only. The pool is only small and was very over crowded with little changing facilities. The place is flat there is no atmosphere. The chippy closes early if there is a staff problem and the pub Farmhouse for food is so expensive. It cost us £8 for two drinks in the bar at night!! This place would be OK for older families or Couples. I wouldn't stay here again.

We have now stayed at quite a few parks but this one has to be the most NOISIEST of all. If you ever go there NEVER accept a van near the entertaining / (fun-slash)swimming pool, Why they ever bother putting anyone in these caravans right next to the entertainment block I will never know, the staff are clearly aware of the noise problem but do nothing, In fact these vans should be moved and the land turned into a picnic site.

The building is not sound proofed and the swimming pool as two air vents making a noise enough to keep you awake all night, For us the vents were the problem, the entertainment noise stopped at 11pm a constant humming all night with the flaps on the vents rattling keeping us awake, alter complaining I was told at first they cannot be turned off at night, but alter repeatedly complaining they decided to turn them off at night but this happened on our last day there. To add to this you have security vans going by the vans in the middle of the night just to make sure your still awake. If you have young children this is not the place for you. We were in H-3 caravan with two vans even closer than us to the noise, God knows how they managed to sleep. No matter how much you pay weather it be £100 or £500 we should be all treated to same degree of respect and consideration.

WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS ONE. A shame as it was a good base to explore north Wales.

LACK OF SLEEP SPOILT OUR STAY.

go to hafan y mor, its fantastic there x

Park Resorts - Ty Mawr - Rhyl - On Arrival Our Ini

Park Resorts - Ty Mawr - Rhyl - On arrival our initial thoughts were it seemed a nice caravan sight...How wrong we were! Check-in was quick and easy and initially the caravan seemed clean. When we were un-packing I found a reciept from August (we were there the end of October!) a sweet of somesort and dirty tissues under the bed in the main bedroom, there was a hair in the bottom of the shower and the toilet hadnt been well cleaned either. There were duvets and pillows although no bedding for the second set (good job we took our own is all I can say!)It was stated somewhere in the handbook which was in the caravan, the shower may be hot which was un-avoidable so never leave children un-attended when in the shower, Well I struggled to have a shower in the burning heat so my child had a wash down from the sink everyday (not an appropriate form of washing when you have been on the wet beach all day!) We decided to go swimming to the pool on the complex. It was that cold we were shivering and beginning to literally turn blue wothin minutes, the water was murky with dirt floating about! The changing rooms were not clean either and the toilets in the swimming complex wernt even hygenic if you wanted to squat over the toilet! They dont provide mirrors in the swimming complx either and BE AWARE the lockers charge you a NON-REFUNDABLE £1 so if you forget to put something in your locker be prepared to pay another £1. The farm house was cheap enough for food but quite expensive for drinks, although the food was nice, we didnt enjoy the atmosphere and we found it quite cold. I cant really comment on the entertainment as we only ventured there one night and stayed for half an hour. The adventure playground was a boggy mess and the prize ride wasnt available to play on having been padlocked, much to the upset of my child. We seemed to have extremely noisy neighbours, with a fight seeming to break out at around 1am near our caravan with plenty of swearing and shouting, needless to stay that morning we packed up and left... a day ahead of schedule! The only reason we enjoyed our time in Wales was due to the days out we had off the park. We will not be visiting park resorts again. We paid £375, although this seemed cheap and cheerful at the time of booking, it definately was not. Sometimes you really only get what you pay for. It seems we didnt even get that. I am writing this fresh from memory as we returned home today.

We sayed here this year 2011. And not a problem at all creating amazing memories it did for us. So let me just add That the staff on the camp cant keep rain off the park so that what you sed about a boggy mess is stupid. As well as the zip wire being locked up if you would of asked a member of staff about it they would tell you that it is out of order due to it hanging low, So really there doing you a favour by not letting your kids ass drag along the floor. Thanks

Would Not Recommend This Site To Anyone. My Family

Would not recommend this site to anyone. My family went to Ty Mawr in August we booked a silver plus caravan which is supposed to sleep eight but there was only six of us four adults two children and there was not enough space to move let alone hang clothes. Your legs bang off the radiator in toilet etc etc.

The site was ok but needs good clean,Play park not appropriate for very young children as over run with older children.

Caravans to close together we were placed next to site entertainers who came in drunk every night arguing and being very loud and leaving rubbish outside caravan attracting animals.

Night time entertainment was shocking the staff were bullying each other no good for young children, room smelly queue for bar terrible and drinks very expensive, bingo drags on and on.

Chip shop was ok though.

We went out every day and loved wales we visited many nice places like chester zoo, farm & chocolate factory and lovely cafe called Rita's in Rhyl well worth a visit.

Would def go back to wales but NOT Ty mawr holiday park.

We Have Recently Returned From A Holiday At Ty Maw

We have recently returned from a holiday at Ty Mawr, where we stopped in a gold rated caravan. The caravan itself was fine, however the sheets didn't fit the double bed and the single duvet was holed. The general cleanliness was OK, however we did find a sock, used hanky & pen down the side of the seats.

The pool was fine and the play areas great for the kids. Sadly I can not say the same for the entertainment. The first few rows of the clubhouse stank of vomit & I waited over 20 mins to get served at the bar.

On our last night we were awoken by fighting outside our front window which lasted for about 30 mins with no sign of sight security.

This was our first experience as a family staying on a caravan park and it will most certainly be the last.

One good thing about Ty Mawr is its proximity to Rhyl, Conway & Snowdonia all of which are worth a visit.

We Have Just Returned From Our 5 Day Stay At Ty Ma

We have just returned from our 5 day stay at Ty Mawr. On arrival we were told we had 2 areas to choose from to pitch our tent. The campsite was extremely full however we did find a really nice spot. Unfortunately it went downhill from there on in.

The shower blocks are very substandard dirty and smelt of urine. The showers are freezing on complaining to the receptionist I was told there was nothing they could do. Basically I had to shower in freezing water.

The ladies toilets were much the same no toliet roll available, they smelt of urine excrement was smeared over one toilet and left like that for 2 days.

The entertainment was rubbish the park resorts team were very unprofessinal making remarks over the mic about other people which I found very offensive.

The chippy on site was very good.

The swimming pool had green mildew growing around the side of the pool we soon got in and got out again. The complaints are endless to many to mention.

This is a budget holiday and you get what you pay for.

I will never return back here again. Haven is so much better and more professional

Never Go To This Place, Its Like Hell, The Toilets

NEVER go to this place, its like hell, the toilets had faeces smeared all over the walls, the showers stank of pee, and the pool had green stuff growing on the surrounding walls.

here's my story, prepare yourself for the worst review ever.

my fianc e suffers from an illness called ceoliacs disease, which means she cannot eat foods with gluten in, all of the food served on the site (and the whole town in fact) was not gluten-free, so we had no choice but to eat the food, which was vile, but the more she ate the more she deteriorated, on the Wednesday she entered the 18+ talent competition, straight after her show she fainted, i was trying to look after her and wake her up when one of the women who do the entertainment came over (kelly) and made the comment "if this was a drama competition, she would have won" and then walked away, i was furious with this comment, so after we came back from the hospital we filed an official complaint, and heard nothing more of it, obviously my fiance was embarassed to go out for a few days, but by the saturday she built up the courage to go out, she also has probles with her ankles, so she put her feet up on a table and a security guard came up and said "your not unconsious now, get your feet off the f*****g table" i felt this was way out of order and told him i would make sure that he loses his job. she was very upset so we just went back to our tent. in the morning we were awaken by people shouting outside our tent, so we got up to see what all the fuss was about, our neighbours and ourselves had had our tent lines cut, but our neighbours were blaming us for it, and threatened to "smash my head in" so i just ignored them and went to the toilets (which were disgusting) and when i came back he was threatening to stab my fianc e, so i called the police, when the police arrived they went over to the neighbours who threatened us first, and came over a few minutes later, and shouted in my fianc es face, the people must have been lying to get her in trouble, i know the law, and i know the police arent allowed to scream in peoples faces, especially in the face of a victim, and especially only after hearing one side of the story, immediatly after we packed everything up and went over to the reception to complain, i asked for the manager and went straight into his office, he heard me out but said he couldnt do anything about what had happend, i realise our neighbours are nothing to do with him, but his staff are, and he said theyv done nothing wrong, but they really upst me and my fience, wed been victimised all holiday for no reason, especially by the staff! when we left the office we said were going to get our solicitors onto them and the manager said "good" this is extremely childish behaviour from "professionals" and i will NEVER be going back again, i hope if your on this website to see if ty mawr or park resorts are any good that youv read my account and i hope you think twice, its horrible and were utterly drained after this "holiday" i implore you do NOT go to ty mawr, if i get my own way, it wont be round much longer anyway. thankyou for reading.

omg that is terrible, i really feel for you, a holiday is supposed to be fun, we go to hafan y mor in wales which is haven run and its a fantastic place, and they will cater for special diets if you request it, they would never ever treat you like that, its terrible service, im glad i read your review as we were thinking of having a change of scenery as somewhere else, just for a change but i think ill stick to what i know, x

Christ - what a whinger !

Why didn't you phone BEFORE booking to see what food was available if your fiancee has special dietary needs.

I was in a carvery the other week and some woman was holding up the queue with her "can't eat this, can't eat that"

Sounds like you and your knackered fiancee were made for each other !

I found this review very helpful because... i agree. park resorts is utter tripe, never had any incidents like this couple did but its sheer boring with about 10 holiday makers on the whole of the camp. who the hell would want to buy a caravan and put it on this site

Pink lady744

I also was camping at Ty Mawr at the same time with my husband and 2 kids aged 7 and 9.

Sometimes the toilets/showers could of been cleaner however there was always a cleaner on duty keeping them as clean as possible.

My comment is that you seem to be blameing the park for everything, all the food in towyn, the police all other campers I think it is unfair.

Our main family holiday which we have to save hard for was great we found Ty Mawr friendly alot of things for kids and most of all safe.

So maybe your review is one sided??
