Horrendously Overpriced ! You Will Be Disappointed !
Staying at the grass holm lodge at bluestone! Supposedly 5 star accommodation !
The site feels like a village after ' the day after tomorrow'
The site is dark and poorly lit in the evening!
No golf buggies left on arrival but at £75 for four days I would expect them to be included !
The lodge is spacious but not 5 star and on opening the front door it was met with very poor decorated walls and filthy hand marks ! The cooker was dirty and the towels were very worn . The bedding smells fousty !
We decided to food from the takeaway ! The on site food is terrible & I wouldn't feed it to my pet dog!
This break was nearly £1000 for 4 nights for 4 people !
I booked this break as a special holiday for my family since losing my parents and I am gravely disappointed !

Filthy Lodges
Were told on arrival that we couldn't enter the lodge until 4.30pm! Totally ridiculous as its dark by then and lighting around the site is very poor. Lodge was filthy when we did get into it. Complained and was promised a re-clean but only kitchen floor was done. Plates didn't fit in dishwasher and there weren't enough of them. Only one towel per guest which by any bodies standards is poor. Hired a buggy to get around but it died after less than 12 hrs and refused to charge up. Substitution was supplied but it meant we lost a days use. I had booked activities for my daughter and the information on where they would be was poor but we did find them. I'm just glad that we had free tickets to the Kingdom of the Elves as it was never worth the £32.50 each that some people had paid. Overall a disappointing experience which was a shame as we has enjoyed our first holiday here 3 years ago but standards have dropped considerably in that time.

Kingdom Of The Elves
Not worth the money, and disappointing when you arrive and staff are rude, not clear directions to where the adventure hut is, as it was dark when we arrived, and lighting above the signs is poor.
Totally agree, lighting is poor in winter guests should be allowed to enter around 3pm before it gets dark.
Relaxing Weekend Break
We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Bluestone. The lodge was clean, well equiped and we had a fabulous view over the lake. Once the barrier was down, we didn't see any cars on site. Initially, we were a little disappointed to find that we didn't have any details in our lodge about the opening times of the places to eat and only after we had walked down to Camp Smokey that we found out it was only open for 2 hours during our whole stay! We were able get the list of opening times from the Village centre
The nature trails were excellent, albeit very muddy, which did add to the fun.
We didn't visit the blue lagoon, choosing instead to spend our days at the fabulous beaches in the area. This is where the biggest difference with CP lays - rather than lots of organised activites, Bluestone can not be visited without making the most of the amazing Welsh Coastline, and so wall to wall activities aren't required!
Saying that our son loved the sky ropes in the adventure centre and the 4x4 driving will be on our to do list next time.
Overall, we would recommend Bluestone. its a family friendly base to spend some time in a tranquil environment...and build the odd sandcastle...perfect!

Wonderful Place Relaxing Or Energetic Your Choice.
We have stayed at blue stone many many times. We have taken friends and family with us and have all enjoyed each time. The weather has been good and sometimes not so good but there is a variety of entertainment to suit all ages even if you stay in your accommodation to relax. All accommodation have a TV and Video player and WyFi connection. The rooms are very spacious and fully equipt even the kitchen. The lodges are very clean and family friendly. Some of the accommodations we have stayed in need new beds and a fresh make over to compliment the standard of the new loges which are superbly tasteful. We have recommended Blue Stone to all our friends and family and most of them are now Liberty members. The Eadvantage of booking everything you purchase against your accommodation is a great idea there is no need to carry any money around with you. The staff are all very friendly and helpful at all times they even know us now on first name terms but they always treat all guests with the same friendly and helpful greeting. We love our time at Blue Stone we find it relaxing after a full busy week at work. Our grandchildren love coming to stay with us every time . The Elves at Christmas time is wonderful and very professionally done not to be missed. Father Christmas last year was magical our grandchildren were taken in by his presence and friendliness he was the real Santa according to them even the 10year old. The food in Carrreg Las is very tastefully cooked and well presented not to be missed they accommodate all the family. The management and staff are always cheerful with a friendly smile and service. Other food outlets are family friendly with a choice to accommodate all ages even the take away menu with free delivery to your accommodation. The tavern has a very friendly and inviting atmosphere and a lovely log fire in the winter they also have a very good bar meal choice with live entertainment and quiz evenings.

In Some Ways Better Than Center Parcs!
Lodges very big and comfortable. All have Dishwasher. Internet is available in all Lodges.
Buggy is essential if you have arthritis like me but it was great for my stepson too.
I cant really Fault Bluestone - well except for the food.
Somebody said You better like pizzas if you are a veggie at Bluestone! Well there's some news. Now You can only get Pizzas delivered to your lodge. And one of the restaurants in the brochure has disappeared! There are two vegetarian meals. A curry and Mushroom Tagliatelle. a bit duff/dull if you are there for a week. we ended up driving out at meal times.
Oh and the After Dark in the pool EVERY NIGHT after 6.00 is deafening loud rock music not really suitable for a family like us with a 9 year old. - But as I said we had to drive out to eat so didn't get deafened too often!
Stepson loved learning archery climbing trees and wall climbing.
Fair comments..(i wish we had got a buggie)
i'd note that the tree Climbing is very difficult in wet conditions.. my son (ok only 7) really struggled on the second tree.. but he can easily do over hangs on climbing walls (indoor)..

Excellent Family Holiday
I have just come back from a weekend at Bluestone with my gran and my 3 children 8,6 and 2. We stayed in a Caldey Lodge which was very clean and had everything we needed and it was very nice inside. The beds were also very comfortable.
My children absolutely loved the blue lagoon waterpark and thought that it was much better than center parcs. They also went on the 4 x 4 safari which they really enjoyed, the girl who took them was very friendly. we also had passes for the adventure centre which was well worth it as the weather was not very good during our stay. The adventure centre had something for each of my 3 children and they really enjoyed it. The staff in guest services and the cafe were very friendly and helpful.
i had read in some reviews that i would need to hire a golf buggy especially as i had young children, but i didnt get one and I was quite pleased i did not get one as my children loved walking everywhere.
we also went on a walk around 930pm and saw 3 badgers running around so my children were chuffed.
I would definetly return to Bluestone and my husband who could not come this time is looking forward to our next trip to Bluestone.
Being A Cp Regular I Was A Little Nervous About Ou
Being a CP regular I was a little nervous about our stay at Bluestone. However, I am delighted to say it was wonderful. The lodge was super, much better equipped that CP and lots of space. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good and reasonably priced.
Our group included children aged between 1 and 13 yrs and the activity centre and pool provided something to keep them all amused.
There are not a lot of activities on site but with Oakwood 2 mins away and lots of other things near by it wasn't difficult to find something to do.
The site was very quiet and there was plenty of space in the play are to watch the kids. I would definately recommend hiring a golf buggy as that hill can get tiring for little legs!
Overall I would highly recommend Bluestone. Our experience was that it was cheaper, quieter, friendier and better equipped and will definately be going again!
I Just Got Back From A Week At Bluestone With My H
I just got back from a week at Bluestone with my husband. I loved it! I was very impressed with the high quality amenities in the lodge, like the t.v., DVD player, shower, microwave, underfloor heating in the bathroom, heated towel rack. It was very clean and comfortable. There is wireless in the village and if you bring an ethernet cable you can hook up inm the lodge as well. I found the customer service everywhere on site was excellent. It was excellent value for money and we are already booking to go later in the year. I don't really appreciate the wet room; didn't like that. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Plus, I appreciated the eco friendly philosphy. Would definitely recommend it to a friend.
I Think Bluestone Is An Amazing Place To Go. It Wi
I think Bluestone is an amazing place to go. It will be our second time going in a week. The bar is good the food is good the shops are good !!! I personally LOVE Bluestone..... but the only two things that put me off was that the beds were a bit uncomfortable and my bike chain broke twice.... other than that i say i was sad to leave !!

Q&A
Hi I have a question about on site free bus service, how often does it run and from where to where? Thanks.
Is there any evening entertainment for the kids of a weekend? Like a disco maybe?
